Trying a New Nighttime Routine: The Ordinary 🌙
Trying a New Nighttime Routine: The Ordinary 🌙
I have so many Ordinary products that I don’t know which ones to consistently use, so I keep changing my nighttime routine. This is the routine I tried tonight: 🌙 Double cleansed my face using the Squalane Cleanser first then Cerave’s Hydrating Cleanser The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser 🌙 Once my face was dry, I applied a generous amount of the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. I say “generous” because this is my favourite Ordinary product ever and I cannot get enough of it. I love it so much that I honestly just want to douse my skin with it lol. I’m sure it’s not ideal to use too much so maybe don’t do as I do haha. (Don’t worry, I only used a nickel sized amount). The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 🌙 I then used the Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% 🌙 Next I applied the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% 🌙 My last step was using the 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane I have a normal skin type, so I’m lucky enough that most products don’t irritate my skin. Tonight I didn’t feel the need to use an eye cream, or add a moisturizer as the last step to this routine. The products above have left my face feeling hydrated enough :) Thankfully with The Ordinary you’re able to mix and match products until you find the perfect routine. I have yet to find out which routine I like the best. ——————————— I used the above products because: Hyaluronic acid is so hydrating, and as I said above, I love love love it. (It’s water-based so it’s best used before oils and creams). Antioxidants are very important for your skin. The resveratrol + ferulic acid & the Vitamin C make such a great combo. You’re enhancing the antioxidant properties by using both. (Use after water-based treatments and before oils). The plant-derived hemi-squalane adds extra moisture while softening and smoothing your skin. (Use after water-based treatments). 🌙 Let me know what your AM/PM skincare routines are 🙂

Okay so first I wanted to explain the type of skin I have which is very sensitive skin. I have ezcema but I get oily in my t-zone. People say it’s better if you are sensitive to not use this product. Because it will irritate the skin. Been told It’s more efficient for combo or oily skin. Well it was hard for me to find a product since (( I have sensitive skin ))to get rid of my acne. So I decided to buy it and I have watched many people videos on YouTube but some don’t explain how to use these products throughly. I had to do some real research on how to use it. What products to use with it , to leave it on or wash off, do I use before or after? Those are the concerns I had that many people didn’t talk about but they did explain how many times out of the week and the benefits you gain from using it. I wanted to know the routine. So for those who have sensitive skin I would try it cause it may work for you. But I used all three product on separate days, mainly at night. I waited each 24 hours to see if I got a reaction. I put it small amount on my jaw line. So make sure you do that just to be cautious to your pretty face. There is a disclaimer YOUR SKIN WILL BE DRIED IF YOU DON’T USE A THICK MOSITURIZER . This is my routine for Tuesday and Thursday only at night : I washed my face with a cleanser, toner then I applied 4 drops of the aha peel leave for 5 minute and wash it off. Do not rub it when applying the aha . Just apply it with light stokes. After i put niacinamide over the aha peel add moisturizer and that is it. ( I use niacinamide 5 days out of the week) Saturday: Cleanser, toner, lactic acid, niacinamide and moisturizer. That’s it ! This is my 2nd week using the products and I see a huge difference! Thank you for reading my ted talk !

I’m fairly new to a whole skincare routine. I have combo skin, where I’m mostly oily in my nose and cheeks but fairly dry everywhere else. My main concerns are that I have HUGE pores so I’d love to work on shrinking the size of them as well as manage dark circles/fine lines. I’ve heard great things with the ordinary brand. Can anyone recommend an AM/PM routine using their products and the order to use them in? I don’t have sensitive skin. Thanks ♥️

