Vitamin E in skincare
Vitamin E is most commonly known for its benefits for skin health and appearance, it can be used on the face as an overnight anti-aging treatment, and solve skin concerns like hyperpigmentation, acne scar or damage caused by UV irradiation.
My favorite pore refining mask!
I love Sand & Sky Australian Pink Clay Porefining Face Mask and want everybody to know it! This product is a pore-refining mask that uses super-powered Australian botanicals to yield the most dramatic of results. It provides a solution for enlarged and clogged pores, blemishes and excessive oiliness. It’s a thick grey/pink clay that dries down A LOT to a thin white mask. It really sucks the life out of your face while you’re using it, but rest assured your skin does not feel stripped once the product is washed off. I’ve been using this mask for a little less than a year now- I decided to try the product because I loved the physical exfoliator from the line and this had even better reviews — and I see why! This seriously CLEARS YOUR SKIN OUT, I’m talking reduces the appearance of pores (a TON), reduces the size/redness/irritation of active breakouts and seems to also help reduce minor PIH for me (bad skin-picking habits! I know, practice what you preach!) For the longest time I didn’t really see the point in having more than one clay mask because I felt they all did essentially the same thing. But man, this Australian clay is a powerhouse, and combined with bentonite clay, the various extracts including aloe vera, vitamin E, kelp, witch hazel and mangosteen, this mask does everything it claims to do for my combination, always congested skin. It is ultra drying while on the skin, like I said, but I find that the other ingredients in the product help to minimize the effects of this and I always follow it up with a nourishing moisturizer or plain squalane oil after to replenish. I would recommend this to anyone struggling with acne, uneven texture and oiliness, including sensitive skin types because of the wonderful list of ingredients. It’s $49 for 2.1oz, which I think is fair because a little goes a lot way and it comes with a little brush to help keep the process sanitary and reduce waste. I will say, the jar it comes in is a lot smaller than I was expecting for some reason, but it is filled to the brim with product. You only need to leave this mask on for 10 minutes to achieve results, and with the brush it makes it a mess free process that I find totally worth the price if you’re struggling with the target concerns of this product. 5/5, I’ll continue to repurchase this!

Kate Somerville Gentle Exfolikate
Kate Somerville - ExfoliKate Gentle Exfoliating Treatment This product didn’t work for me. I was so excited to try it because the original exfolikate used to be my favorite so I thought a gentler version ? Why not! Oh well, there is a reason why the og exfolikate is such a hyped product because it’s really good and gets the job done. This version for sensitive skin broke me out immediately and dried my face so bad! It is supposed to decongest, exfoliate and reveal a more smoother and radiant skin. These claims didn’t work for me The texture is very creamy and goes on smoothly, it’s not very messy and it washes off very easily. It is supposed to work on all skin types. It’s also an expensive product $65 which is a lot when you don’t see results. I personally wouldn’t recommend this product. I’d stick with the original exfolikate 1 star ⭐️ Key Ingridients: Pineapple, Lactic Acid, Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, Natural extracts

Best vitamin C next to skinceuticals
Vitamin C. So if you’ve been researching the vitamin c skincare world you probably heard of Skinceuticals Vitamin C E Ferulic Acid serum. GREAT stuff, just costs a pretty penny (aka $166) WELLLL I just found a pretty close dupe to that. It's Dr. Brenners VIT C serum. The ingredients are identical, except Dr. Brenner’s has 20% concentration vs. Skinceuticals is concentrated at 15% I've seen a noticeable difference after about a month of using Dr. Brenners. It improved my skin's hyperpigmentation, as I have sensitive skin on top of hyperpigmentation. I apply Vit C in the AM because it actually works really well with SPF. Vit C is known to protect skin cells from damaging free radicals caused by UV exposure. It also inhibits melanin production in the skin, which helps to lighten hyperpigmentation and brown spots, even out skin tone, and enhance skin radiance. Vitamin C is known to be very unstable in skincare, which is why its so rare and hard to find a VIT C serum that works well. Its studied that If Vit C is formulated with Vitamin E and Ferulic acid it helps to stabilize VIT C. The only one con is that when I first opened it, it was clear, and now it has an ever so slightly tint to it which means it may have oxidized but it also could’ve been because I was filming so it was left open for a good 10 minutes. It's best to store VIT c in a cool dark environment like a skin fridge or even your fridge at home. Anyways, I give this VIT a 9/10. For the price, its well worth it!
Kismet with SkinCeuticals’ C E Ferulic
C E Ferulic is a serum with 15 percent L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C), 1 percent alpha tocopherol (vitamin E) and 0.5 percent ferulic acid. It is designed for dry, normal and sensitive skin. SkinCeuticals also specified that it was made for “sensitized, dehydrated, discolored and aging” skin conditions. 🙋🏾♀️ My dermatologist gave me samples of two SkinCeuticals products — niacinamide and the SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum to help with my hyperpigmentation. While the brand website says it formulated for dry, normal and sensitive skin — my skin is oily because it is so dehydrated. Now that you know the background let’s circle back to my hyperpigmentation: C E Ferulic, which is an oil, did make my Dalmatian spots fade quicker than normal. (I have been using it for about 3 months.) I would have give it 4⭐️, but I cannot justify the price for the average person. Would I recommend it? Like any product it does take time to work and I am not sure that it is worth the $166 price tag. If my derma wants to give me more samples, I wouldn’t turn her down. Yes, if you have money. But there are cheaper alternatives if you don’t have $166 to burn.

super ingredient: VITAMIN E 🔍
have you heard of vitamin E? this super ingredient is fairly new to the mainstream cosmetic scene, but there’s a lot of promising claims including: -moisturizing -slowing the effects of free radicals -fights inflammation -antioxidant -may promote wound healing because the data on vitamin E is still developing, make sure you do a patch test if you have a history of allergic reactions to skincare. YMMV! some of my absolute favorite skincare products have this super ingredient in common. Then I met you - Living Cleansing Balm part one of the duo cleansing system, this balm is incredibly luxe and gentle. it’s an almost therapeutic experience, and it removes makeup SO effectively. the best part of this balm is it leaves your skin still feeling soft and supple, no harsh stripping! PETER THOMAS ROTH - Peptide 21 Wrinkle Resist Serum this serum is VERY expensive, but one of the only things I’ve tried that I can say is truly worth every penny. I have used this when I have stubborn cystic acne and this was the only thing that helped clear my skin. it’s extremely hydrating and can be used on your eyes as well. if I could only use one serum for the rest of my life, it’d be this one. it has all sorts of great ingredients in it, including vitamin E! Sweet CHEF - Sugarcane + Vitamin E Lip Sleeping Mask this lip mask looks like the glossiest, yummiest gloss. but it’s a mask! I love using it overnight, but I’ve worn it out and about as well. vitamin E is one of the main ingredients and I can honestly say it hydrates my lips beautifully. have you tried vitamin E? #cheriecreator #cheriepartner

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
