This sh*t is BANANAS. B-A-N-A-N-A-S! 🍌
Alright gals and pals it’s Friday and I’m so ready to start the weekend! This week flew by incredibly fast and I’m so happy to relax just for a second. GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream When it comes to relaxing, this is exactly what @glowrecipe’s banana soufflé does to my face. Banana is rich in magnesium and potassium, which restores water depletion, healing manganese, and the amino acid tryptophan. Trust me, you won’t have to hollaback at any dry skin after trying this ;-)

Soothe redness with FAB Ultra Repair Cream
I’ve been struggling with redness and irritation, and this is the only product that helps within a matter of 1-2 days. Any time my skin isn’t doing well, I always turn to First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. It’s been a comfort product for my skin for about a year now. I always see improvement in the condition of my skin within 2-3 days when using this product. I use it when I am struggling with redness, dry skin, moisture barrier issues, or irritation. This cream always helps my skin so much. I love using it by itself when it seems like anything else will break me out, but I also love to use it as my last step on top of serum and moisturizer in the nighttime. Currently, my skin is very dry, so I’ve been using it every night on top of my serum and moisturizer. I have been waking up with calm skin every day while using this. I also used it as a moisturizer every day in the summertime and loved how balanced my skin was. What is it? It’s a fast-absorbing, rich moisturizer that provides instant and long-term hydration for dry, distressed skin and eczema. It’s great for normal, dry, and combination skin. This product will help with redness, dryness, and fine lines and wrinkles. Some of the ingredients are colloidal oatmeal (my favorite), shea butter (to hydrate), and allantoin (to calm and soothe the skin). The price ranges from $12 to $40 depending on the size you want. I have the large $40 tub, and it has lasted me for such a long time. I recommend this cream because it has a simple ingredient list that is truly meant to help soothe redness, dryness and irritation. I think the price point is fair considering that this product lasts for a very long time! I have used it for a year now and am only halfway through my tub. This is a great product to use a last step in the wintertime, on bad skin days, or you can even use it every day as a moisturizer! It’s so versatile and simple! This gets rid of redness within 1-2 days. It always helps to control my acne, redness, dryness, oiliness and texture. Overall, it’s an incredible product that I will continue to repurchase.FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration

Slugging Season! Dry skin dream ✨
How does it work? Why this would help dry skin? I have used Vaseline but lately CeraVe - Healing Ointment and I can’t get enough. I apply this as the last step in my skincare routine at night. I do it a few times a week. I recommend adding petroleum to your routine if you: 1. Have dry skin 2. Use actives or ingredients in your skincare that are drying (for me it’s retinol and vitamin c) 3. You need to heal your skin after a skin care treatment or after your feel you have over exfoliated your face Honestly, my skin feels so hydrated and glowy when I wake up. As we approach the colder months, I know I’ll be reaching for this more and more!
The gel that saved my dry skin!
No one knows the struggle of dry skin until someone asks you in the midst of winter if you’re peeling from a sunburn and you reply “no, my skin is just that dry”. 🥴😩 I have struggled with extreme dry skin my whole life! To the point that wearing any type of makeup was embarrassing because it would flake off and look ridiculous and splotchy. Well I’ve been seeing an esthetician for awhile now and I begged for an AFFORDABLE and EASY skincare routine...and she gave me just that! I’ve been using this Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream for 6 months now and LOVE IT!!! My dry skin is still there at times but it’s SOOOOO much better. What I really love about this gel, is that when you put it on, it makes your face feel glossy...you don’t actually rub it in like a lotion. You let the gel soak into your skin! (How crazy right?) it has a super mild clean smell so it’s so refreshing for your nightly routine. I only use it at night since during the day I tend to wear makeup and I don’t want to wait for the gel to soak in before I apply makeup. So thankful to have affordable GOOD products for my skin. I have tried several different products like Ponds extra dry face creams, CerVe lotion even washed my face less (I know gross but I was so dry!) extra moisturizing face washes, but nothing really worked! ✨If y’all struggle with the same thing as me, try this!!! I promise you won’t regret it. ✨

Dry/Dehydrated Skin Routine
Sometimes when I use too many clay masks or skip my skincare routine a few times (hey, life happens) my skin can get super dehydrated. In those instances, I like to use a simple, but effective routine to infuse hydration into my skin. This can be used at any time, and I do it whenever I need to (if my skin is super dry, I’ll even do this a few days in a row). Step 1 – Cleanse fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash I always start with a cleanser, and the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is my favorite. It is very gentle, and effective. It has a light cucumber scent, which doesn’t bother me at all, I quite like it. I find that when my skin is dry, it tends to overproduce oils, so I like to cleanse it well, but I also want to make sure my cleanser isn’t stripping my skin. Step 2 – Hydrating Mist YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha I have a lot of face mists that I filter between, but this YTTP Adaptogen Mist is my current favorite/go-to. This one is very hydrating and soothing and gives an extra layer of hydration before I go in for my hydrating mask. Because hydrating masks usually form an occlusive later over your skin, using a mist before will give an extra boost of hydration. Step 3 – Hydrating/Soothing Mask BIODERMA - Sensibio Mask If my skin is feeling both stressed and dehydrated, I like to go for this Bioderma Mask as it is so soothing and also makes my skin feel plump. This has a super simple formulation that is fragrance free with very hydrating ingredients, so it always does the trick for my skin!

My top 3 moisturizers – for dry skin
For people with dry skin, I think the most important skincare product is moisturizer. For me, serums can help me with acne, aging and sun damage, etc., but the last step of my routine, especially night routine, will always be moisturizer. And today I want to share three of my favorites and the prices are variable, so you can decisions based on your need and my experience. Let’s start with the most affordable one, belif - The True Cream-Moisturizing Bomb, which is $38 for 50ml. I have tried several products from this brand, and I love the fresh design and comfortable use. The formula is white heavy cream, but very easy to blend. It contains comfrey leaf, oat extract and panthenol, helping moisturize and sooth skin. I also really like the True Cream-Aqua Bomb, which is a blue gel and more lightweight than this one, so I recommend oily to combination skin can try the Aqua Bomb and dry skin to try the Moisturizing Bomb. Then it comes to theGUERLAIN - Midnight Secret Late Night Recovery Treatment Serum, which is $29.5 for 15ml. It is white lightweight cream, formulated with eight effective ingredients that help to reduce the signs of fatigue. And I can also feel it help enhance my overall skin tone and make my skin look refreshed even I stay up until 3am. However, there is one thing to be noticed. If you use it only for emergency, the oil inside may separate from cream. I think shake it before using can be better. The last one is theLA MER - LA MER Moisturizing Cream, which is $335 for 60ml. This is the best-seller of La Mer and has great reputation for the power of recovery and moisturizing. The formula is rich white cream, a little bit is enough for a whole face. The cell-supporting ingredient called Miracle Broth is the key point, which can help protect against stress and pollution. So when my skin get allergic because of dryness when I travel to somewhere cold and windy or the changes of season, I will use this cream and I think it really worth it. I love all of three products. The first one is like a daily product, and the second one is useful for people stay up late like me, and the third one is a life saver, whenever I need recovery, it will help me. I think you can try these based on your need and don’t waste money!

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
