Get Rid Of The Facial Scars
Get Rid Of The Facial Scars
Let me just start this post out by saying that I wished I had the information and know how about healthy skincare back when I was a teenager. Over 20+ years ago, I had horrible horrible facial acne... and yes, I picked and picked at my skin. Now in my adulthood, I still deal with acne and also scarring from my teenage years. I slowly started seeing improvements in my acne flare ups but the scars on my face were just NOT going away. Here’s to today’s post.... I have been using Peter Thomas Roth products for a while now and have always had great results. Their newest Niacinamide Discoloration Treatment has been really helping with my scarring. I haven’t used it THAT long... just a few weeks or so. But I can see the difference in the discoloration around my chin and forehead area (where I have the most scarring). This product DOES has a higher potency but it really has worked well with my sensitive skin. I have seen a real improvement in my red spots and I really feel like it’s helped my acne flare ups as well. I cannot wait for the day when I don’t have to cake on the concealer to hide my scars!! 💕 PETER THOMAS ROTH - Pro Strength Niacinamide Discoloration Treatment

Who squeezes their spots??? Me
Who squeezes their spots??? Meee!!!!! 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️ I sound proud, but i am not and deffo don’t recommend it given the awful PIH (post inflammatory pigmentation) it almost always leaves behind! I experienced a seasonal acne phenomenon that invaded my face, which I squeezed🤦🏼‍♀️and which left me with the worst post spot marks EVER! I started reaching for the renskincare wake wonderful night time facial for help, a product I had for a while but didn’t really feel did anything for me pre-PIH phase. Primarily it contains lactic acid for exfoliation (fyi if you cant tolerate acids- lactic acid is far gentler than glycolic acid and may work better for you), it also has soothing & calming ingredients like cranberry seed oil and shea butter. PLUS plenty of skin brightening fruit and yeast extracts! iv used it for 3 weeks and with each use notice marks fade slightly. 👍🏻 Definitely one for long term use but im happy to report im seeing results!

Let’s crush the acne scars!
Let’s crush the acne scars!
Our face is our crown jewel. It’s the first thing people see and when it’s scarred because of previous acne or skin conditions it could make us feel very self-conscious. I have combination skin and have previously suffered from cystic acne as a teenager. Gratefully and after a lot of effort I got rid of all the acne by the use of multiple things. Fortunately for me and for you, it worked and I can share some products to help you out as well! What is most important about any skincare routine whether it is for acne issues, dryness, scarring or whatever it is, it all needs CONSISTENCY. It will all be worth it once you start seeing results! The first thing I tried is using the THE BODY SHOP - Jumbo Tea Tree Oil Tea tree oil is known to have antiseptic properties, it smells amazing and the nice thing is that it is called an oil but it doesn’t feel heavy at all, it feels more liquid than you would expect an oil would. You apply it to the affected areas (directly on your spots) and it differs from face to face, you can apply it overnight after you’ve finished with your cleansing routine. For my face, I felt like it worked on certain areas that weren’t too deeply scarred but for the more deeply scarred areas, I didn’t really feel its strong affect. It also took a long time for it to work. I love it because it feels nice but it honestly only works on shallow scars and it takes a really long time to start seeing results, so I wanted something more effective. For deeper scarring that was either too dark or has been there too long, I preferred using two other products. One is Superfade and the other is Pharmaceris intensive whitening night cream. Both are only used at night after your entire routine and both require time to work but both are very much worth it! It took longer for the Pharmaceris cream to work and my favorite is actually Superfade although it smells very garlic-y for some reason and its texture is more slimy, but as long as it does the work it’s supposed to, I don’t mind if it smells horrible! Just get me rid of my acne scars! I would use it during a period when I felt like my face had too many spots and I would put it on my entire face before bed, you should really avoid any type of light when you have it on. The next few days I would start feeling my face getting dry and over the period of the month I would honestly feel like it’s magic how my scars and spots slowly became invisible.

C Section Scarring
C Section Scarring
This post is a little different. Its still technically a skincare product but its not your typical cream with actives. So 8 months ago, I gave birth to Yara via C-section, after 20 hours inactive labour- she really just didnt want to come out. As we all know, C-sections leave behind a pretty undesirable scar, and one of my friends who’d gone through a C-section herself gave me this product to help with the scarring. This is a unique product in that, there are actually no actives, its just a tension-relieving silicone-y type bandage. Its meant to relieve tension around the tissue and basically keeps the incision from scarring as it heals. You’re supposed to use this in the first 6-8 weeks if possible, but using it in the first 6 months is ideal, before the scar sets. I honestly didnt want to anything on my incision for the first 6 weeks. When I finally did start using it, about 2 months in, I quickly realized it was actually hard to place, and really finnicky with staying on. Its supposed to adhere for 10 days, and honestly that wasnt the case for me- max 5 days and with every shower, the adhesive became weaker. I went through 2 boxes (each box containing three bandages for an expected 30-day treatment) before I finally got the hang of how to place it, but it would still not stay on for more than 5 days. . Did it work? Ya, I think so. I mean not completely, I still have a scar and its still quite evident, but I can tell the incision appears thinner in areas that the adhesive stuck to better and is lighter in those areas as well- less red and inflamed. To be fair, the product does not claim that it will completely prevent a scar- just claims that it will keep it from becoming a deep, bumpy, textured scar, and I think it did do that. I still have to live with a large scarred incision on my lower abdomen though. . But honestly, the more time passes, the less the appearance of the scar really matters to me. As more time passed, the thought that this scar was product of a safe and healthy delivered baby becomes more reassuring that the scar doesnt really bother me (that much) anymore. And this may sound cheesy and all- but really a healthy baby is all that matters❤

Cosrx Centella Cream - EMPTY +
Cosrx Centella Cream - EMPTY + Thoughts Claims to control es, calm & uce the size of scars from repeated troubles. It also hydrates, improves and relieves sensitive . ✨ 〰️ I bought this in the first place because I wanted something for my when it decides to break out. I used this for my whole face but I had to apply it by portion because it dried quickly which made it harder to blend on the and it also left white casts (which I really hate). Now, I just read that you're not supposed to apply it on your entire face but only on the areas where there are es and . But ya know, I had to put it everywhere because why not. HAHA 💁🏻‍♀️ 〰️ I noticed that it helped a lot with my and . I swear it minimized it and it really did calm my . This cream lasted for a while and for the scars, it didn't do much. BUT maybe because I didn't religiously apply it.. 😅 (which might also explain why it lasted for a while hahaha) 〰️ To be honest, I didn't really enjoy applying this product and that's why I'm so proud of myself because I got to empty it! YAY 💖 . I probably won't repurchase. I'm not saying that it's a bad product - it's just my preference when it comes to the texture and "pleasure" of application. (HAHA) I'd like to hear your thoughts on this one!
