my favorite serums!☺️
my favorite serums!☺️
hello everyone! today i am sharing three of my favorite serums that i use everyday. i have done more in depth reviews on both the face milk and the niacinamide if you are interested, but here are some quick reviews of my three favorite serums☺️ personally i have very oily, acne prone skin, and i have really terrible acne scars on one prt of my face. ive had a very hard time controlling my acne, but these serums help. my acne scars are only getting worse though, so my mom might have me go to a dermatologist 😐 anyways, these products do do a lot of great things for all skin types! my favorite of the three is The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% ! this product is really affordable, i think its about $7. i cant afford much else, nor do i u understand why people would pay $30+ for nearly the same exact forumula😂 this product is made with 10% niacinamide, which is a really great ingredient for acne. this has minimized my pores SIGNIFICANTLY, and has reduced my redness as well. it helps control my oil, and has helped heal my less-severe acne marks fast. it feels like a watery gel, and absorbs really fast!💧 this product is also great for older people, as it helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles! next is my Fourth Ray - Watermelon Face Milk . im not sure if this technically qualifies as a serum because its a “face milk”, but regardless its quite good. its a moisturizing face milk that is made for people with oily skin! fourth ray makes others for other skin types, too. this formula is made with watermelon, which helps calm irritation and boost collagen production! 🍉 everytime i use it, it makes my skin feel sooo hydrated! it has a very milky texture, and soaks into the skin pretty fast. i dont really understand why people dont like this product 🤷🏼‍♀️ finally is my newest product, The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA . this product is a skin lightening product (but not a skin bleaching product as those are very harmful). this targets things like hyperpigmentation and dark spots. ive been using it recently only on the patch of my face that has acne scars, because i dont want to lighten my freckles. it has done a pretty good job for my less severe acne scars, but my severe ones are going to need some more taking care of😣 this product is the same exact texture as the niacinamide. its also absorbs quite fast, too. its $8.90, so its also quite inexpensive! i just wish it could take away my purple acne marks, but i guess not😔 anyways, lemme know what u think of these products in the comments! dont forget to follow and cheer for more☺️ #CheriePartner

My Favorite Serums for Combo Skin
My Favorite Serums for Combo Skin
I love serums and use at least two in my skincare routine every day! I have oily, combo skin that is breakout prone and hyperpigmentation. Serums help with all my concerns and are essential to my healthy skin goals! Hydrating Serum - every skin needs hydration! Since I have oily, combo skin I like using a lightweight, gel based hydrating serum so it isn't too much for my skin to tolerate and doesn't lead to breakouts. Hydration is also key to fighting pigmentation! My favorite hydrating serum is the iS CLINICAL - Hydra-Cool Serum because the lightweight, cooling and adds that extra layer of hydration that I'm looking for. It's packed full of healing antioxidants like centella asiatica, vitamin B5 and kojic acid and safe for all skin types. iS Clinical is clinically proven and the prices reflect that - this serum retails for $94 for 1 oz. of product. I will repurchase this and do recommend it, but there are tons of fantastic hydrating serums that are way more affordable than this! Treatment Serum - my favorite treatment serum is always going to be something to address my hyperpigmentation. It's my number one skin concern and I target it using Vitamin C. The BeautyStat COSMETICS - Universal C Skin Refiner is my go-to Vitamin C because it's backed by science, doesn't lose efficacy, and has lasted me months! It's also a high percentage vitamin C serum so the results happen fast! This product is safe for all skin types but because of the high percentage of vitamin C I would suggest sensitive skin test this product first! Retailing for $80 this Vitamin C is expensive, but in terms of high end Vitamin C serums it's on the lower side. I also always find discount codes for the brand and haven't bought it at full price yet! I'd absolutely recommend this Vitamin C, even over the beloved CE Ferulic by Skinceuticals. CBD Serum - my favorite "oil" serum to use is CBD because it's a lightweight oil that sinks into the skin and doesn't leave an oily finish. CBD has tons of benefits for the skin, but I use it to calm and soothe my skin if it's irritated by breakouts or if I'm having an side effects from using a retinoid. My favorite CBD serum is the FLORA+BAST - Age Adapting CBD Serum that retails for $77 at Sephora. It's made of 100% TCH-free cannabis oil and even smells like that plant which I find extremely calming. I use it mostly in my night routine as my final step after all my other skincare and moisturizer. I would definitely recommend it! I only need a few drops for my face and neck, so haven't had to repurchase yet but will be soon! All-Rounder Serum - this is the multitasking serum that does it all! For me this serum needs to be hydrating and support my moisture barrier, it's less focused on active ingredients. The LANCÔME - Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Serum does that for me! It's hydrating, anti-aging and supports my skin. #CheriePartner

