Glossier’s Super Glow Vitamin C Serum
I’m just going to come out right here and say it: Glossier’s Super Glow serum is not THAT special or miraculous; its purely the product of amazing packaging and great marketing - kinda like your basic girl next door kinda serum, yknow? But MAN that hasn’t stopped me from repurchasing another bottle even when I’m only halfway through my current one 🥴 That aside, the Super Glow serum is essentially marketed as a daily serum that can help you to achieve that lit-from-within look (this is usually Glossier’s philosophy imo). It contains both vitamin C and magnesium, which helps to rejuvenate skin and even out skin tone. Personally I don’t think this is the strongest vitamin C serum out there in the market, since it only contains 5% of a Vit C derivative (a more stable form of Vit C). This serum targets people like me: you want to boost dullness but at the same time you don’t want anything too potent that might irritate your skin. I felt like this serum works pretty well for me. Because it contains a lower percentage of Vit C, generally I don’t expect to see amazing pigmentation reducing results! But this does help brighten my overall skintone and when I was consistently using this my skin did indeed look brighter in the mornings ✨ The one thing I didn’t really enjoy about Super Glow was its smell. Super Glow has a nice milky emulsion consistency that is nice to apply, and although it is fragrance-free, it has this weird uncomfortable scent that probably comes directly from the ingredients in the serum. The scent does go away after awhile, but that smell was just unexpected for me. I’m not too bothered by it because the serum works well for me, but I can see why some would not enjoy this product if they have a sensitive nose. Overall though I think this is a pretty nice serum to start your Vitamin C journey with! I would repurchase this (already have actually), and I would recommend this to friends want to try vitamin C and have extra coin to spare (this serum is a little pricey)! But if you’re on a budget, then skip this - there are definitely more effective serums out there. I do think that this serum is not worth the amount you spend for. If anything, the 28 USD you are paying for this serum is probably for the Glossier “brand prestige” and that super cute packaging. I definitely think you can get similar serums for a MUCH cheaper price. But we have established that I am a sucker for packaging and I love Glossier, so….. don’t be surprised if I continue purchasing this serum haha 😂 Glossier. - Super Glow Vitamin C + Magnesium Serum

Are they worth the hype? 🤔
#OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Serum[products]#[TwoStars] 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐬: a powerful antiaging serum formulated with vitamin C and collagen for brightening and all-day hydration. 𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: ~ True-C Complex: claims to brighten the skin and fight visible signs of aging with stabilized vitamin C derivatives and antioxidants. ~ Collagen ~ Green Tea Extracts ~ Aloe Juice ~ Fragrances‼️ *𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐫- I did not purchase this bottle but I have previously used the truth serum couple years back. First of all, the serum’s consistency is amazing. It’s one of the few Vitamin C serums of which texture I really liked. I find it lightweight, does not feel oily and is absorbed by skin fairly well. However, it really had done absolutely nothing to my skin. I have used up the 0.5oz bottle and had no benefit from it whatsoever. The scent is amazing though. Honestly, it’s the only thing I had liked and enjoyed. But then again, if I had known about how bad fragrances are two years ago, I would not have wasted my time using this. Sorry! This will do nothing but to irritate your skin more if you’re already suffering from acne, or sensitize your skin eventually -- even if you don’t feel it yet. _________________________________ SK-II - Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) ~ 𝐏𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐀 (𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐲𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞) : A natural bio ingredient derived from yeast fermentation that resembles your skin's Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF); Contains over 50 micro-nutrients like vitamins, minerals, amino acids and organic acids to condition skin's natural functions. *my 2nd 30ml bottle I have used a lot of essences in the past and definitely was expecting SK-ii to live up to all the hype. But sadly it didn’t.. I know for a fact that Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate can be very beneficial for skin. I find it a really hydrating ingredient thus eventually may help soften the texture of your skin, reduce the appearance of dark spots and fine lines, and even the look of skin’s tone - just like what the company claims. I tried to like this product. But to be completely honest, I have not seen any visible result or benefit from using it at all. It definitely gives that nourishing “feel” but that’s about it. Did not help my skin texture or improve my uneven skin tone a lil bit. Perhaps you have to use this for a really long time to reap the benefits. I just don’t think it’s worth the $$$. * 𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬? This review is based only on my personal experience. I definitely think that SK-ii essence can be much more beneficial for mature skin.
