Hyperpigmentation & Redness?! THIS IS THE CURE!
Hyperpigmentation & Redness?! THIS IS THE CURE!
Peter Thomas Roth : G R E E N R E L E A F S L E E P C R E A M🌿 •this product is a calming, soothing, night time moisturizer with CBD oil. •this product is supposed to relieve redness, irritation, uneven texture & skin tone, and dullness. •it is a cream texture that isn’t too thick or too thin. •it is also not super greasy or sticky, it’s just right! HONESTY: •I have been loving this cream and have used it everyday for about 2 weeks. It has improved my skin significantly and I have seen so much less irritation, dryness, and redness! I suffer from eczema and this product has soothed my skin so much! •I love that this cream is hydrating but doesn’t make my skin unbearably greasy or tacky. Also, I haven’t seen any breakouts while using it! •I would definitely recommend this product, especially with the weather changing and the air getting dryer. It’s great for soothing irritation so I would even recommend this as a dry-patch spot treatment! •The price tag on this cream is a little steep ($65) but I think it’s worth the price because a tiny dot of this stuff could cover your whole face. Also, the quality is great! RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ •I am giving this sleep cream 5 out of 5 stars! It works so well and the results speak for themselves for me. I will definitely be purchasing a full size as soon as possible!PETER THOMAS ROTH - Green Releaf Therapeutic Sleep Cream

YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner The Youth to The People kombucha power toner is marketed as a toner for smoothing skin, minimizing the appearance of pores, firming the skin, and lightening hyperpigmentation with its 11% acid blend. This product is labeled to be best for anyone dealing with dull or uneven texture, or loss of skin firmness and elasticity. The toner is s very lightweight liquid, and a little bit goes a long way. I put about 5 drops onto a cotton pad and gently swipe it across my face. The suggested use of this product is 3 to 5 times per week, working up to nightly use. I personally don’t feel the need to use this that many days a week. I have been using it 2 times a week for the past month and I feel that’s often enough for me. Some people claim to experience a little tingling with this product, as it does have a bit of a higher acid concentration. I didn’t feel any tingling, my skin did get a little red but it went away after a moment. I do find that if you use too much product, it can make your skin feel a little sticky after, so be careful not to oversaturate the cotton pad. Other than the very brief redness, I haven’t had any adverse effects. After using this consistently, any post inflammatory hyperpigmentation I get lightens so much faster and better than before I started using it. Besides the fact that this toner works well for me, it’s also vegan, cruelty free, and contained in recyclable glass packaging. I would definitely recommend this product to others, and will be buying it again. I took one star off the rating because at $38 for 4oz. this product is a lot more costly than similar exfoliating toners.

What to avoid if you have Hyperpigmentation
What to avoid if you have Hyperpigmentation
People with melanin are more prone to suffer from hyperpigmentation and there are some steps you can take to avoid it. Hyperpigmentation is caused from an overproduction of pigment and is categorized as a skin condition. Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation or PIH is very common for people with cystic acne (within the Fitzpatrick scale III to VI), and is pigmentation caused by trauma, medications, injury or inflammation. The first thing to avoid if you have hyperpigmentation is picking at your skin, as this can lead to more hyperpigmentation. When you damage the skin's DNA it causes the body to produce more melanin. Depending on the type of breakout, if the skin is inflamed there is a high probability that post inflammatory hyperpigmentation is present. Not wearing sunscreen is the second thing to avoid and is probably the thing we are all guilty of doing or worse not reapplying after being active. The UV rays lead to cellular damage and without proper protection from SPF, the UV rays can cause pigmentation to become darker. CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 The third thing to avoid is compromising the skin barrier by over exfoliation, using too many products or excessive friction on the face. The skin's barrier protects it from outside elements (dirt, debris, environmental factors) and is naturally slightly acidic. Over exfoliation from the overuse of acids, causing the skin to be irritated, inflamed, and more sensitive to touch. When the skin's barrier is compromised it is more prone to inflammation which can cause pigmented areas to become darker. COSRX - AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner Finally, avoid using too many products in your daily skin care routine. When using too many exfoliation products, you risk damaging your skin's natural barrier resulting in more pigmentation than you already started with. Another common cause of excessive friction is vigorous cleansing and using a gritty facial scrub containing abrasive materials. It is tempting to add more products into your daily routine, thinking they will all help to eliminate hyperpigmentation. Instead be cautious of quick fixes as they can do more damage than good.

