Is it worth it? Vitamin C edition🍊
🍊What are the claims? •Sunday Riley C.E.O Vitamin C Serum - a high potent, fast absorbing serum infused with 15% vitamin C to fight the look of dullness, darkness, & increasing brightness, radiate & luminosity. For all skin types & tones. $85 for 1oz. •E.L.F Beauty Shield Vitamin C serum - a fast absorbing, vitamin C pollution prevention serum. It has vitamin C, E & pomegranate extract to help fight darkness & skin stress. For all skin types. $16 for .93oz. •Murad Rapid Age spot serum - a fast acting spot lightening treatment that is formulated to help fade the look of dark spots, age spots & sun spots. $60 for 1.2oz. 🍊Texture/Consistency? •C.E.O - is a lightweight cream consistency •Elf - is a lightweight oil •Murad Rapid age spot serum - a thick gel 🍊My thoughts? I really enjoyed all of them! But I defiantly prefer the Murad & elf duo! You can get both for the price of the one Sunday Riley product. Plus I think the elf & murad Duo brightens & actually works better in my opinion! I wasn’t too impressed by the ceo glow, it wasn’t my cup of tea! It worked for a vitamin C serum but it is way too expensive in my opinion & I wouldn’t purchase the full size! However, I love the elf & Murad since I can use more of whichever or less of whichever. I use the elf all over my face day or night depending on my mood & my skin. I think it really hydrated my skin & brightened it. My sensitive skin wasn’t irritated by this product & I will defiantly repurchase! The Murad spot treatment is worth it too! I suffer from acne scars & this stuff has been a lifesaver! It helps lighten my scars in a couple of days where I really notice a big difference! And it doesn’t irritate my skin either which is great. Will you try any of these products out? Babe you before?! Let me know! SUNDAY RILEY - CEO 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum e.l.f. - Beauty Shield Vitamin C Pollution Prevention Serum Murad - Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum

Mediocre first impressions... | 💔😔🎭
FARMACY - Coconut Gel Sheet Masks So far on Cherie, I've told you guys about a handful of products that I love and use on a weekly, if not daily, basis. Well, it's time to get into the nitty gritty and give y'all my take on a product I'm not already besties with. I picked up the Farmacy Hydrating Coconut Gel Sheet Mask from Sephora for $8.00 and honestly, it sat in my cabinet for almost two months. I'm really not a huge sheet mask gal, but last night it was finally time to give this one a go. My first impressions: ✨ There's LOTS of product in this package - considering it's meant to be a one time use kinda situation, unless you're slathering it all over your neck/chest area, there's really too much in here for just the face. You could probably squeeze half of it into a little tub if you're looking to stretch your cash and use this as a hydrating treatment more than once. ✨ I 100% have combination skin, leaning more towards the oily side, with some dry patches depending on the week. While I usually dig hydrating treatments (like the Dr. Jart masks), I found this one to be particularly greasy. It's possible my hormones are starting a riot since I'm close to that time of the month, but if not, it's almost too hydrating for me. ✨ Farmacy is hyped up as being a clean, effective skincare brand. I think I need to dive into some products more similar to those I use everyday, and starting off with a type of mask I only reach for once in a while may have caused us to start off on the wrong foot. ✨ I DO love that they're cruelty and synthetic fragrance-free! From what I've read, Farmacy is a pretty natural company that tries their best to make great products for conscious buyers. I'm definitely willing to try some more from these folks, seeing as I'm constantly watching so many of you rave about them. Fingers crossed I can find something that works with my face, but I don't think I'll be dying to pick up one of these masks again. 🤷🏻♀️ Have you used anything from Farmacy? What are some great products you think I should pick up? 💸

