Goop Beauty Overnight Peel Pads
goop - GOOPGLOW 15% GLYCOLIC OVERNIGHT GLOW PEEL Product Claims: exfoliates, brightens and smooths skin( from goop.com) Main Ingredients: glycolic acid, trio of tropical fruit extract, Australian kakdu plum and hyaluronic acid Texture: This peel pad has a smooth side and a rough edge side Price: $45 – 4 pads My Experience: I was surprised! Many products claim to be an overnight product but in reality, you need to use it for a minimum of 2 weeks to see some results. Especially brightening products but NOOOO not this @goop overnight glow peel 😍 I used this last night and woke up to a glowing skin 😮 I was very surprised to see that this actually worked and also brightened and exfoliated my skin! The pad has two sides to it - one is smooth while the other side is a bit rough. I used the rough side and loved the exfoliation it did. I have dry skin type and at points I feel like my skin also becomes dull with the buildup of dry skin. In the morning I just cleansed my face and sealed the glow with a moisturizer! I am excited to keep using this weekly to see how my skin feels! Would I recommend it? Yes and No! Yes, if you want to splurge! I think that $45 for four pads is a bit much but I would purchase this on my own if I was splurging 🙈I like it alot !! But no otherwise because I think many other products will give you a glowy and bright skin that are much more affordable.

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta daily peel—worth it?
Exfoliants are everywhere, and it can be so hard to choose which one is right for you. Today I wanted to compare two exfoliating pads that each contain a blend of acids. Dr Dennis Gross - Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel These daily exfoliating pads contain a blend of glycolic, lactic, salicylic, lactic, mandelic, malic, and citric acids in the first step, and ingredients like retinol and vitamin c in the second step. I don’t understand exactly how all the ingredients in both steps work together, but I can tell you that these pads don’t sting my face (I don’t have sensitive skin, though). The first step does smell strongly of alcohol, but the second step feels very soothing to me. Long story short, these are the most effective exfoliant I’ve tried to date when it comes to erasing my hyperpigmentation. I had some stubborn spots that were gone in a matter of weeks with daily use of these pads. I was amazed! Sadly, these are very expensive and also the individual wrapping for each pad is very wasteful. I’m looking for an alternative because of these reasons, but if I ever have a future breakout and I need to get rid of a lot of hyperpigmentation, I’ll consider repurchasing these because they’ve been incredibly effective in my experience. The blend of acids is impressive, and I don’t know if any other products that contain all of the same acids and also ingredients like vitamin C that are in the second step. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads These pads contain glycolic and lactic acids, as well as soothing ingredients like aloe juice, hyaluronic acid, and cucumber water. They also contain some potentially sensitizing ingredients such as lemon peel extract. These pads claim to target dullness, pores, and irregular tone and texture. FAB claims they enhance natural glow and make makeup application smoother. I think these are a solid exfoliating product for the price, even though they only have two acids. They don’t sting my face (they actually feel pretty soothing) and they do seem to make my makeup go on smoother than if I hadn’t used an exfoliant at all. However, they haven’t worked as well for me as the Dr. Dennis Gross pads when it comes to drastically lightening hyperpigmentation. I struggle with acne, which means I almost always have several spots of hyperpigmentation I’m trying to get rid of, and these didn’t lighten those spots nearly as quickly as the Dr. Dennis Gross pads. I think both of these are good products, but it depends on what your skin goals are. If you want to erase hyperpigmentation, and fast, the Dr. Dennis Gross pads are the most effective product I’ve personally tried (but way more expensive). If you want a solid daily exfoliant to help with issues like non-inflammatory acne and help you get that glow, the FAB pads are worth checking out.

Although this was just a sample, this greatly influenced my decision to purchase the DERMA•E - Vitamin C Instant Radiance Citrus Facial Peel This product claims to help improve the appearance of discoloration, dark spots and uneven skin tone. If you read the description of this product it says it’s a “powerful peel” but I did not find it abrasive at all. It helps to loosen and lift dead skin cells and impurities to deliver visible results. This product is enriched with Vitamin C, a potent antioxidant with skin-brightening and anti-aging properties that may help to support collagen health, and citrus fruit peel puree which helps to improve the appearance of discoloration, dark spots and uneven skin tone. Glycolic acid uses AHA properties to help safely and effectively remove dead surface skin cells. I love that this product it 100% Vegan and Cruelty-free! I definitely saw a difference in my skin before and after use, it appeared much brighter. This product runs at about $24 for a 2 oz container, but I would definitely recommend purchasing it if you struggle with any dark spots or dull skin tones!

Face Peel@Home During Quarantine Glo Skin Beauty
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 My mom and I both used this at-home peel in a box by Glo Skin Beauty. It gave the slightest tingle when I applied which subsided after a few minutes. After 15 minutes I dabbed the exceeds peel with a tissue and left a small amount on the surface of my skin. This stays in through the night and gets washed off with a gentle cleanser the next morning (that’s included in the box). It took about 2 days, but my skin definitely peeled. When I washed it started to flake and dead skin pilled at the surface. It took another 2 days for that to stop. The result was very soft skin and the fine lines on my forehead were definitely reduced (thank goodness! I really want to get back to the derm soon for preventative Botox). I checked earlier and this box is now sold out... but I heard they are restocking and bringing it back ASAP. My mom is so excited to do this again soon. I will do it again, but will wait a bit since I have younger skin and don’t need as much cell turnover as my mom. It’s a great purchase!!!
Favorite AHA BHA Mask
A little unhappy that it took me this long to try The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution . I scared myself prior to trying this due to all the reviews I have read/watched. Most have said that the burning sensation was horrid or causes chemical burns. So I was worried since my skin is sensitive and just about anything can flare up my rosacea. I was very surprised when the ‘burning sensation’ was actually just a light tingle. So all is good with this and I can’t wait to use it again. ✨ Smooth and radiant skin was achieved after one thin application. Skin did not feel dry/tight after use but it did in the morning. I followed up with my usual routine that I have found to be rather hydrating but I clearly have to up my hydration-game after using this. Congestion that I have been working so hard to clear (physical exfoliants, AHA masks, low percentage AHA toners) for almost a month just did not do the trick but this did—kinda. I still have small bumps near my jawline but they have definitely decreased in size! Update: with consistent usage, the small bumps are gone! I have tried 2-3 products from @deciem prior to this and have had mediocre results. This product (along with another one I have been testing) has made me look into other products of theirs to try. So if you have any favorites, please let me know! (Review copied from my Instagram with updates!)

FAB facial radiance pads ✨
✨What are the claims? A daily treatment pad with lactic & glycolic acid time safely & effectively exfoliate, tone & brighten. For normal, dry & combo skin. Formulated for dullness, uneven texture, & pores. ✨Texture/Consistency? Smooth wipes ✨My thoughts? I personally didn’t love these! I do love facial radiance Pads but these weren’t my favorite. My skin is dry & sensitive & I have been using these on & off to see if they really work & I am sad to say in my opinion they didn’t! My skin wasn’t smoother or brighter, it did help slightly with the black heads on my nose. It wasn’t worth it in my opinion & my skin didn’t enjoy it. ✨Price Vs. Size? 60 pads for $34, that isn’t bad. If these work for your skin they would be bomb. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
