My Everyday Makeup Routine for a Natural Look
I’m a natural-makeup kind of gal all year round. But, I emphasize this in the spring and summer! The warmer weather is the perfect time to emphasize glowy and dewy skin topped off with a glossy lip. Of course, everyone’s different! This is what works for me, though. I start with this Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot primer. It’s the closest thing I could find to Benefit’s iconic POREfessional! The results are almost identical and it costs a fraction of the price. Then, if I’m using any foundation at all, it’s Maybelline’s classic Fit Me. This formula has served me well since high school. Since I don’t use foundation too much in the warmer months, this is perfect for a quick look. For my face, I love Milani’s blushes. They’re so cute and the color is nearly perfect for my skin tone. I love the way it blends with my NYX bronzer, too. For my eyes, I’m still obsessed with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture palette! It’s super versatile and I love putting Adorn on my lid, Mercury in my crease and Electric in my inner corner. My eyebrows and lips are the easiest steps. On my brows, I usually just fill them in with a light brown eyeshadow very gently. Or, I’ll simply coat them with this Maybelline clear mascara! It works well on eyebrows, too, when you just want a natural look. However, if I’m feeling fancy, I’ll go in with Benefit’s Gimme Brow. It’s a cult classic for a reason! The application is super easy and it lasts a long time! I just don’t have one on me right now. Quarantine life🤷🏼♀️. Even though I’m spending a lot of time inside in my sweats these days, I like to pamper myself with a light makeup look on some days! That’s why I’ve been focusing on using up my drugstore products vs splurging on anything super expensive. But, some exciting stuff is in the works from our favorite brands! I’m soooo excited to review those😊.

I can’t live without a good lip liner 💋
A lip liner is ESSENTIAL in my makeup routine when I’m wearing makeup. In recent years, the definition of my lips has been fading and a lip liner is crucial for me as a tool to help me through applying a lipstick or lip gloss. As you can see above in my before/after picture, it makes a WORLD of a difference since you can actually see where my lips begin and end LOL. Depending on the look I’m going for, I’ll use different shades but “going steady” by Essence essence - Soft Contouring Lipliner has been my go-to for SO LONG! This is the PERFECT lip liner (the texture is a bit matte but it’s not too drying) since it’s so buildable and it lasts forever. Best part? It’s $2!!!! WHAT!!! Yep. The only downside I’d say is that it’s a true lip pencil so you have to use a sharpener when it’s too dull...but that doesn’t bother me, I’d rather pay $2 than $20+ for a twisty lip liner. I recommend trying this formula if you’re in the market for something new! I usually top it off with a tinted lip balm or lip oil and it lasts at least 5 hours. I have to rate it 5/5 for my amazing experience!

My daily makeup routine :)
Oh HEY my to go look takes me about 6 minutes and as you can tell, I am very proud DERMABLEND - Flawless Creator Multi-Use Liquid Foundation Drops This wouldn’t be my post if I didn’t mention this product ( HOLY GRAIL) DERMABLEND - Illuminating Banana Powder Amazing at letting my makeup sit, wouldn’t recommend for my oily friends though! ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade I know this product has been retired by the makeup community however after using this product for 4+ years, I consider myself a master now. I love that a little goes a long way (I’m only on pomade #2) VASANTI - Bloom Mineral Blush This was a random purchase I made last year yet I absolutely love to use this daily. I only put enough for me to see 😂 NYX - Soft Matte Metallic Lip Cream I’ve purchased over 20 of these in the last 3 years because 1. I’m always losing them, 2. It’s the perfect shade for me 🥺