I have sensitive combo skin that is acne-prone and these are my favorite skincare serums! A lot of my serums are focused in helping with acne and its aftermath and these are the best I’ve found. ✨Antioxidant Pore Purifier by Paula’s Choice $31 for 1oz This serum has salicylic acid in it and white tea. It is meant to unclog pores and help with airborne pollutants. It’s a light fluid that is the tiniest bit sticky on skin before adding a moisturizer. Before finding this, I was dealing with a lot of really intense cystic acne. After using for about two months, I eased up on this product and noticed my breakouts got worse which is when I realized what an effect this was having for my skin. I eventually did ease out of regular use and my skin has been behaving but if it does get bad again, I’m definitely repurchasing this product. ✨Very Cherry Bright by Farmacy $62 for 1oz This is a lightweight Vitamin C serum by Farmacy made with four forms of Vitamin C, the most obvious being from the Acerola Cherry extracts which make this smell so good! This serum is gorgeous. It’s lightweight and effective. This is a clean brand and comes in packaging that is meant to reduce oxidation which makes Vitamin C serums less effective. I find this helps with red spots, scarring, brightening and fighting free radicals. My biggest issue is the price but this brand does regular sales which helps. I’m about to try the Naturium Vitamin C Complex so we will see how that compares given the lower price point. Stay tuned! I’m also liking the Naturium Niacinamide one a lot. ✨Great Barrier Relief by Krave $28 for 1.52 fl oz This is a moisture barrier saving serum by Krave which I fall more and more in love with each use. It has Tamanu Oil, Safflower Oil, Rosehip Oil, Vitamin B3 and Ceramide for for skin regeneration, hyperpigmentation, anti-aging, brightening, acne-fighting and generally repairing a damaged skin barrier. This serum is turning into an all time favorite. I actually use this after a lighter Vitamin C serum on my mask area and it’s been helping to prevent breakouts from mask wearing. This product mimics your skin’s moisture barrier so it’s great for skin that needs help from too many actives, sunburn, etc. ✨Honeymoon Glow by Farmacy $58 for 1 oz This is an nighttime resurfacing serum that for me gets rid of breakouts and leaves me glowing the next morning. It has AHA, flower acids and honey in it. It tingles a bit when first applied but that quickly stops. I couldn’t go without this one and have a back-up. I like to use acids like this with a stronger nightly moisturizer like Healing Ointment by CeraVe! I use this maybe twice a week at most. 🌸What serums are you loving? My skin type: combo, acne prone, sensitive, rosacea My skin concerns: acne, dark spots, dryness, hyperpigmentation, redness CAUDALIE - Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum + perfect for oily skin types, this serum controls sebum production! + I use it whenever my acne is getting out of my hand (or maskne), and it usually cleans my pores out better than other similar serums. Best for me in the mornings, always followed by spf. + makes my pores appear less noticeable (you can’t really shrink them like the claims suggest but they do look “better”) + I love the glass bottle! Easily recyclable and feels luxe. + smells fresh and clean + ingredients: salicylic acid, grape seed, essential oils (important to note cause you could be allergic or sensitive) + $49, not great, but lasts me forever Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Liquid + marketed as a moisturizing toner, but is very thick to be a toner + I use in the am or pm, after tonight and before actives and my moisturizer. + smells a little funky, like herbal-ly but like tea? + moisturizes and hydrates very well, but takes a while to sink in. + repairs my moisture barrier pretty fast, the ceramides really work hard and fast. + makes my skin supple and bouncy + ingredients: ceramide complex, fig, cica, and phyto extracts + $39 for 5oz which is INSANE for how long this has lasted me (about a year with use every other day or so) AUGUST & LEO SKIN - CC Glow Serum + vitamin c serum by a brand owned by a Black woman! + not sticky, but I really was sure it would be. I am surprised every time I try it. It sinks in fast, too. + smells like those orange wedge candies! I thought the fragrance would be irritating but it’s not. + doesn’t pill, works well with my other products. + I use it in my PM routine only. + helps fade my dark spots faster than they would face on their own! + ingredients: vitc is made from 5% sodium ascorbyl phosphate, German chamomile and hyaluronic acid are also included. + $62 is maybe not worth it, but I have seen good results so far. #CheriePartner

The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 My favorite serum is hyaluronic acid . Why ? It alleviates dry skin . Reduces the size of your pores . Provides additional hydration After cleansing I apply this serum first . The ordinary is my favorite brand because of its effectiveness and price. The most important factor in choosing a serum is knowing what I need the most and knowing my skin type . I apply this in the am and the pm. GOOD MOLECULES - Discoloration Correcting Serum Main ingredient : Also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinamide, niacinamide is a water-soluble vitamin that works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly minimize enlarged pores, tighten lax pores, improve uneven skin tone, soften fine lines and wrinkles, diminish dullness, and strengthen a weakened surface I’ve been using this for about a month and a half and I see improvements . This goes on after my The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 . I use this in the am and pm everyday . The price of this product is only 12 bucks . Formulated with an advanced form of tranexamic acid (cetyl tranexamate mesylate) and 4% niacinamide. This lightweight serum improves the appearance of age spots, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage. I’ve seen major improvements . Comment a heart it you would like to see my improvements . Last but not least I love pixi - Rose Oil Blend because it’s super moisturizing . Vitamin e is a great because it helps support the immune system, cell function, and skin health. It's an antioxidant, making it effective at combating the effects of free radicals produced by the metabolism of food and toxins in the environment. Vitamin E may be beneficial at reducing UV damage to skin. Rosehip oil is rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants, which are integral for tissue and cell regeneration in the skin. It's no wonder that the oil has long been used as a folk remedy for wound healing, as well as the reduction of scars and fine lines. Antioxidants are great for people with hyperpigmentation . It treats the damaged skin cells . This is the last step in my serum regimen and I use it at least four times a week .
