Hair masks for damaged hair
A mask is like a conditioner, but on steroids.
Leave-in mask for damaged hair!!!
Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Strength + Moisture Leave-In Mask This product is a strengthening and reparative leave-in deep conditioner that provides repair benefits beyond the in-shower experience that results in healthy stronger hair in between washes and heat styling. It is used to help repair and prevent breakage and damage and can also be used to help restore hydration and nutrients to the hair. It also helps to enhance shine and softness. The consistency of this product is thicker than a normal leave in conditioner. Although this product may not be what I need for my hair type, which is on the thinner side this product is great for detangling and helps to bring back shine and smoothness to my hair. It is super moisturizing and makes my hair look and feel a lot healthier. I would recommend this product to those that have dry hair as it is super moisturizing. Personally I would not re-purchase this product as it retails for $28 on Sephora.com which is a bit costly for a leave-in mask.

Holy Grail Product of All Time
The product that I am most thankful for— Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 is such a savior if you have damaged or color-treated hair. It is a concentrated hair treatment suitable for all hair types. What’s different aboout Olaplex No. 3 is that rebuilds and strengthens your hair from the INSIDE. Most hair treatments just mask the damage temporarily. This treatment, with consistent use, will rebuild and strengthen your hair to make it healthier. I decided to start lightening my hair last year to achieve a blonde balayage. As you may or may not know, going lighter from dark hair takes a long time and a lot of color sessions to achieve a blonde look. This means I have put my hair under bleach damage countless times to achieve my color. I started using No. 3 four months ago and my hair is the healthiest it has EVER been. It takes time to see amazing results, but even after one or two uses I could tell my hair felt stronger. Olaplex has a system that numbers from 1-7 now. •1 & 2-Can be used in the salon where your stylist adds it directly to your hair color formulation. •3-Bond Rebuilder Home Treatment (pictured). •4 & 5-Shampoo & Conditioner •6-Bond Smoother Styling Cream •7-Bonding Oil Olaplex is not cheap. For the bottle shown, 3.3 oz is $28. I have gone through countless bottles and recently stocked up during the sephora sale. You apply a generous amount of product to wet hair (very important) and let it dry down, they say 10 minutes is enough. However, I usually sleep on it and do a jojoba/tea tree scalp treatment the same night. Overall, if you have damaged or colored hair and want stronger hair this is the best product on the market that you can buy for your hair. It is my product out of my whole personal care selection that I am most thankful for. Holy-grail status. OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector

Easy DIY Hair Mask for Damaged Hair
Sooo this is an easy and cheap hair mask you can make at home if your hair needs some TLC. This can be a leave in treatment or you can rinse out anywhere from 30 minutes - 8 hours. First off, let’s talk about hair. Did you know that when your hair grows out from your head it’s already DEAD?! 😳 Hair is made of a protein called keratin - the same protein that makes nails and skin! So basically when your hair grows out, you’re maintaining it to keep it in a stable condition and not dry out and become brittle. This mask helps retain the strength of the keratin from drying out and repairing it with just THREE Ingredients - coconut oil, honey and extra virgin olive oil. Coconut oil is great for the hair and really helps strengthen and hydrate the follicle. It’s also anti fungal. Honey moisturizes the scalp, reduces frizz, reduces breakage and adds shine. Olive oil helps minimize dandruff, helps with split ends, add moisturizer and makes your hair soft. This mask can be used on all hair types and will help hydrate, condition and strengthen. Since the mixture is primarily oil, expect it to be greasy and slightly heavy on the hair. Adjust the recipe below as needed based on hair type and thickness. Ingredients for thick medium length hair: 1 TSB Coconut oil 1/2 TSB Honey 1/2 TSB Olive Oil Add ingredients to a small dish you can microwave and heat for about 25 seconds. Order of ingredients added don’t matter. Apply to entire DRY hair if scalp is flakey or from crown to ends. Cover with shower cap and rinse with shampoo and conditioner the next day or leave in. Do not apply to wet hair. **Coconut oil is greasy, so use less if you plan to leave in and apply to driest parts of hair. I left the mask in my hair for about 1 hour and my hair is really soft!! 😍😍 I let my hair dry naturally, so it looks a little messy, but I feel a difference especially at the ends and the upper layers. #hairmask #cheriepartner #cheriecreator #diyhairmask

This hair mask saved my damaged hair...
I have always struggled with damaged hair, being a hair stylists, changing your colour is just to tempting!! In my career I have changed between dark and blonde – however this comes with consequences. Hair damage can be caused by numerous things: Heat Styling Colour Pollution Sun Damage Product Overload This can make your hair look dull and feel rough to touch. In my case the damage occurred due to continuous use of colouring. When colouring the hair, it causes damage to the hair shaft, this is because the colour has to break through a couple of barriers to set in permanently. This is why as hair stylists we recommend treatments/products that will help with this. Heat styling and sun damage without heat protector is another huge cause of hair damage. Did you know your hair, skin and nails are all made up of the same thing? Would you go into 190-degree heat with no sun cream? Although you can’t feel it on your hair it will still do the same amount of damage. This product SAVED MY HAIR! I was struggling to style my hair and make it look nice, every colour I was having on my hair would fade in a week or so, and it just felt so rough and brittle. I started using the Kerastase Masque Force Architecte a few years ago, and it has transformed my hair completely. This treatment is designed for damaged and weakened hair, it repairs damage, prevents split ends, strengthens the hair, leaving it feeling soft and smooth. How to use: Shampoo your hair twice, for extra results I always recommend the Bain Architecte Shampoo. Towel dry your hair. Apply the mask to the mid-lengths and ends. Leave for 10-15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. I use this treatment every week and my hair is in the best condition it has ever been in!!

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
