My go-to PM routine for sensitive skin 🌖
My go-to PM routine for sensitive skin 🌖
My PM routine is all about giving my skin a good shield to help repair and recover overnight. Sometimes I will add in acids to this routine. My skin type is combination (dry on my jawline, chin and forehead, oily in my t-zone, and rosacea on my cheeks under my eyes) in the winter/spring while leaning more oily/normal in the summer and fall. My skin is VERY sensitive (have been all my life, even consulting with doctors for years) and my skin is prone to allergic reactions to many natural and organic ingredients. This routine works so well for me since it’s focused on healing and none of the products irritate my skin! FIRST CLEANSE: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser I’ve already posted a review on why I prefer Slaai versus Farmacy’s balm for my first cleanse. It’s a lot thicker than green clean and feels so much more soothing and turns into a true oil. Slaai doesn’t sting my eyes, has no smell, and washes off without leaving my skin feeling stripped or tight. I massage a tiny amount of this into dry skin for 45-90 seconds before washing off with warm water. Then I’ll do my second cleanse without drying off my face. Slaai is on par with green clean price and size wise ($35 for 3.88oz) and I can’t recommend it enough. Get a sample at Sephora before purchasing!! 5/5 SECOND CLEANSE: HOLI FROG - Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash Holifrog’s gel cleanser is transparent with minimal “suds” that deep clean your pores without stripping your skin. It’s full of antioxidants too—Holifrog packs their cleansers with amazing ingredients. It’s jelly in texture and has a light scent to it but nothing major. When I use this cleanser I always pair it with my FOREO so I’m cleansing my face for at least 60 seconds and I’m hitting it where it counts. $36 for 5oz is standard for a mid-tier cleanser and I wish it was more accessible. Only available for purchase on holifrog’s website or dermstore.com. 5/5 RETINOID/OIL: The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalane Guys, this Retinoid is so amazing. I’ve been using it for 5 months now almost daily and it’s formulated for sensitive skin. Let’s get one thing straight: it’s NOT retinol. It’s a retinOID. Big difference. Granactive Retinoid in particular is formulated for sensitive skin and allows for daily use without destroying your skin! I chose the formula with squalane oil so I get 2-in-1 without missing on quality. It’s $9.60 for 1oz and I’m so happy I got into this when i did. My acne scarring texture has decreased so much while using this, but not so much redness. 5/5 highly recommend. OVERNIGHT MASK: SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask Jet Lag is the perfect topper on my PM routine because it seals everything in. I’ve already reviewed this, so long story short—I wake up with brighter skin every time with no irritation. No scent. Super thick gel formula. $48 for 2.25oz. Get a sample first! 5/5

Dry/Dehydrated Skin Routine
Dry/Dehydrated Skin Routine
Sometimes when I use too many clay masks or skip my skincare routine a few times (hey, life happens) my skin can get super dehydrated. In those instances, I like to use a simple, but effective routine to infuse hydration into my skin. This can be used at any time, and I do it whenever I need to (if my skin is super dry, I’ll even do this a few days in a row). Step 1 – Cleanse fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash I always start with a cleanser, and the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is my favorite. It is very gentle, and effective. It has a light cucumber scent, which doesn’t bother me at all, I quite like it. I find that when my skin is dry, it tends to overproduce oils, so I like to cleanse it well, but I also want to make sure my cleanser isn’t stripping my skin. Step 2 – Hydrating Mist YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha I have a lot of face mists that I filter between, but this YTTP Adaptogen Mist is my current favorite/go-to. This one is very hydrating and soothing and gives an extra layer of hydration before I go in for my hydrating mask. Because hydrating masks usually form an occlusive later over your skin, using a mist before will give an extra boost of hydration. Step 3 – Hydrating/Soothing Mask BIODERMA - Sensibio Mask If my skin is feeling both stressed and dehydrated, I like to go for this Bioderma Mask as it is so soothing and also makes my skin feel plump. This has a super simple formulation that is fragrance free with very hydrating ingredients, so it always does the trick for my skin!

