Let me provide some context about my skin care journey: This past August, my Tik Tok algorithm brought me to the world of skin care. Without ANY prior knowledge, I decided to throw my skin into the hands of skin care influencers (and when I say throw, I mean THROW...HARD). I had mediocre skin, and mainly suffered from comedonal acne but not much active, cystic acne. I went hard with SA, adapalene, and HARSH chemical exfoliants, ultimately destroying my skin barrier and causing a major purge... my skin had never looked so bad in my entire LIFE. Fast forward to October, I decided to start Curology. Originally, my formula consisted of 2% Azelaic Acid, 1% Clindamycin, and 0.25% Zinc Pyrithione. I simplified my routine, and focused heavily on restoring my skin barrier with nutrient rich moisturizers. After about 3 weeks, I decided to reach out to my Curology provider and requested that I start Tretinoin... I felt like my formula at the time just wasn’t worth the price and I wanted the full Curology experience if I was going to be paying $20 a month. My new formula consists of 0.01% Tret, 4% Azelaic Acid, & 1% Clindamycin. Left picture is back when I started Curology with my og forumale (Oct. 19th) and the right picture is now (entering my 3rd week of Tret). Slow but efficient progress. My biggest mistake with skin care has been being impatient, and going hard with harsh products when I didn’t see results right away. Everyone’s skin is different, skin care is NOT linear and I’m slowly learning more and more about my skin. Don’t give up!!! Find what works for you😊 My routine now is as follows: AM: 🧼Splash of water to “wash” my face 🧼LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Duo (+) so far LOVING this as a spot treatment... only giving it 4/5 because it’s too soon to see results, but I love the texture and how easy it absorbs into my skin (not irritating/drying at all) 🧼Elta MD UV Restore Broad Spectrum SPF 40 5/5 stars... LOVE this new sunscreen and I mix this with Australian Gold - Botanical Tinted Face Sunscreen SPF 50 for some tint since mine is too dark for me PM: 🧼LANEIGE - Cream Skin Milk Oil Cleanser I use this as a first cleanse and I love that its fragrence free but I wouldn’t use it if I had a full face of makeup + it kinda leaves a residue 🧼VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser this is amazing... simple, to the point, overall gr8 cleanser 🧼Aveeno - Calm + Restore Triple Oat Serum I use this to buff my tret and so far I’ve had no irritation 😊 🧼 FINAL STEP: I mix my LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer with my Curology - Curology formula and I’m ready for bed 🛌

Guide to MEN'S Skincare! 🤎
The days of minimal skincare for men are over! The global market for skincare is expected to reach $189 billion globally by 2025 (statista.com). These companies are no longer missing out on the huge market that is expanded through men of all ages. Sisinternational Research also did studies that show men have a few preferences when it comes to skincare: easy to use products, leave no residue, and no strong scent. So, men's specific skincare products are ultimately completely unnecessary. They do have simple packaging and added cologne fragrances, but the ingredients do not differ in any positive way. Physiological differences between men and women's skin usually shows through larger pores, more oil production, and thicker overall skin. As I said before, it used to be seen as a feminine endeavor to go down the skincare aisle. Through more education and gender neutral marketing, people are picking up cleansers and moisturizers without the stigma. So, put down the 3-in-1 shampoo and face wash combo and try these suggestions out instead. CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Great budget friendly option for most skin types. Using a foaming but non stripping wash can help keep it clean and hydrated. Krave - Kale-Lalu-yAHA Gentle exfoliant that works great to ease your way into a skincare routine. Use 1-2 weekly and increase over time. This can help with pesky ingrown hairs and irriation caused by facial hair. Do not use same day as shaving! dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator Physical exfoliant option if you prefer a scrub feeling that can be used before shaving. Use 2-3 weekly and assess skin's response. Only choose one exfoliant to use at a time. OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Serum Optional vitamin C is a great way to brighten up and even the skin tone. Use every morning before SPF. Leaves no sticky feeling and sinks in nicely. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 Sunscreen is an absolute must for everyone! This packaging is clean and neutral, and a squeeze tube makes it easy to store in a shaving kit. Be sure to apply quite a bit and reapply throughout the day. Working at the spa, I got quite a few male clients for facials. Taking care of your skin at home or professionally is necessary no matter what. Do not be afraid to purchase the essentials: cleanser, exfoliant and SPF. After a while of getting your routine down, then you can add in extra products as needed for your specific skin type. It is time to squash societal norms surrounding men's hygiene and skincare! Who's with me?