Battle of the Hydration Serums: Hyaluronic Acid
Me: Combination Skin, Eczema, Hormonal Acne, Very Sensitive. I had dehydrated, super oily skin for the longest time. I started using a hydrating serum (Drunk Elephant B-Hydra) and by giving my skin the hydration it desperately needed, I saw my sebum production reduce drastically. Over the years, I’ve used different HA-packed serums and want to share my experience. In the photo, they’re organized from thickest (Drunk Elephant) to thinnest (NIOD), but I’ll be ranking them from least to most favourite. 5. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 is a fave of many budget ($6.80/30mL) routines. It is a goopy, odorless serum that’s not quite a liquid or a gel. It utilizes sodium hyaluronate and sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer as well as a couple other hydrating ingredients. Very basic. I used it twice a day. After applying, my skin felt hydrated- and tacky! It took a bit to dry down and made my moisturizer pill. But it did hydrate my skin nicely and didn’t irritate so it’s “okay”. I won’t purchase again. 4. THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum is a good budget ($7.99/30mL) HA serum. It is a thin liquid serum that soaks in quickly. It not only includes sodium hyaluronate and actual hyaluronic acid, but other humectants and a couple peptides as well. It hydrated my skin and didn’t cause any pilling issues- plus I noticed some plumping after a couple weeks of twice-daily use. I would purchase this again if I was looking for a budget HA serum! 3. NIOD - Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex is cool, but pricy at $60/30mL. the thinnest liquid of the group, it soaks in nearly instantly. The INCI list is stacked, including 15 forms of hyaluronic acid and HA precursors, plus peptides, for hydration, soothing, and anti-aging benefits. It soothed redness and made my skin feel so soft and hydrated, very plump, after twice daily use for a couple weeks. But the results aren’t worth the price since I use a separate peptide serum. I won’t repurchase. 2. DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum is a bouncy gel with sodium hyaluronate, sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer, and niacinamide, it costs $48 for 50mL. It soaks in slowly but completely. Twice daily use for only a couple weeks transformed my skin- hydrated and less oily! It also includes pineapple ceramide and plant extracts. I enjoy this serum and can’t recommend it enough to oily/combo folks. I repurchase often as it’s so nice to layer with other serums without any pilling. 1. PAULA'S CHOICE - Hyaluronic Acid Booster is my favourite HA serum. Sodium hyaluronate, hyaluronic acid, 3 ceramides, and many other humectants beef up this INCI list. This serum has helped me so much with my eczema and any redness, making my skin plump, soft, more even, and wonderfully hydrated. It’s a “creamy” gel that I happily apply twice daily, with zero pilling. I’ll repurchase forever, even at $36/15mL.

Dry skin vs Dehydrated skin ✨ Dry skin is a skin type. Typically it does not change, though it can come and go with seasonal changes, ie you can experience more dry skin in winter, and more normal-normal/dry skin in summer. Moisturizers can really help make your skin less dry, but it may not be a longterm effect, so if you stop using that moisturizer, for example, your just gonna go back to dry skin. If your skin is getting unusually drier than it normally is, odds are you need a better moisturizer, something with more occlusive ingredients in them, to hold moisture in the skin better and prevent trans-epidermal water loss and some emollients to heal dry, chapped or irritated skin. Occlusive ingredients include plant waxes, shea butter, cocoa butter, some fatty acids, cetyl alcohol. Emollients include plant oils, ceramide, squalane, Vitamin E, fatty acids. These two moisturizers by @jouviance and @vivierskin are good examples of moisturizers with both types of ingredients. @jouviance Hydractiv moisturizer with the Vitamin E and caprylic triglycerides (emollients) and lecithin (occlusive) and @vivierskin Lexxel moisturizer with the squalane, grain wax and vitamin E (emollients) and shea butter (occlusive). Is your moisturizer doing the most for you? Ultra Hydrating Gel Moisturizer | Trader Joe’s!
💡This product right here!!!! Has been the holy grail for my skin! I was suffering from super dry patches along my cheeks and mouth area. As soon as I used this it was a game changer for sure. Super light and has little to no scent. ✨The water-based Gel formula is packed with skin-soothing ingredients, like aloe leaf juice and green tea, birch leaf, & milk thistle extracts. It also contains the holy grail of modern moisturizing ingredients: sodium hyaluronate, or the salt form of hyaluronic acid, prized for its ability to both “lock in” skin’s natural moisture and add to it —with no oily residue! OMG！🌟Best couple for acne
These two are the best couple of products for my acne-prone skin! I have been fighting acne since I was 16 and nothing has been able to clear my face totally. Until last month my dermatologist recommended SkinCeuticals serum and Differin Gel to me. After using them a few days a week for one month, it is very helpful for helping reduce breakouts and calm redness-prone skin. These two products really had made a difference and also seem to have clarifying qualities to it. Phyto Corrective Gel is a hydrating, soothing gel serum with botanical ingredients ideal for calming and hydrating skin. The key ingredient contains hyaluronic acid, cucumber, thyme, which help to soothe and calm skin. I think it does exactly what it claims. It calms the skin, reduces redness, is moisturizing and calming. I have been using it for more than a month, consistent night and day use is the key and not putting too much on because a little goes a long way. Best discoloration product ever! Differin Adapalene Gel, this is a great acne treatment. Prescription-strength retinoid provides the fastest results—you'll start to see changes in about a month. So it took only a fast 3~4 weeks until my skin was completely cleared, and I've never been more confident in my skin ever! I like that it absorbs easily when applied and does not irritate my skin. Since using the product regularly, I have seen a significant difference in my acne breakouts, and my skin is more even-toned. It is also smoother & softer.
