Drugstore v.s. High-end: Vitamin C
Vitamin C is an ingredient we are familiar with, not only in fruits, but it also appears more frequently in the ingredient list of skincare products, and there are some good reasons. VC is an effective ingredient for anti-aging, combating dark spots, and evening out the skin tone. So if your pursuit in skincare coincides with the above-mentioned functions, you should incorporate this useful ingredient in your skin routine. And pay attention to SPF when you are using VC, otherwise, the sun-sensitive ingredient might further tune down your skin tone. I would like to discuss two products that I am currently using, one drugstore and the other a little bit pricey: · Vitamin C suspension 23% + HA spheres from The Ordinary The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% 23% is really a high percentage when we are talking about the concentration of VC in a skincare product, but this always holds true when it comes to the ordinary. I am not a sensitive skin type but this still stings a little bit for a little while after I put it on my face. Also, it takes quite some time to smooth out. Then I tried to mix it with other cream and it becomes better. But I have to say, it really works: the dark spots on my face have faded out and now my face is more brightening that it used to be. · Mandarin Facial Hydrating Cream from Aesop Aesop - Mandarin Facial Hydrating Cream You would assume that mandarin contains a high level of VC and that’s true. I love how this cream really smells likes tangerine and how mild it is when you are messaging it into your skin, you can truly relax and enjoy the scent and its effects. That’s the biggest difference from using the ordinary product: you are sort of accomplishing a mission when applying Vitamin C suspension 23% onto your face instead of taking a moment to really enjoy the process of caring for your skin. Besides, I am also a huge fan of Aesop's packing and its pursuit of natural ingredients. It costs about $50 for 60ml, seven or eight times that of the ordinary one. You could figure out your pursuit and choose one accordingly.

4 VITAMIN C FAVES 💕 Mini Reviews
Vit C should be the most commonly purchased skincare serum. There are so many reasons why a Vitamin C serum is important to use and it's basically a cure-all beauty product. Most serums help with sun damage, fine lines, acne scars, under eye bags, free-radicals and antioxidants. These are the 4 serums I own and love! I wanted to make a post about each of these in case you need help finding the right one. I received @thrivecausemetics Liquid Light Therapy as PR in April (I believe). I can not obsess enough over it. This one is 100% my favorite one I've tried, there is just something about the texture and consistency that feels so good ($59). I love this because it brightens the skin with red and blue light therapy to stimulate collage production and dramatically reduce wrinkles and reveal clear skin @summerfridays CC Me ($64) is next up on my list of faves. This one is also formulated with squalane to boost hydration while sealing in moisture and a peptide complex to help improve with elasticity and firmness. I find that this serum as well as the next one I am going to talk about are really good at brightening dull skin or if you have a lot of hyperpigmentation and use these twice a day, I do find that it truly helps combat it. I love @farmacybeauty lately! I am obsessed. I had a sample of the Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum and once I finished I was really reaching for more, so I caved and purchased a full size ($62) I find this one to be an interesting formula because it has 4 forms of Vitamin C. They use Acerola Cherry Extract which is one of the richest sources of NATURAL vitamin C to known to reduce signs of aging. If we want to talk about funky formulas, nothing could beat @volitionbeauty Strawberry-C Serum ($42). This formula is powered by Strawberry Fruit & Seed Extract to help brighten dull skin as well as unclogging pores and remove excess oil. This was the first full sized Vitamin C I purchased, mainly because of the reviews and the price! Although I no longer reach for this one as much, I do find if you want a great started serum or you aren't looking to spend a lot - this one does the job!
SUMMER FRIDAYS-CC Me Vitamin C Serum
Checking in here with my Vitamin C treatments! I want to give this guy right here 5/5. I love Vitamin C, but does it ever sting! And you’re sitting there, hoping the more it stings the better the results will be... you wanna make my hands stink for weeks after, sure.... I’ll take it all for beautiful skin. That’s not always the case as I am sure you already know 😕 When I say I have PIH, I mean I realllyyy do have the red marks all over my cheeks. Best part is, it’s a big challenge for me not to pick at the pimples and pores and create new red spots that turn into purple that turn into scars. Aaaaand it’s a never ending cycle. One thing I can say to anyone with a similar issue about picking at your skin - always have product/makeup/mask on your face so you don’t go picking at it. Or message a friend and have a simple conversation. Distract yourself. Remove every single magnifying mirror in your house. And let’s get to these Vitamin C serums to bring back your best looking self 🍋🍊 indeed LABORATORIES - Vitamin C24 Serum This guy is working very well for me. The tingling is not too bad even though the percentage of Vitamin C is high, I am assuming the hyalironic acid added in this formula is balancing things out and leaving the skin soft, I don’t follow up with a moisturizer after I apply this serum before bed. I like the price point for indeed products and my skin is loving every single thing I’ve tried so far. The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% certainly a nice product to have for a lower price point to try out how your skin reacts to this specific Acid. This was a starting point for me and I gradually built the percentage going from there. I found that this one doesn’t fully absorb and kind of stays on the surface of your skin, so you will end up rubbing it off on everything SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum very good.... very expensive. This is a great AM serum to wear under SPF and makeup. It goes on perfectly and doesn’t sting. If I ever save up enough for this product I would re purchase. It did not change my skin dramatically but it certainly makes your skin look even and luxurious. THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Serum 30ml very good, very cheap. This is a great product if you are on the budget, but you will need to purchase yourself a bottle of hyaluronic acid because this baby feels hella spiky. When I first put it on (even though I have been using Vitamin C for months) it felt like there was a thousand tiny needles poking through my skin. I followed up with Hyaluronic Acid immediately and the tingling went down. All in all, Indeed Vitamin C serum is worth a try for a pretty good price. My combination skin is loving it. Please drop a comment and tell me about your fave Vitamin C serum! For all my babies with acne scars and hyperpigmentation, i hope you are reading this and I hope you know you are beautiful! ♥️💫

