Best makeup for sensitive skin
Here is a list of the best makeup products for sensitive skin that are infused with a host of soothing and calming ingredients to ensure your skin does not get irritated or inflamed even after a day of full-face makeup.
Certainly stands a cut above the rest
I have to feature the toofaced Hangover 3-in-1 facial mist! This product is meant to be a primer plus a setting spray with skin-loving ingredients all in one adorable pink bottle. Among my skincare and makeup collection, this packaging certainly stands a cut above the rest. The mist's main ingredient appears to be coconut water, a hydrating heavy hitter, which means this setting spray will work double duty, helping seal makeup and locking moisture into skin. It also has probiotic lactobacillus, which, by the way, is quite trendy in skincare with the idea being that "good" bacteria helps to keep skin in balance and regulate skin issues. I'm pretty happy with the ingredient deck, which is also silicone-, alcohol- and oil-free. The first thing I notice when I use the spray is the way it smells strongly like sweet coconut, fortunately it's not irritating for my sensitive skin. The nozzle itself is intense, sometimes it comes out in big droplets. However, if I hold it a little bit far away from my face, it spreads quite evenly across my face. I mostly use it as a pick-me-up refresher throughout the day. I love dewy and glowy skin but hate looking oily, and this primer lets me achieve this look. It doesn't leave the skin feeling tacky, instead it makes my skin feels hydrated. Also, the refreshing and replenishing power to my makeup look in the middle of the day are wonderful. However, as a primer and setting spray, it definitely helps with removing the powdery look of makeup while adding just a touch of healthy glow. It helps make my skin look more like skin, so if I use mattifying products, it will help the skin look a bit more natural. On the flip side, I don't think it made my makeup last any longer.

Non-Texturizing Primer for Acne & Sensitive Skin
YAS! Finally! A primer I can actually use on my face without worrying about major breakouts, dryness, or added texture! Those who have larger pores this ones for you too! 😃😃 I didn’t want to rave or get happy about a product without using it for awhile and this is especially true of primers. Many primers on the market add to the creation of major breakouts, feel too heavy/sticky, enhance my skin texture, smell, or pill. I have been officially using this product for about a month EVERY time I use foundation and I can definitely say this is a winner! In the first photo you’ll see the texture of the PEACH & LILY - Skin Shield Blurring Primer and the after photo is with both foundation and primer on. I used IPSA’s Retexturizing Foundation for this photo. Since trying for a month, I have not experienced any major breakouts. Maybe one pimple here or there. It’s a definite upgrade from having your ENTIRE chin/jawline area breakout all at once every time I use a different primer with foundation. The consistency of the primer is very light and watery. According to Peach and Lily, it is made to protect against pollution, blue light, toxins, makeup, etc. This formula has ZERO silicones! Some silicones can clog your skin, causing breakouts. I’ve noticed that as it dries, it doesn’t feel like your skin gets forcefully tightened and dry. The formula is hydrating and dries like a mist- undetected and in a subtle manner. It adds a natural, second-skin glow to your foundation that you can see in the after photo. If your foundation is matte and you want it to stay that way, this formula shouldn’t drastically alter your foundation’s finish. Regardless it will help promote the longevity of your makeup. Tips for applying: You only need a small amount per facial part(forehead, cheeks, chin, nose). The amount I placed in the photo is literally the same amount I place on these areas of the face. Rub it in with clean hands after applying your skincare routine! For those of you who have slightly large pores, good news! I was happy to see this product not further increase my pore size! It actually minimized them. During the times where my acne is healing and there are dry patches, it actually helped moisturize the areas and didn’t increase texture(no extra bumps/creases showed). My foundation did last me over 8 hours when using this primer! I highly recommend this product, especially for those of you who have dry, acne-prone, and sensitive skin. If you have oily skin, try using this product with a bit of powder before applying your foundation to promote longevity. Happy Priming!

I’d rather get COAL than this for Christmas!
I’d rather get COAL than this CC cream! This product markets itself as a best selling award winning color correcting full coverage cream. It contains hyaluronic acid, peptides, and collagen to smooth skin and even skin tone. You wouldn’t know because the texture of this is the absolute worst. I purchased this on the recommendation of a Sephora employee when I was looking for something light with SPF to wear on vacation. This is the shade “light,” and for reference in my favorite foundation (luminous silk by Giorgio Armani) I am shade 5.5 - the color match on this is wild. Next, the texture of this is gloopy. It settles into my pores like dirt and makes my skin look flaky. It doesn’t smooth on evenly and is pretty much unwearable. I’m not sure if it’s because of the high SPF or what, but it does my sensitive skin absolutely no favors and looks dry and dusty. Even if it was $5 it wouldn’t be worth it, but the regular size product is $39. Would definitely not recommend under any circumstances! it Cosmetics - it Cosmetics CC+ Cream SPF 50+

Makeup Routine for Sensitive Skin
I have sensitive normal-dry skin (depending on the time of year) and always look for products that are lightweight, hydrating, soothing, and that cover redness. With sensitive skin, you want to be careful when selecting and applying your makeup; your skin is likely very easily agitated and if you’re like me, you’re often dealing with redness. I struggle with redness on my cheeks, around my nose, and on my chin. For the most part, I try to avoid any products (especially face makeup) that is super heavily fragranced, because I can pretty much guarantee it’ll make my redness worse and/or cause a breakout. Here are some of the products that work for me and my sensitive skin and help to give me an even, glowy, but natural look! 1. COVER FX - Water Cloud Primer - this primer is very hydrating and soothing, it also helps to protect against blue light and pollution. I like to start with a hydrating primer, especially in the cold weather months, because my skin tends to be drier and I want my makeup to look smooth and even. If you find that your makeup clings to dry patches, make sure you are exfoliating 1-2 times weekly and adding moisture back into your skin with your skincare! 2. Quo - Quo Liquid Foundation (shade C3 Vanilla) - this foundation has a satin finish and always gives me a healthy glow (if you are oily you may need to set with powder but should still be able to wear this). I only use maybe 5-6 drops for my whole face because I like to still be able to see my actual skin. 3. HALEYS - Re:Cover Pressed Powder Foundation (shade 2.15 in the winter and 2.25 in the summer) - I am obsessed with this powder foundation; it melts into my skin and is so natural looking. It doesn’t make me look cakey or powdery and is so easy and quick to use. Typically I either wear this alone or I’ll use a bit of it over my liquid foundation in my t-zone to set it. 4. tarte - Shape Tape Concealer (shade Fair) - this is a holy grail in the beauty world for good reason, it has amazing coverage (can be drying). I apply a dot of this near the corner of my eye and another one near the outer corner, if my redness is really bad, I’ll also use a bit of this around my nose and on my chin. 5. ILIA - NightLite Bronzer Powder (shade Novelty) - I use a bronzer year round to warm up my skin & give a glow. This one is super pigmented so be careful! 6. essence - Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara (shade 02 Browny Brows) - I loooove this stuff, it’s so quick and easy and holds up really well throughout the day. Also it’s like $3!! 7..HONEST - Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer - this stuff is amazing! It has a primer on one end and really does give amazing length. 8.DIOR - Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss - gives my lips the best glossy look! It’s iconic for a reason😉 #CheriePartner