Simple Yet Soothing 💙Fave Drugstore Mositurizer
The LAST thing I needed was ANOTHER moisturizer; but with my Adapalene use I need a thick moisturizer and my Paula’s Choice moisturizers weren’t cutting it, so I headed to my local drugstore. I’ve struggled to find my favorite drugstore moisturizer. I find CeraVe - CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion not moisturizing enough. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer is moisturizing yet always pills on my face (oddly enough the SPF doesn’t one pill through!) I found LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Ultra Face Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin . Ingredient Highlights: Squalane, Shea Butter, Glycerin, and Dimethicone. Price: $29.99 Review: With such a simple, short ingredient list, this moisturizer is INCREDIBLY soothing. It’s very moisturizing but is not at all too heavy, absorbing nicely on the skin. It’s lack of fragrance is perfect for my dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin. It is PERFECT to use with retinol, as it helped my sensitive skin adjust to Differin. I do the sandwich technique, applying a thin layer before the Adapalene and a thin layer after to protect my barrier. In short, I highly recommend this moisturizer if you’re looking for a simple yet effective moisturizer.

Day one of Tretinoin 0.04%
I’m a special ed teacher of students with moderate intellectual disabilities. Currently doing both in person (hello maskne) and online teaching (aka stressssssss). Also my district told me 3 days ago I’m getting three new students so stress times ten!! I never used to get breakouts. They started probably my junior year of college, so four and a half years ago. I’ve always been conscious of skin care and my acne never got out of hand, I just could never get rid of the ever present 2-5 pimples on my face at all times. They definitely appear most around my period. Its definitely the worst it has ever been this year with a lot of added stress on top of wearing a mask all day long. I feel like I’ve tried everything. Over the last five years I’ve gotten on birth control, done proactiv, Curology, rodan + fields, differin, every benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid face wash or mask out there, I even drink a teaspoon of liquid chlorophyll every day to try and detox from within. I also drink at least 64 oz of water every day. I try to drink more, but as a teacher I don’t get many bathroom breaks. I’m beyond frustrated and feel like I just can’t get my face clear! I gave Differin a solid chance because I really thought that, since it used to be prescription only, it would work. After 4 months of using it, I feel like it did an okay job. I never really got big painful pimples, but I never really got those anyway and I was still getting the same amount of overall breakouts each month. I decided I need to try something stronger, but I didn’t want to have to go to the dermatologist. That’s when I found Rory! I was prescribed Tretinoin 0.04% with Azelaic Acid 0.8% and Vitamin E and hyaluronic acid. It was $5 for my first bottle and will be $75 every 3 months from here on out. I got approved within a few hours and it arrived at my apartment in 2 days. I’m doing this post because I never actually take pictures to compare progress (because I’m so sick of never actually seeing any progress!!) and to try to wish for some good results finally! Here’s the rest of the routine that I’ll be doing: AM- LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser VICHY - LiftActiv Specialist Peptide-C Anti-Aging Ampoules VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serum COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer Bioré - UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel SPF 50+ PA++++ PM- VERSED - DAY DISSOLVE Cleansing Balm spectro - Jel Cleanser VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serum COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream Then I’ll do the Tretinoin last Wish me luck!!!

My P.M Skincare routine
It took me about a year to formulate and create a skin care routine that catered to my own skin perfectly. I must say, I have come a long way from using witch hazel and apricot scrubs and figured out what my skin needs. It’s amazing progress. Hopefully this year I will incorporate a retinol into my routine.

MOST RECENT UPDATED AM ROUTINE WITH THEIR PRICES
I’m been going through many products, most of the time focusing on ACNE; a month ago I was watching Hyram YouTube videos and he mentioned “Damaged skin barriers” in that moment something told me “You need to focus on hydrating your skin, and products that help you repair your barrier not Just acne products” “” while you are repairing your skin barriers you will be also helping with healing your acne scars and future acne” .. **When you are using acne products they can be very strong on your skin that can cause irritation, dryness; damaging your skin barriers. That’s why it’s very important to moisturize your skin a LOT even, if you have oily skin. ** So here I am feeling better with this routine: 1. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser ** I don’t use it every morning, only when I feel my face dirty because I have very dry skin **gently and has niacinamide 😬 so a + $14.99 2. I'm from - Rice Toner It’s my favorite toner so far!! It’s soooo hydrating 🥰 I already order another one 😬 $27 a little pricey, but it’s worth it! 3. Krave - Great Barrier Relief Best serum I ever used! It’s very moisturizing and it just feel great on my skin. $28 4 LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer It’s very hydrating, but at the same time it doesn’t feel heavy on my skin. $14 5. Krave - The Beet Shield *Just started using this one so I’m not gonna rate it yet, but so far it’s good, I noticed it leaves your face a little bit shiny, but doing bother me much. $20

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