👨⚕️Vitamin C can save your skin!!
Scratching you head and wondering why those bloggers always have that dewy, beautiful skin that never matches with their ages🧐 ? Attention girls❕ Best beauty secret in town! No need to be jealous of others anymore😍 !! The comments below are all from our users and they reveal how their beauty secret – vitamin C – can save your skin. @Sara.Rudnick“You're looking for a bomb vitamin C serum - here I am - try CeraVe! I have been using vitamin C on my skin for a few years. Vitamin C serums is one of the products through the years that I can say actually makes a difference with my skin. My skin just looks brighter and better. The CeraVe vitamin C serum contains 10% pure vitamin C and also some Hyaluronic Acid. It also helps your skin better absorb following moisturizer over it. Though it's only 10% (some other products contain 20% or more vitamin C) but it's totally enough for me and actually it's safer to use for sensitive skin. The Cerave comes in an enclosed tube so the product stays fresh and doesn’t oxidize which is an issue with Vitamin C. You should definitely try it!!” @ALONDRAMEDINA"I highly recommend Naturium vitamin C 22%. It's so good súper gentle and very hydrating. A little goes along way. It's only $20 and it's fast shipping. I love it, it have seriously change my skin for the best. I have been have acne for 15 years and finally found something that can help me. I highly recommend this. " @StephanieLaplanche“Start off with the basics: cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen (for when you go outside). Definitely add a solid vitamin C serum for the dark spots. Paulas choice has an amazing vitamin C serum that has 15% pure vitamin C!! I keep the moisturizers very basic because I find that a lot of the higher end moisturizers have either too much fragrance for me or they sink into the skin soo much that I have to reapply every other hour.” @GlowPrincess“What helped me the most was me being consistent with my day & night skincare routines and also knowing how to apply my products, for example applying my vitamin C serum after my toner and then my hyaluronic acid serum & then my liquid exfoliator. Layering the right skincare product is very important because if you dont apply them correctly, you can have breakouts & redness that can lead to hyperpigmentation.” Apart from our beauty experts’ testimonies, scientific research has shown that vitamin C can protect skin cells, even out skin tone, lighten hyperpigmentation and brown spots, and enhance skin radiance 👏 ! CeraVe-Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum
A lucky TJ Maxx find!! Who are you, Rodial??
I found this mask several months ago at TJ Maxx and cant believe it was less than $10! Saksfifthavenue.com sells it for $68-85. Would I pay that much for it?? Probably not but if I ever find it again at a discount store, then definitely YES! This lightweight (ugly in color 😂 & light tingly sensation) gel mask definitely brightens your face after rinsing it off. The smell and color are a bit strange but not horrible. Following this mask, I noticed my skin was bright but somewhat dry. Rodial - Vit C Brightening Mask From the website, here’s what it does: 🌺 5% vitamin C to boost luminosity and evens skin tone. Yes to the luminosity part ☺️ 🌺Fruit AHAs to boost moisture levels in the skin and gently exfoliates. 🌺Glycolic and lactic acid to retexture and renew skin. 🌺Pomegranate extract: Anti-aging antioxidant that protects the skin.

My Top 3 Vitamin C Products
Vitamin c is a potent antioxidant, which helps to combat free radical damage to collagen, and it inhibits the production of tyrosinase, lessening melanin production to correct dark spots, uneven tone, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. L-ascorbic acid specifically is a mild chemical exfoliant as well, garnering an extra boost to its tone-correcting and dark spot-lightening powers. Here are my favourite vitamin c products: • *GOOD MOLECULES - Vitamin C Booster Powder : The major appeals of powdered vitamin c are the longer lifespan of the product and the ability to control product concentration. Most vitamin c powders are made equally- I’ve heard good things about the Ordinary’s! I stopped using powder due to getting irritation anytime I accidentally used too much- I’m so sensitive to vitamin c that even a little extra makes my skin red. This would be best for those with oily skin (just add it to your moisturizer, avoiding an extra serum) or for those that want to be able to personally control concentration. • The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% : My favourite brightening serum. Team up a gentle concentration of l-ascorbic acid with the super effective alpha arbutin and watch hyperpigmentation quickly fade over the weeks. It has a slick texture but soaks in quickly and the smoky scent has only recently become noticeable- I need a new bottle soon, it lasts so long! This would suit those who have sensitive skin, melasma, or PIH/hyperpigmentation issues. • DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum : One pump of C-Firma mixed into B-Hydra and Protini was my daytime routine for months and months. It’s so effective at correcting uneven tone! But C-Firma’s potent formula of 15% vitamin c, vitamin e, and ferulic acid is too much strong for my face- my cheeks get red and bumpy when I use it. But I’ve been adding a pump to my Sili body lotion to prevent any dark spots and fade scars, which has been surprisingly effective. I’d mainly recommend this for mature skin that’s already experiencing dark spots or those that have a high tolerance for vitamin c. * gifted

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
