JUICY WATERMELON TONER🍉✨
GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner I have combination acne prone skin with dull & pore prominent t-zone🙃 It’s a problem area for me and it needs extra care. This toner has liquid formula & very easy to use. I use it at night with cotton squares during pm routine 🌙 It has a light fragrance, refreshing but sweet scent. It’s quite low on ingredient list but I recommend swatching first if you have sensitivity to fragrance🦋 After using it for over a week now, I can see a difference in how visible my pores are. It looks lighter & feels less congested✨ I’m very happy with the result! #CherieCreator

Pixi Tonics: the hype is real!! (kinda)
Let’s talk toners! I’ve heard so much about the Pixi Tonics, particularly the Glow Tonic, so I had to see what the hype was about. I purchased this set of three mini toners about a month ago, and boy-oh-boy was I missing out!🧚♀️✨ ⚡️pixi - Glow Tonic : This 100% lives up to the hype. I had never used a glycolic acid toner before this, and now I see why everyone is raving about it! Me and my dull skin gotta catch up to all you glycolic acid junkies!!🏃♀️💨I’ve heard really good things about @deciem version of glycolic acid toner, so maybe that’s next on the list! 🍊pixi - Vitamin-C Tonic : Unfortunately this tonic didn’t do much for me. Vitamin C is normally an ingredient my skin loves, but the concentration in this tonic is too low for me to notice any visible effects. Pixi also doesn’t list the percentage of vit c in their toner.😐 🌹pixi - Rose Tonic : Okay this one smells like heaven! 👼I absolutely adore rose-scented things, and this toner nails it! It’s a great moisturizing and soothing toner. I notice that my skin feels fresher and more hydrated after using.💧 So my current toner situation is Rose/Vitamin C in the AM, and Glow in the PM, and overall my skin has been pretty happy!😍 Has anyone else tried @pixibeauty tonics? 🏷 #skincare #skincareproducts #skincarereview #skincareroutine #pixibeauty #pixiglowtonic #pixiglow #toner #rosetoner #vitaminc #tonic
Morning skincare routine for combination skin ✨
I’ve switched up my skincare routine as my skin has been really acting out recently. I’ve always had dry, dull skin so facial acne is a new problem for me (at 23🙃). However I didn’t want to strip my skin and cause further breakouts so here’s what I’ve been trying recently. This is my first post so please comment and let me know what you think/ would recommend! Cleanser: I start the day with the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser It’s gentle, with a simple ingredient list of ceramides and hyaluronic acid. It’s non foaming and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight (which I find frequently happens with foaming products). It’s basic but does the job of sweeping off last nights products well. 💦 Toner: then on a still slightly damp face I sweep on LANEIGE - Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer either patting it on with my hands or using a cotton pad. My skin drinks this up fassst & I haven’t had any dry patches on my nose since using this daily. It’s lightweight & very watery and although it claims to be a 2 in 1 toner and moisturiser I definitely wouldn’t say that I could skip moisturiser after using this. 🐄 Serums: I try and get The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 onto my face as quickly as possible so that the hyaluronic acid draws moisture from the toner and not deeper layers of my skin. This serum absorbs quickly & isn’t tacky at all, it also doesn’t interact with any of my other products so I’m already on my second bottle & use it in my morning and evening skincare routine. 🐳 I then use OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Serum I feel pretty meh about this, it has a nice texture and absorbs quickly but it also has (a nice!) fragrance & I can’t say I’ve seen much of a difference in the few weeks I’ve been using it. It claims to have anti aging properties thanks to its collagen, but at most, topical collagen will moisturise your skin (the molecules are too big to penetrate deeper) so I think I’m keen to try other vitamin C serums, I’m thinking of getting the FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherryor The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%so any thoughts on those would be welcome! 🍊 Then The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% which has been driving me a bit mad recently. I’m only halfway through my first bottle but have had such hit and miss results in terms of pilling! Think I’m going to permanently relocate this to just my nighttime routine 🌚 Moisturiser: OLE HENRIKSEN - C-Rush Vitamin C Gel Moisturizer is lightweight and has a nice texture so it’s a great summer moisturiser, in terms of brightening though, I’ve not seen much change. Finally Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50 it’s non greasy, but does create some shine & it stings like hell if you get it in your eyes so be warned! But no white cast & a nice texture🌞

My love letter to the I’m From Rice Toner 🍚
This is my absolute favourite toner for the morning. I apply this with my hands right after a gentle cleanser and before my vitamin C serum. Not only does it provide hydration, but my skin feels plumper and looks brighter the more that I use this toner. Now, I will say that this toner if quite different than the one I use at nighttime to help target my texture and keep my acne at bay. I don’t necessarily think I need this hydrating / brightening toner, but man, I just love it and I love how my skin feels after using this consistently. If you do have dry or very dull skin or skin with pesky acne scars, I do think this could be a great product for you. The good: + Although this has a very watery texture, this locks in moisture to the skin! If I’m having a particularly dull skin day, I’ll add a couple layers of this and my skin will feel extra hydrated. + Makes skin feel so plump and smooth. + Skin is slowly looking brighter and I’ve noticed this in combination with my vitamin C have really helped fade my acne scars. + Key ingredients include: rice extract (mild exfoliation and brightening) and niacinimide (minimizes pore appearance, improves skin tone and balances oils). + Large bottle (150ml) for around $30 and it will last you quite a long time. I’ve used mine for over two months now and I’m not even half way done. + No fragrance, essential oils or alcohol. And it’s cruelty free. The not so good: - uhhhhhhhhhhh the fact that it will one day be empty. - My usual complaint that I will need to order this online and it will take 2-3 weeks to get to Canada depending on where they ship it from. Worth it? Yes! It might seem a lot for a toner but this is lasting me a long time and I’m love the effects. Will I repurchase? Yes! Ps I have combo, acne prone skin :)

Two seconds to glowing skin? I think by now I've pretty much revealed by love for most things Ren skincare. One of my absolute favorites of their products, though, is the Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic. The name is actually slightly misleading since, in addition to an AHA in the form of lactic acid (from yeast rather than dairy), this toner also contains the BHA salicin (from willow bark), as well as azelaic acid, a dicarboxylic acid. While AHAs are brilliant at brightening and gently exfoliating the skin, and BHAs (why do people always put this in the plural when there's only one BHA?) are fantastic at unclogging pores, azelaic acid has been shown to inhibit unhelpful skin behavior such as pigmentation and breakouts. In fact, this toner is so good at getting to work instantly brightening and refining my skin I really don't need to use it every day (which would potentially dry me out anyway). Instead, I tend to use this every other day in either the morning or evening (not generally both), especially if my skin is looking at all dull. As an added bonus to its glow-inducing properties, this toner also boasts a lovely citrus smell, thanks to the addition of clementine, orange and grapefruit oils. Great for me but if you are at all sensitive to citrus smells maybe have a sniff in-store before buying.

My new favorite toner
This GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner recently came into my life and I am so happy that it did. I’ve dealt with acne scars for quite a while and this is one of the only products to actually show results of them slowly going away. I typically use this in the morning after washing my face and then I follow up with my serum and moisturizer. It’s an incredibly lightweight texture with absolutely no stickiness and you really do need such a small amount to cover your entire complexion. I’ve only been using it for about two weeks and I’m already stunned at the difference that it’s made. Plus the entire line is incredibly affordable for the results that you get. I would 10 out of 10 recommend this toner for anyone who is dealing with dull skin, dark spots or post acne scarring!

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