SK-II-Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence)
It’s been over a month since I started using The ordinary’s niacinamide and zinc serum. I had a lot of closed comedomes, very textured and dull skin. Safe to say, My skin is much brighter, hydrated and glowy! I have a very sensitive skin so I only use it at night every other day. And if I chemical exfoliate, I give myself a couple days off from niacinamide to avoid any more acids to my face. Thats just how my sensitive my face is. Definitely will keep using this serum. Never felt more confident than I do now! Love this product.
The Ordinary-Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
serum combination that brightened my dull skin
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA I’ve always had dull skin and have tried many different ways to brighten up my skin, from different remedies to make ups. Most of the remedies that I’ve tried had no effect and I’ve also tried to use make up to give my skin a more radiant feel to it, but that usually doesn’t last long or was a hassle to my daily routine. That was until I found these two serums by The Ordinary and used them together as a combination. I found this suggestion online while browsing for a remedy. At first I was skeptical because I’ve tried many different products before this with little to no results. However, after my first usage, I was able to see a noticeable difference in my skin. After some research, I discovered that one of the ingredients inside this serum, niacin-amide (vitamin B3), helps reduce the appearance of skin blemishes, which helps brighten my skin tone. Another ingredient is zinc, which helps regulate sebum activity. This is great for me, because one of the main reasons why my skin is so dull, is due to my skins over oiliness. The sebum activity is the skins natural way of keeping your skin moisturized and healthy. However, if this process works too well, or too effectively, it results in oily skin. So the zinc in this product helps regulate my sebum activity to help prevent my own skin from becoming extra oily from it’s own natural process. The alpha arbutin helps reduce hyper-pigmentation. After discovering these two products, I’ve been hooked and it’s helped solve my dull skin issue.

How to Use Vitamin C in Skincare?
Vitamin C is a very popular skincare ingredient for years. It is an essential nutrient which deplete as we age. It is also known as L-ascorbic acid. It is one pf the most important antioxidants within the cell to neutralize free radicals. All skin types need vitamin C. UV radiation or pollutants are two main resources of oxidative stress as the mainly causes aging. Vitamin C is working to stop the chain of that reaction to protect skin from aging. At the same time, it also takes part in skin’s natural regeneration process to repair damaged cells. The benefits of having Vitamin C in your skincare process are: - Anti-aging (as mentioned already) by diminishing the appearance of fine lines and winkles; - Brightening and evens out skin tone and acting like a shield from UV light and free radical damage. - Building collagen in cells - Anti-pigmentation Meanwhile there are also side effects like irritation and probably tingling. Let’s take a look and see what Vitamin C in skincare products. It works well with Ferulic acid, Vitamin E or three of them together. Be aware that it may have negative impact when acting with Retinoids or Benzoyl peroxide. In your skin care process, make sure that you wear SPF after using Vitamin C. Cause it oxidize really fast and you don’t want your skin to look sallow. And since it oxidize really fast, do not use if it is oxidized already in containers. You may also want to store your skincare products that contains vitamin C in a cool dark, dry place o prevent from oxidation. DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum Personally I like to go with a Vitamin C serum. When you choose serums, there are a few point you should be aware of: forms of vitamin C; packaging (oxidation); and concentration. Some product with Hight concentration would have side effects like irritation. In your skincare process, agood rule of thumb is to cleanse, tone, vitamin C serum, and then moisturize. One thing I really love about drunk elephant serum is that It isn’t too potent or harsh. The results were not immediate and you do need to be somewhat patient with. It felt a bit too sticky in the beginning but later on my skin began to love it. And the result is great. This bottle is almost gone and I can see it brightened and evened out my skin tone.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