Obsessed!!! This is a Truly Indispensable Staple in my Skincare Routine.
Obsessed!!! This is a Truly Indispensable Staple in my Skincare Routine.
I live in a dry climate, plus I have a very dry and irritated skin type. I must choose skincare products carefully, but at the same time, they can give good results. My friend ever told me that rose oil had the effect of moisturizing and hydrating. I read a few reviews and bought The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed OilThe Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil after being skeptical. Yet the “gamble” paid off. Rich in RoseHip Seed Oil, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, and vitamin A, the cold-pressing process retains the properties and functions of the ingredients, which can help hydrate and moisten the skin, whiten and resize oxidation, increase the vitality of skin tissues, and restore the skin barrier. It has a scent, but it's not strong, and once you put it on, you don't smell it anymore. The coloring is gold. Its texture is just so soothing and can be absorbed really nicely by the skin. One suggestion, do not to apply the essential oil directly to the skin, especially the face. The essential oil should be mixed, because single essential oil is not diluted, the skin may appear sensitive problems and certain stimulation, so those with acne and spots in their faces should especially pay attention to. You can mix it with your face cream, body cream, or hand cream. It will be extremely easy to push, and will also be very easy to absorb and moisturize.  After a few weeks of use, I can see my skin texture is much more smooth. It definitely leaves my skin softer and luminous. By absorbing a good dose of nutrition, my face and neck feel balanced, moisturized, and refreshed! Besides, the other good news is that my sister said that her acne and acne scars have really improved.  Because of its strong effect, I didn't feel confident without wearing makeup before but now I feel like I can leave my face in nothing and still feel confident.

Rapid Reviews: The Ordinary Serums
Rapid Reviews: The Ordinary Serums
The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% My absolute favourite vitamin c serum, with a boost of alpha arbutin. Amazing at lightening PIH and uneven tone. It does have a slightly unpleasant slick texture that is 100% worth the quick results and gentleness. It’ll be hard for me to pay to try another vitamin c serum considering the affordable price and wonderful results I’ve experienced. The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane I used the various levels of TO’s Retinol in Squalane to slowly adjust my skin to retinol. Love them! They soaked in well during autumn and winter, with zero irritation and minimal purging. I did find they absorb better applied alone. Didn’t help my acne much but I did see scar texture improvement! It’s so silky and softening, I can’t imagine another retinol being better for those with dry skin. The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% I honestly don’t notice a difference when I use this serum. It’s for long-term skin health so I didn’t expect much in the couple months of use, but it feels slick on skin for an unfortunate length of time so I dreaded applying it. I prefer my Paula’s Choice antioxidant serums. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Virgin Sea-Buckthorn Fruit Oil This stains tf out of shirts and pillows. Your face will be rusty orange for a couple hours. It smells kind of weird. But it is the most calming, nourishing oil I’ve ever used- moreso than rosehip, marula, jojoba, squalane, even from luxury brands. I’m going to order a refill for my tretinoin journey! It heals extracted blemishes beautifully and leaves skin silky by morning. I can’t recommend this enough for anyone with dry skin and those that pick at their face/acne. The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA If your skin dislikes vitamin c (or you already have a vitamin c serum) but you want to fade hyperpigmentation and uneven tone? This stuff has been a favourite in my routine for years until I switched to the (first) mentioned sister product. It applies light, soaks in quickly, caused no irritation, and I saw rapid results compared to vitamin c. Not as quick as Azelaic Acid, but close! Love it. The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% Not pictured but I love it so immensely. It takes a million years to absorb (expect tacky skin until it does) but the soothing, healing aspect has me dreading when my bottle runs out. For a seriously packed peptide serum, it’s pretty affordable- $28.90 for 30 mL. The inability to mix it with acids is annoying but my blemishes are always so much less red and disappear very quickly when I use this serum. It does have a somewhat metallic scent but I happily deal with it and recommend its sister product (The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' ) as an intro the peptides and this for anyone looking to try out copper peptides for their improved healing properties!

Why my Skincare Routine is Never the Same
Why my Skincare Routine is Never the Same
A friend told me that using too many products can actually make your skin worse after seeing all of the products I have. She’s completely right, using too many at once is no good. In fact, The Ordinary suggested in a recent post to use no more than three serums at a time. This is because the more you use, the less effective they’ll be. Because of this, I stick to a 4 step process. This includes cleansing, exfoliating(PM), using a serum, moisturizing, and using a sunscreen(AM). However, my skin’s needs are different dependent on the day. Because of this, I swap out what I use each step, but making sure to only use one of each step. For example, because of my dry skin, PAULA'S CHOICE - Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser works great. But, after a shift at my local pizzeria, my skin tends to be more oily and I need help from my CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin . By knowing your products and balancing what you use, you should be able to see a noticeable difference in the behavior of your skin!
