My go-to French braid in a bun!
My go-to French braid in a bun!
My hair is a little crazy! Having dry, thick, wild curls is an adventure in itself, but having those key styles to dress up a bun is so important! Today I’m sharing my go-to hairstyle when my hair is almost ready to be washed (I can only wash my hair once a week—curly girl problems) and I want it to be out of my face for work. I call it an easy French braid in a bun! Here are the easy steps to get this cute style yourself: 1. Brush your hair! Especially if you’re curly like me—it will ruin your curls for that wash cycle but since we’re at the end anyway it doesn’t really matter. By brushing our your hair it is less likely to tangle. 2. Something I like to do to add volume and texture is a styling powder. Many brands make them, but today I’m using the Redken Dry Shampoo Powder REDKEN - Dry Shampoo Powder 02 With Charcoal it’s basically a charcoal powder to soak up excess oil in your hair. Lasts forever! At $22 for 2oz it had lasted me over 6 months! My only complaint is the dispenser, I wish it was like briogeo’s, which is a aerosol-free sprayer. 3. Part your hair like your normally do, then tie up one side while you work on the other side. 4. Begin your French braid at the front of your part. You can make the braid as tight or loose as you’d like! 5. Make sure you continue along the side of your head, not the top. 6. Secure your first braid with Bobby pins and/or tie it up! 7. Repeat this on the other side. 8. Remove all of your temporary Bobby pins, grab all of your hair and put it in your usual bun. I keep mine lower on my head depending on the day. 9. Secure any stray hair or bumps with Bobby pins and you’re ready to go! I work part time at a print shop where it’s crucial that my hair is up and out of my face so I can operate heavy machinery. This is a cute style I wear instead of a boring bun 🤪 What are your favorite hair styles for your job(s)?

The product I used on her hair was PHARM to TABLE - Scalp Relief Tea Tree Leave-in This product helps to detangle her hair making it easy to braid the hair. This French braid was easy to do. Took a good 15 mins to do Tips: Make sure the hair is comb through. delegate your for 3 layers and start your braids as I’ve demonstrated in the video. Work in small sections.

Cute and easy WATERFALL braid! How to 💕
Cute and easy WATERFALL braid! How to 💕
If you know how to do a traditional French braid then this is a good way to level up your braid game! A waterfall braid is perfect for a half up half down look! Leave any questions below! YouTube is also a great source for a lil extra help with braids! You won’t need much product unless you want a super sleek look. What I used to achieve the style: goody - Ace Rat Tail Comb Rat tail comb is perfect for getting your parts straight and combing the hair down so it lays flat and just right. IGK - First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo I sprayed this first to absorb any excess oils. We were working with some few days past wash day hair! This is my go to dry shampoo! It has charcoal in it so it absorbs everything! It’s great for after workouts or simply when you’re just lazy and need dry shampoo. I can’t live without this specific dry shampoo. GLOW RECIPE - Glow Gang Scrunchie Set Who doesn’t love some cute pastel colored silk scrunchies?! Scrunchies are back in style and really add that cute girly flare to any hair style. #cheriecreator

Night hair care & natural daytime result!
Night hair care & natural daytime result!
My hair is thin and straight! I have to make sure to care for my hair every night and do my best to protect it! I use the OLAPLEX - No. 7 Bonding Oil ever night to add some moisture back in, protect it, and treat at the same time. It is expensive but very little is needed. I’ve been using for about 6 weeks and so far I like it a lot. I also braid my hair in a very loose braid or French braid every night and use my slip - Medium Slipsilk Scrunchies scrucnhies to make sure no damage is done. The only downfall to these is that they are expensive and they do stretch out quickly. I am on my second pack because I truly do love these and they make a difference. (No creasing) The next day result is beachy waves and a heartless, natural result. Protect and care for your hair ladies 💖
