My Make-up Mistakes 💄
I have sensitive combination skin that is super acne prone and I used to have an addiction to dark teal liner on my bottom water line. ✨The picture on the left is an example of what it looked like last year. Looking back, I realize how heavy it looked, especially if I did too much. It made my eyes look smaller and was significantly too much product and too dark for my complexion. I knew I Iooked pretty at the end of the day when it had faded a lot but was using it as a security blanket and didn’t know what else to do. 👀 When the quarantine started, I stopped this entirely and took a focus to just mascara. From there, I began feeling comfortable without the liner and just mascara. I also started playing with the top of my eye area more, playing with shadows and sometimes adding a thin line of liner right above my lashes to emphasize this area. 👀 I feel like my eyes look bigger now and this more natural look fits me way better! I can still play with color, but up top rather than dark heavy colors below. I’m using the Benefit They’re Real mascara and Tattoo Liner by KVD daily. I also enjoy the Ilia Limitless Lash mascara a lot too and alternate with that sometimes. SKINCARE I’ve also since really found a skincare routine that works for me. I’d say the key products that have made a difference are Vitamin C serums and Retinal. I’m currently using the following routine: AM ☀️Matcha Hemp Cleanser by Krave ☀️Face Serum by SkinKissed ☀️Daily Greens by Farmacy ☀️Beet Shield by Krave PM 🌙 Very Cherry Clean Balm by Farmacy 🌙 Matcha Hemp Cleanser by Krave 🌙 Great Barrier Relief by Krave 🌙 Retinal by Allies of Skin 🌙 Rose + Glow Oil by Leah Skin (sometimes) When your skin is taken care of, your make-up of course looks way better because it has a more even base as a foundation. 🌱Side note: I’m also now using a CC cream for light coverage and fixing my redness. I use the one from Erborian which also has SPF 25 and cannot express how much I adore it and how perfectly it evens out my complexion. I don’t love wearing foundation so this skincare/makeup hybrid is the perfect fit. I now use the following products for make-up daily, of course adding things in here and there: benefit - They’re Real! Lengthening Mascara KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - KVD VEGAN BEAUTY Tattoo Liner erborian - CC Color Correcting & Redness Reducing Broad Spectrum SPF 25 Have you gone through a make-up transformation this year? #CheriePartner

Vitamin C Serums that are NOT worth the hype
✨I have sensitive combination skin that is acne prone. My skin concerns mainly revolve around acne and preventing breakouts when I can. I use Vitamin C to help protect my skin during the day and to help get rid of marks left over from acne. I love it as an ingredient and highly recommend trying it out but be careful when purchasing- not all are what they seem to be cracked up to be. 🍊 C-Firma by Drunk Elephant. The holy grail of NO for me when it comes to Vitamin C serums. But why do I hate this HIGHLY loved and hyped product? 🐘 First of all, this formula oxidizes at a highly fast rate, meaning the product becomes less and less effective faster. Secondly, the price of this for 1 oz is $80 which is actually outrageous and basically highway robbery. Thirdly, this product feels sticky once applied on the face, even when mixed and layered with other products which I cannot stand and it smells smokey like meat. BLEH. If you want something that maybe works for 3 months and are ok with having a sticky face and smelling smokey, then sure but this is not it for me. 🍍 Pineapple-C Brightening Serum by Glow Recipe. I decided to purchase it because it’s a clean brand and I was seeing it all over Instagram. Although I’ve seen some friends have success with this, this again isn’t a win for me. This is $49 for 1 oz which is way better than the previously mentioned serum. It has Vitamin C and AHAs with Hyaluronic Acid for hydration and pineapple juice to brighten skin. I wanted to like this so badly because of the lovely smell, ingredients and adorable glass packaging, but at the end of the day, this didn’t give me the results I was looking for. 🍊C15 by Paula’s Choice. Honestly I’m not sure how I feel about this one. It’s $49 as well but for .67 oz and I adore this brand but this has a shelf life of 3 months. Maybe that’s just the honestly of this brand vs Drunk Elephant but that’s a lot of product to get through in just 3 months! I want to try it again in the future. This also has Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid and this brand has yet to let me down but this expired too quickly for me personally so it’s on here too. If it’s that price point I want amazing results or a long shelf life. ☀️Although the above products didn’t work for me, they did lead me to discovering some serums that do. That list includes Very Cherry Bright by Farmacy and the Rose + Glow Vitamin C oil by Leah Skin which is my favorite. Another one I’m looking forward to trying is the Vitamin C by Allies of Skin. Ultimately, it’s about being patient and finding what works best for you!
