Quick Guide To Using Niacinamide For Bright Skin
Quick Guide To Using Niacinamide For Bright Skin
For someone like me who has combination skin and plenty of dark marks, niacinamide is definitely heaven-sent. Niacinamide is basically vitamin B3 in its active form. This ingredient is known to ease redness, lighten dark spots, and minimize pore appearance. Currently, I use niacinamide products regularly as part of my night routine. Prior to using this, I was using AHA products for the micro peel effect, but I stopped because I read on several blogs that niacinamide and AHA can’t be used together. So, how do I use niacinamide on my skin? I actually have two products containing this ingredient: an essence and a serum. After washing my face and applying toner, I use my palms to apply Nacific Phyto Niacin Whitening Essence. Next, I follow it up with The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I then apply eye cream to my eye area to prevent wrinkles. Lastly, I use my favorite night cream to leave my skin moisturized overnight. Nacific Phyto Niacin Whitening Essence is a lightweight essence that gets absorbed quickly into the skin. TO Niacinamide serum is a crowd-favorite for a reason – it’s very effective in brightening up the skin and lightening any hyperpigmentation. That said, some people have reported getting breakouts or other adverse products from this serum, so check the ingredients list first if you happen to be sensitive to an ingredient or two. 💋💋💋💋💋 5 out of 5 kisses for Niacinamide! I’ve been using niacinamide products for a good part of the year now and I’ve seen some noticeable differences in my skin. Niacinamide helped my skin go from dull to bright in just a short period of time. Say bye-bye to dark spots with this HG-worthy ingredient!

So when I ran out of The Ordinary niacinamide, I looked to something else that was still within a reasonable price range. TO’s niacinamide was out of stock everywhere :( Seeing that I was still on a budget, and I needed a serum that will still (hopefully) lighten my scars, I came across this— Physicians Formula Skin Booster Vitamin Shot. Of course, I chose the brightening one since my main concern at the time was dark spots and scarring. Before purchasing this, I looked up the ingredients, and it contained vitamin C and niacinamide as its active ingredients. I’ve read everyone’s reviews and most of them said that this serum worked for them. I thought, “ok, why not give this a shot?” (pun intended 😏) And so, I bought it. Here’s the unfortunate part—it didn’t really work for me. ☹️ Whenever I buy a new product, I’m always hopeful it’s going to work, but I do prepare for the worst. Thankfully, I didn’t break out from this, but it just didn’t do anything good for me. I didn’t see much change in my dark spots and scarring. However, I think it did a decent job at keeping my skin hydrated. Other than that, nothing. Since I bought this, I did want to try to use it up or just most of it in hopes of seeing noticeable results. Still, nothing happened. This product isn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either, at least for me. I’m very happy that others had better experiences with this, but this was a miss 😕 Maybe the concentration levels of the vitamin C and niacinamide were too low for my skin to function with. It’s been over a month since I started using The ordinary’s niacinamide and zinc serum. I had a lot of closed comedomes, very textured and dull skin. Safe to say, My skin is much brighter, hydrated and glowy! I have a very sensitive skin so I only use it at night every other day. And if I chemical exfoliate, I give myself a couple days off from niacinamide to avoid any more acids to my face. Thats just how my sensitive my face is. Definitely will keep using this serum. Never felt more confident than I do now! Love this product.

The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA I’ve always had dull skin and have tried many different ways to brighten up my skin, from different remedies to make ups. Most of the remedies that I’ve tried had no effect and I’ve also tried to use make up to give my skin a more radiant feel to it, but that usually doesn’t last long or was a hassle to my daily routine. That was until I found these two serums by The Ordinary and used them together as a combination. I found this suggestion online while browsing for a remedy. At first I was skeptical because I’ve tried many different products before this with little to no results. However, after my first usage, I was able to see a noticeable difference in my skin. After some research, I discovered that one of the ingredients inside this serum, niacin-amide (vitamin B3), helps reduce the appearance of skin blemishes, which helps brighten my skin tone. Another ingredient is zinc, which helps regulate sebum activity. This is great for me, because one of the main reasons why my skin is so dull, is due to my skins over oiliness. The sebum activity is the skins natural way of keeping your skin moisturized and healthy. However, if this process works too well, or too effectively, it results in oily skin. So the zinc in this product helps regulate my sebum activity to help prevent my own skin from becoming extra oily from it’s own natural process. The alpha arbutin helps reduce hyper-pigmentation. After discovering these two products, I’ve been hooked and it’s helped solve my dull skin issue.

5 Reasons Why I Love TO’s Niacinamide Serum
5 Reasons Why I Love TO’s Niacinamide Serum
I first heard about The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum when I was searching for brightening serums last year. While my combination skin rarely ever breaks out, I do have some dark marks left over from the occasional pimples that I would like to disappear, or at least, improve in appearance. So I ordered TO’s Niacinamide Serum, crossing my fingers and hoping that it’s actually effective. It’s been almost a whole year later and I’m already on my third bottle of this serum. I have to say, I love it more and more as time goes by! Here are the 5 reasons why. 1. It lightens up my dark spots. It’s not a very dramatic change, mind you, but it does lighten my dark spots quite noticeably. I guess I’ll have to use a few more bottles of this serum if I want to completely lighten them. 2. It smoothens my skin’s texture. I can't believe just how nice it is to glide your fingers over your skin and not feel any bumps! 3. It provides much-needed moisture. My skin never feels dry when I have this serum on. I think it’s successful in locking in the moisture from my essence, too. 4. It doesn’t make my skin oily. Even though it moisturizes my skin, it doesn’t make my face look oily or greasy. This is very important to me because I really like keeping my face matte. 5. It makes me look fresh in the morning. Who doesn’t like seeing that healthy glow on their face when they wake up in the morning? Definitely not me! Can you guess what my overall rating is? 💋💋💋💋💋 5 out of 5 kisses! I really enjoy using this product and I think I’ll keep using it for the future, at least until I find a worthy replacement. Hopefully not, though! If you have some dark spots and you’re having a hard time reducing their appearance, you may want to try out The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum! You can get it for only $5.90 on the Cherie website! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Have you tried this product before? Loved it, hated it? Let me know in the comments!