Need New Makeup Routine
Hi! So I'm finding my makeup routine isn't working as well as it used to. I'm currently using the Nyx Pore Filler Primer, Maybelline FitMe Foundation (I've tried both the matte and dewy), e.l.f. camo hydrating concealer, Maybelline BB Cream, and the Maybelline FitMe Loose Powder to finish (all linked below). I moisturize beforehand with an oil free moisturizer and use a moist makeup sponge to apply. My big issues are cakiness/creasing, rough skin from acne and scarring, redness, lots of visible pores, visible dark circles, and some dry patches near my eyes. I have combination skin so my cheeks and nose are VERY oily but my forehead and skin around my eyes is more dry. I'm just not getting the coverage I want and my face doesn't look smooth in the slightest. I'd like to stay on the cheaper side but would be willing to spend more for a product that really works. Any help is appreciated, thank you! My Lazy Girl Makeup Routine
This routine is my go-to, everyday, makeup routine that takes less than 10 minutes. As you can see in my before photo, I have some redness and a couple of small breakouts. Typically what I focus on with my quick makeup routine is to even out my skin tone, add a bit of colour, and make my super blonde lashes & brows visible😆 1. First things first, I cleanse my skin with a micellar water and moisturize. If I have more time to get ready, I’ll go in with serums and treatments, but when I’m in a hurry I stick to basic skincare. 2. I always apply spf, and this SKINCEUTICALS - Physical Fusion Uv Defense SPF 50 is my absolute favourite. It’s tinted and gives such a nice healthy glow to the skin (it’s not shimmery or sparkly at all). 3. Next, I apply my FENTY BEAUTY - Match Stix Matte Skinstick (in the shade Linen) under my eyes, around my nose, and on my chin to help cover up some redness. This formula is honestly not my favourite for concealer, it’s quite dry and sometimes hard to blend but I’m just trying to use it up. I also have the highlight and contour shades and I do not like the highlight at all but don’t mind the contour shade (again, they’re both very dry). 4. Then I go over my entire face with my HALEYS - Re:Cover Pressed Powder Foundation (in shade 2.15) I just love this stuff. I’m a big fan of powder foundations in general because I find them so quick and easy to use. This formula melts right into my skin and I don’t find it to be drying at all on me. It has great coverage and doesn’t appear to be caky or too powdery on my skin. 5. I love a multi-use product for saving time and this cocokind - Chagaglo Bronze Highlighter is just that. I use a little bit of it on my cheeks to warm up my face and also dab it on my eyelids to add a little bronzy shimmer. It’s creamy and blends out well but doesn’t slide all over the place - love this one! 6. Next I added a bit of the ILIA - Color Haze Multi-Use Pigment to my cheeks and lips, I have the shade Before Today and it’s a beautiful petal pink. 7. Now it’s time for brows and I always use my essence - Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara (in shade 03) this stuff is SO GOOD and it’s like $3, I always purchase multiples at a time so I never run out. This one is the perfect shade for me and gives my brows great definition, hold, and colour. 8. Next up - lashes. I just started using this HONEST - Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer and it’s awesome! It has a primer on one end and the mascara on the other. I’m super impressed with the length it gives my lashes and the formula is very black. 9. My last step is spritzing my face with my CAUDALIE - CAUDALIE Beauty Elixir , this is a step that I never miss. I feel like it really blends everything together and makes it look much more natural. #CheriePartner

My Everyday Makeup Routine for Today!
This is basically my everyday make up that I do. Sometimes I switch up with the foundation base depending on how I feel. The same goes for eyeliner. Products I used in order to achieve the look: TATCHA - The Water Cream LANCÔME - UV Expert Aquagel Defense Primer & Moisturizer SPF 50 Rare Beauty - Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer (Color: 250W) ILIA - True Skin Serum Foundation (Color: Texel) LANCÔME - Long Time No Shine Loose Setting Powder benefit - Hoola Matte Bronzer ETUDE - Drawing Eye Brow (Color: Brown) benefit - Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel (Color: 3) URBAN DECAY - Naked Reloaded Eyeshadow Palette Lise Watier Feline Eyeliner in Brown tarte - SEA Surfer Curl Volumizing Mascara NARS - Limited Edition Orgasm Blush (mini version) Rare Beauty - Positive Light Liquid Luminizer (Color: Mesmerize) All of these products I've used for a long time other than Rare Beauty (which recently came out but it's amazing for its price!). Most of the products I've also at least bought them twice or more. The way I did my make-up today I was able to do a natural glow with a bit of contouring. Reminder, I don't go ham on using my foundation or concealer. I usually just dab a small amount on each side. Hope you guys enjoy!

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