The best vitamin C serum, for a great price 👆🏻
Give me some of that vitamin C🍊. @timelesshaskin. . . A new favourite in my morning skincare routine! Do you use vitamin C in your skincare routine? - - This serum contains vitamin C; also has Ferulic acid and vitamin E which help stabilize and enhance the function of the vitamin C. - - Benefits of the use of vitamin C in you’re routine: - antioxidant: helping protect from sun damage and air pollution. - helps build collagen. - can help with discolouration and hyperpigmentation. - helps with acne and acne prevention - because vitamin c has strong anti-inflammatory properties. . . My thoughts on the product so far: I really love how it makes my skin feel. The consistency is more watery of a serum which feels refreshing on my face. It is not irritating to my skin at all. I apply 2-3 drops and use my fingertips to massage into my face. I’ve noticed it’s helped with my discolouration around my mouth which I’ve mentioned before I really wanted to try and fix! So I am extremely happy about that. My skin appears to be smoother, radiant and no blemishes since I’ve added it into my skincare routine. I will be testing it out more but I truly have been enjoying it!
timeless SKIN CARE-20% Vitamin C + E Ferulic Acid Serum
The BEST vitamin C serum I have ever used 🧡
We all know that vitamin C is an incredible ingredient to add to our skincare routines. But not all serums are good formulations or even very effective. I have used a lot of different ones during my journey and this is why this is the BEST. **Product gifted but this review is 100% honest and my own opinion ** Vitamin C is incredible! It’s safe for most skin types, in rare cases, people who have hypersensitive skin may experience minor irritation. Vitamin C is also safe to use in conjunction with other skin care actives, including alpha hydroxy acids, retinols, and SPF. It’s hydrating, brightening, it can reduce redness and even out your skin tone, can fade hyperpigmentation, and even reduce the appearance of under eye circles. Can help promote collagen production, help sagging skin, and protect against sun ☀️ damage!! Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum Is seriously unlike any other c serum I have tried before. It of course has vitamin c high on the ingredients list but also includes: vitamin E- A protective antioxidant that can help fade the appearance of lines and wrinkles, Ferulic acid-a natural antioxidant found in the cell walls of plants. When combined with vitamins C & E, Ferulic Acid has been shown in studies to have a compounding antioxidant effect. Hyaluronic acid- gives that awesome plump, Konjac root- Exotic flower from Asia, helps to soften & smooth the skin while forming a thin protective barrier. Rich in nutrients such as copper, zinc, phosphorus, fatty acids, protein, carbohydrates, lipids, potassium, magnesium, iron, niacin, folic acid & vitamins A, E, C, D & B! Chamomile extract- soothes and calms the skin. And Clary sage- Helps eliminate overly-dry or overly-oily skin. Acts as natural toner & astringent. This serum has a texture between a watery serum and a thicker serum but it spreads so easily and absorbs incredibly quickly into my skin and when I say it’s not sticky it’s really not sticky. It leaves my face semi-matte and great for whatever step is next. This serum had ALREADY started to fade some dark spots around my eyes and my face just looks so much brighter and healthier. I seriously can’t wait to see how my skin is once I finish this bottle but I will be purchasing before I run out because I am SO impressed!! If you really are looking for a c serum that works and is also all natural and has a 60 day money back guarantee, definitely give this one a try! Price- $33.99 for 1.2 oz. and you only need 3-4 small drops to cover your entire face. It will definitely last you a while. So far, I’m becoming a Mad Hippie fan girl 😂🧡🧡

My Top 3 Vitamin C Products
Vitamin c is a potent antioxidant, which helps to combat free radical damage to collagen, and it inhibits the production of tyrosinase, lessening melanin production to correct dark spots, uneven tone, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. L-ascorbic acid specifically is a mild chemical exfoliant as well, garnering an extra boost to its tone-correcting and dark spot-lightening powers. Here are my favourite vitamin c products: • *GOOD MOLECULES - Vitamin C Booster Powder : The major appeals of powdered vitamin c are the longer lifespan of the product and the ability to control product concentration. Most vitamin c powders are made equally- I’ve heard good things about the Ordinary’s! I stopped using powder due to getting irritation anytime I accidentally used too much- I’m so sensitive to vitamin c that even a little extra makes my skin red. This would be best for those with oily skin (just add it to your moisturizer, avoiding an extra serum) or for those that want to be able to personally control concentration. • The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% : My favourite brightening serum. Team up a gentle concentration of l-ascorbic acid with the super effective alpha arbutin and watch hyperpigmentation quickly fade over the weeks. It has a slick texture but soaks in quickly and the smoky scent has only recently become noticeable- I need a new bottle soon, it lasts so long! This would suit those who have sensitive skin, melasma, or PIH/hyperpigmentation issues. • DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum : One pump of C-Firma mixed into B-Hydra and Protini was my daytime routine for months and months. It’s so effective at correcting uneven tone! But C-Firma’s potent formula of 15% vitamin c, vitamin e, and ferulic acid is too much strong for my face- my cheeks get red and bumpy when I use it. But I’ve been adding a pump to my Sili body lotion to prevent any dark spots and fade scars, which has been surprisingly effective. I’d mainly recommend this for mature skin that’s already experiencing dark spots or those that have a high tolerance for vitamin c. * gifted