Night Skin Routine
Night Skin Routine
My evening skin routine used to involve cleanse, exfoliate every other night, face oil and moisturiser. My skin was “okay” but it wasn’t “great” Also being in my early 30s I figured it was time to start introducing some more active ingredients into my routine My current routine involves a few more steps.. 🌟 step 1 GO-TO - Fancy Facea oil based cleanser that melts the day away, and smells absolutely divine while doing so! This one is a new introduction into my routine, but I am loving it so far! 🌟 step 2 - double cleanse with GO-TO - Properly Clean I’ve been using this cleanser for over 6 months now and I’m totally in love! It’s gentle but does cleanse really well, with an amazing scent to boot! It doesn’t break the bank either and contains so many natural goodies! 🌟 step 3 - alternate days I exfoliate with GO-TO - Exfoliating Swipeys these citrusy scented little rounds make exfoliating super easy! Simply swipe across your skin, leave for a minute and rinse! The gentle naturally occurring AHAs do a swift but gentle job of gently exfoliating without irritation 🌟 step 3 - alternate days I apply DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Creamthis is a new introduction into my routine and I’ve only applied it to my skin for 3 uses so far so I’m not expecting to see any immediate changes. With retinols it’s about the long game! I have been using the most minuscule amount once a week at the moment and have experienced some spot dryness over already active break out spots.. but have otherwise been okay! This is a win considering I have quite sensitive skin that is prone to redness.. I’m going to start using it twice weekly soon. 🌟 step 4 - hydrate with The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 this little baby is a dream! A silky serum that goes on smoothly. I have seen others say this is sticky, but I haven’t found this. I place some into the palm of my hand and smooth it over both hands then onto my face. Once I’ve smoothed it over my face I then pat my face gently to increase absorption and voila! 🌟 step 5 - nourish with GO-TO - Face Hero this gorgeous oil is so hydrating and smells divine without irritating even my sensitive skin! I simply place a few drops into the palm of my hand, warm it between my hands and smooth over my face It does give a slight sheen, but does not feel oily or tacky at all 🌟 step 6 - moisturise with GO-TO - Very Useful Face Cream whilst I find this cream too heavy for day wear, it is the perfect evening cream! A little goes a long way with this baby! Simply smooth a pea sized amount between your palms and then over your face! It leaves my skin feeling soft, supple and super smooth! The fragrance is gentle and natural based on the ingredients Check back in a few weeks to see my review on my new items! Let me know what your nightly routine is!! 💕

I have dry skin and my T-zone gets oily quite easily. I wear makeup every day and the makeup makes my skin even dehydrated and sensitive. I like to use products that are with a light texture, and it can provide enough moisture to my skin. Step 1 – Cleanser I have tried different kinds of cleansers but most of them are not suitable for me. The Lancôme Cream- Mouse is my favourite cleanser. It helps me to clean all the makeup from my face completely. It is gentle and it moistures my skin well. It has a light rose scent. I like to use this Lancôme cleanser every day especially to clean my oily T-zone. Step 2 — Serum After cleaning my face, I will use one Eve Lom serum capsule. It can be absorbed by my skin in 30 seconds and it is not greasy at all. It is very hydrating and it also helps my skin to absorb the nutrition of the facial cream quite well. Step 3 – La Mer Moisturizing Cream This is one of my favourite creams. It is rich in texture and it smells luxurious. Every night after I clean my face I will scoop out a pea-sized amount of the cream, and warm it up between the fingertips until it becomes transparent and put it on my face. On application, my skin is softened, supple and luminous. It also helps to fade the spots on my face

Okay so first I wanted to explain the type of skin I have which is very sensitive skin. I have ezcema but I get oily in my t-zone. People say it’s better if you are sensitive to not use this product. Because it will irritate the skin. Been told It’s more efficient for combo or oily skin. Well it was hard for me to find a product since (( I have sensitive skin ))to get rid of my acne. So I decided to buy it and I have watched many people videos on YouTube but some don’t explain how to use these products throughly. I had to do some real research on how to use it. What products to use with it , to leave it on or wash off, do I use before or after? Those are the concerns I had that many people didn’t talk about but they did explain how many times out of the week and the benefits you gain from using it. I wanted to know the routine. So for those who have sensitive skin I would try it cause it may work for you. But I used all three product on separate days, mainly at night. I waited each 24 hours to see if I got a reaction. I put it small amount on my jaw line. So make sure you do that just to be cautious to your pretty face. There is a disclaimer YOUR SKIN WILL BE DRIED IF YOU DON’T USE A THICK MOSITURIZER . This is my routine for Tuesday and Thursday only at night : I washed my face with a cleanser, toner then I applied 4 drops of the aha peel leave for 5 minute and wash it off. Do not rub it when applying the aha . Just apply it with light stokes. After i put niacinamide over the aha peel add moisturizer and that is it. ( I use niacinamide 5 days out of the week) Saturday: Cleanser, toner, lactic acid, niacinamide and moisturizer. That’s it ! This is my 2nd week using the products and I see a huge difference! Thank you for reading my ted talk !
