The Ordinary 10% Niacinamide + zinc 1%
Niacinamide is great for reducing oil and sebum production in the skin. Niacinamide is also a brightening agent which will help calm down redness and irritation in the skin. The zinc will also help reduce redness and ideation in the skin. - I like to use this product a couple times a week. After using this product for about 4 months I have seen less redness in my skin. This product really helps my acne scars and I notice that the spots go away within a couple of days. I’m almost out of this product and I already have a back up.

My MUST HAVE Babes!!!-part 2
SK-II - GenOptics Aura Essence Serum It is creamy white. The tube has a slight angle. It helps to get rid of dark spots, makes your skin look glowy. The texture is very soft, easy to spread. It can be absrobed easily, and not sticky at all. You can build up your tolerence quick. As a sensitive skin, I have no trouble applying it. dermalogica - UltraCalming Serum Concentrate My skin is sensitive. I use this serum when I have allergies, redness, or acne. It is alcohol-free, has no preservatives, fragrance free, and has no pigment. So I trust it a lot. My skin does not hurt when I apply it. It is pretty easy to get absorbed. I highly recommend it if you have a sensitive skin! This is amazing for recovery. LA MER - LA MER Moisturizing Cream This requires thorough mulsification before you apply it to your face. You can't really see the effect when your skin is good and healthy. But this is sooo good for recovery. It helps your skin to become stable.

Is this a good anti-redness serum?
FIRST AID BEAUTY - Anti-Redness Serum What am I? This product is marketed as an anti redness serum that alleviates and soothes stressed skin, calm inflammation, and guard against environmental stressors. This product claims to tackle skincare concerns such as hyperpigmentation, rosacea, free radical damage, and redness. It contains caffeine and ginger extract to cool inflammation and aloe vera to calm irritation. This is a thicker creamier type of serum that would best be used as the last serum of your routine. However after you apply it to the skin it skins in quickly and doesn’t leave any stickyness or residue. What do I think about it? I can’t completely remember where I got this from but I’m pretty sure I got it in a gift set for Christmas last year. I really love the brand and I had high hopes for this product, but honestly I don’t feel like this product was doing much for me. I tried this for 10 days but I didn’t notice it doing anything positive for my skin. I have skin that is very prone to redness and I didn’t feel like this helped with that at all. If anything I noticed that by mid day my skin looked more oily than usual when I was using this in the morning. Lastly I want to mention the price. At $36 for the full size 1.7oz, you’re best off passing on this and picking something else from First Aid Beauty like their toner or ultra repair cream. Would I recommend it? Unfortunately it’s a no for me, dawg.

Pre-Gym Morning Skincare: Anti-Redness Routine!
Before I go to the gym, I try to keep it as simple as possible! But some mornings, I need to deviate from the moisturizer+sunscreen formula to add in some extra soothing ingredients for my sensitive combination skin. My skin is acne prone, so I layer lightweight serums to get the job done: • NIOD - Modulating Glucosides utilizes a variety of nerd-worthy ingredients, that would take an entire post to list off and describe, to soothe skin from the inside-out, minimizing redness that stems from irritation. It has a uniquely plopping texture that manages to be entirely a serum yet have a creamy consistency. A good moisture boost without causing shininess. • PAULA'S CHOICE - CBD Skin Transformative Treatment Milk is a delightfully milky, lightweight serum that soaks in quickly for a dose of moisturizing oils, hydrating humectants, and soothing CBD and centella asiatica extract amongst a variety of antioxidants. Always fantastic to apply the morning after tret! • PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 is my hands-down favourite sunscreen. It doesn’t last through sweating, so I‘d only use it pre-workout if you workout inside and plan on reapplying sunscreen after! It is extremely lightweight, closer to a watery serum than a traditional liquid sunscreen! It soaks in quickly, offering intense hydration and soothing power thanks to a bunch of antioxidants, including two green tea extracts and vitamin e.

Azelaic Acid: You Need This In Your Routine
Azelaic acid is amazing. It occurs naturally on the skin and is produced by grains in labs, holding anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties rather unique to such a gentle, multifaceted antioxidant. It helps with skin texture, redness, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, and even minimizes the look of active breakouts. All of the pictured products are free of fragrance, alcohol, and essential oils. facetheory - PoreBright Serum N10 ($19 per 30mL) features star ingredients like 10% azelaic acid, 10% niacinamide, salicylic acid (<2%), aloe, and sodium hyaluronate to calm skin while addressing issues like congested pores, uneven tone, acne, oily skin... it’s a versatile serum that I enjoyed. The serum is light and moisturizing, with good spreadability. This is the gentlest of the three in my experience. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster ($36 per 30 mL) is a game-changer. I enjoyed FaceTheory N10, but something about PC’s formulation transformed my acne experience. 10% Azelaic acid, salicylic acid (<2%), licorice root extract, allantoin, and a variety of humectants + emollients come together in this light gel-cream to give significant texture-smoothing, tone-correcting, acne-preventing results. Whenever I apply this in the AM (which it is gentle enough to do), my blemishes are reduced remarkably by the evening. I also have seen such significant fading of my acne scars that I already got a back-up! Its cream formula allows for use as a spot treatment if you prefer that. This is my favourite of the three pictured. The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% ($7.90 per 30mL) is a simple formula, with 10% Azelaic acid and vitamin e as the star ingredients in a variety of silicones and emollients. I noticed significant hyperpigmentation reduction with this cream, but I cannot stand the silicone texture. It has a strange grit to it, no matter how much I shake up the bottle. I also think my skin dislikes heavy silicones, as I experienced increased breakouts when using this, despite the wonderful brightening and calming properties it has. Not sure I’d recommend this unless your skin handles silicone well. The matte finish would probably be enjoyed by oily skin types.