Treating and Preventing Hyperpigmentation
Treating and Preventing Hyperpigmentation
When it comes to hyperpigmentation, your SPF is the most important step in your skincare routine. But what else can you be doing to prevent dark spots from forming or heal ones that you are already experiencing? Enter my tried and true hyperpigmentation protocol: Alpha Arbutin, Vitamin C, Glycolic Acid, and Retinol. The combination of these products not only heals existing spots, but prevent new ones from forming. Prevent: Vitamin C serum is a powerful antioxidant that not only combats signs of aging, it actually improves the efficacy of SPF. Because of this, Vitamin C should be a key part of your daily morning routine. SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum Prevent + Heal: The effects of Vitamin C are also bolstered by the next ingredient in my hyperpigmentation protocol: Alpha Arbutin. AA disrupts the enzymes in our cells that cause melanin production meaning it prevents dark spots from forming when skin is exposed to UV light. When used in conjunction with Vitamin C in your AM routine, this effect is boosted. Your hyperpigmentation will fade as a result of cell turnover without melanin production in new cells. The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA But Alpha Arbutin also works well in your PM routine following the use of an AHA exfoliant, which boosts its absorption into the skin for further protection. And that leads me to the next part of the protocol… Heal: Healing hyperpigmentation relies on cell turnover. There are two ingredients that I rely on to achieve this. First is Glycolic acid, an AHA. As mentioned before, following an AHA with Alpha Arbutin will enhance the absorption and effects of the Alpha Arbutin. But Glycolic Acid is also a very effective exfoliant. Because it’s water soluble, it works on the surface of the skin to gently exfoliate while also having a moisturizing effect. L'ORÉAL - Revitalift Derm Intensives 10% Pure Glycolic Acid Serum The second product for healing I rely on is retinol. Like Alpha Arbutin, retinol has the specific ability to disrupt melanin production which makes it another key player in this protocol. But it also boosts collagen production in the skin, contributing to anti-aging. It’s a common misconception that retinol is an exfoliant due to its ability to irritate skin and cause flaking for some people. But retinol is actually a powerful antioxidant and skin restoring ingredient. SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.5 Retinol Night Cream It is true that for most people combining and AHA with retinol will cause irritation. I like to alternate using glycolic acid and retinol every other evening with a day off in between. And that’s it! The combination of these products in a consistent routine helped me heal severe hyperpigmentation within a month. In addition to my SPF, it has also prevented new spots from forming while combatting signs of aging.

Lightweight, fast-absorbing Korean face oil
Lightweight, fast-absorbing Korean face oil
I’ve been using the AMOREPACIFIC - Botanical Radiance Oil for awhile now. It’s a lightweight oil to wrap up my skincare routine at night. Using it on days like today where I’ve been exposed to the strong Texas sun all day is crucial not only because it balances my skin tone, but it also brightens and moisturizes my skin in and out. Although it’s lightweight and fast-absorbing, the texture makes it a good massaging oil for the face and neck. I was worried it had alcohol as one of the ingredients but thankfully, I haven’t had any irritations as I usually do and the other ingredients such as green tea water, green tea seed oil and castor oil are assuring because my skin loves all of these! The scent is a light botanical scent in my opinion and does not leave oiliness at all. — It definitely is more of a high-end Korean skincare brand, so the price point may not be for everyone ($105). I wish it was more wallet-friendly so everyone can try it out! Although it’s suitable for all skin types, I find it especially helpful for my skin when used at night more than day, and definitely day during the winter.

👋👋Say goodbye to acne scars, dark spots and hyperpigmentation!
👋👋Say goodbye to acne scars, dark spots and hyperpigmentation!
I have oily skin, and acne has always been my concern. But besides this, I am more concerned about acne scars, dark spots and hyper-pigmentation on the face after the acne disappears. These problems are more difficult, because they last longer than acne, and it is more difficult to solve them. Acne marks are usually divided into black and red. Red is easier to deal with than black. However, no matter what type, if you leave them alone, they will precipitate in your skin and form pigmentation. At the same time, if you are used to picking acne with your hands, it is likely to leave acne pits on your face. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Repairing Balm $15 It's a moisturizing cream. This is a funny story. I originally bought it for moisturizing, but I never expected that this cream would have a great effect on my acne marks! This multi-purpose soothing balm for dry skin irritations helps to nourish and soothe dry skin as well as visibly irritated areas. This non-oily, lanolin free soothing balm provides daily relief for dry to very dry skin. But I found that this product can still be used as an oily skin. After cleansing, gently pat the skin with a small amount of toner, making it soft. Then squeeze out the cream and massage thoroughly between your hands. This will make the texture lighter, which is more suitable for oily skin. Then spread it evenly on your face, wait for about 15 minutes, and your face will completely absorb it. After persisting for about a month, you will find that your acne marks become lighter and your skin becomes translucent. This is because the components of this product are very precious. Panthenol can protect the skin barrier. Shea Butter and Glycerin enhance the moisturizing effect of the product. If you stick to it, it will have great effect.
