Find your perfect shade with these tips!
Finally find your perfect shade match by following these tips! Is your foundation the perfect match? Maybe the color is off a little or maybe you even have to mix shades. After working as a color artist at sephora, I’ve got foundation matching down to a T! Keep reading for my tips. 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐒 What is your undertone? Are you cool toned, warm toned, or a mix of both aka neutral toned? Do you look more yellow or pink? 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙚: Take a look at your veins on your wrist or where you can see them show through. If they appear 𝘽𝙇𝙐𝙀 then you are a cool tone. If they appear 𝙂𝙍𝙀𝙀𝙉 then you are a warm tone. A mix of 𝘽𝙊𝙏𝙃 green & blue is a neutral tone. NOW take a look in the mirror and lets identify what type of warm, cool, or neutral tone you are. In the mirror look at your neck and collarbone/chest area. What color do you see? Cool tones look for: PINK, RED, PEACH, BLUE & VIOLET. (violet for our deep skin babes) Warm tones: YELLOW, ORANGE, GOLDEN, OLIVE (olive can be warm or neutral) Neutral tones tend to be right in-between. You may see some yellow, but also some pink or other cool tone..etc. I am medium to tan warm olive! I often have a hard time finding my shade due to the lack of warm olive undertones in foundations. 𝙁𝙊𝙐𝙉𝘿𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 Most of us know that there is not always an inclusive shade range in a lot of foundations, but it is improving with brands like Fenty, Rare, Uoma, and many others. When picking a foundation read what type of undertone it is (check my photos above for examples) Since you’ve figured out or have an idea of your undertone, follow these steps to make sure your foundation matches as precise as possible. ① Swatch on your neck and bring it down towards your chest. ② let the swatch set a few minutes to make sure it doesn’t turn colors on you or oxidize. ③ does it match pretty well? Apply it to your face and see how it does for the rest of the day! 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙬𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨: UOMA BEAUTY - Say What?! Foundation This shade range goes by skin tones and undertones. Very fair, fair, olive, rich tan, brown, dark brown. * I own their complexion line and LOVE it. There is a review on my profile Rare Beauty - Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation A huge range with many undertone combos! FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation The first really inclusive line of shades, but needs work in the undertones IMO. flesh - Pure Liquid Foundation Awesome shade range and really goes into the deep shades w/ a variety of undertones. NARS - Soft Matte Complete Foundation An expanded foundation shade range with multiple undertones! Those are just a few lines that come to mind! Cmnt your undertone below! #cheriecreator

My Combo Skin Foundation Solution!
Finding the perfect foundation can be a struggle. If you weren’t blessed with perfect skin you know the struggle is actually real and sometimes it really sucks. My t-zone can be an oil slick while my cheeks are dry as a desert. I sometimes deal with drastic weather changes in my area so what my skin needs one day can be quite the opposite the next day! Now, everything starts with a solid skincare routine, then you need a good primer, but today we are just talking about foundation. Catch me later for the other topics 😉 I have tried so many foundations and have been so disappointed until I just realized that I am going to have to mix two different formulas. It’s actually smart to have a few different formulas on hand for different needs and climates. I don’t know why for so long I thought I just needed one foundation. I feel like Goldilocks when it comes to foundation because one will be too matte and another one melts off my face. It’s already a struggle finding a color match, so finding the right formula can make the battle even worse. Here is what I did! NARS - Soft Matte Complete Foundation recently came out and I had to try it. In the summer this will be my go to! But, for fall/winter I really needed something just a little more hydrating. NARS - Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation was perfect for the job. The shades in each formula are practically identical so that made things easy. I mix 1/3 of the Natural Radiant and 2/3 of the Matte and at the end of the day my makeup is still in place and I don’t look too dry or too oily in any areas. It also holds up fantastic under a mask as long as you use a good setting powder and spray. Thanks for reading and I hope this helps with your combination skin battles! ❤️😘

Nars Soft Matte Foundation on Dry Skin?!
Yess! It actually works for my dry skin! NARS - Soft Matte Complete Foundation I am a huge nars face make up girl and always go for dewy finishing foundations. But the nars fan in me had to give this a try! I actually really like it! It’s definitely long wearing, doesn’t transfer (so great under masks!), and has great coverage! It also has technology in the makeup so that the color doesn’t oxidize! I have to use a face oil underneath the foundation for best results and I apply with my fingers. It is a definite keeper for me and is in my foundation rotation. I am the color Barcelona - my usually in nars.

swatching nars soft matte foundation 👏🏾
i received a cute little sample of the new nars sheer glow foundation with my latest sephora order. yay for them having my shade, macao, available as a sample option. i have been a big fan of the sheer glow foundation formula for a while now. it’s my special occasion / “i need to look more pulled together” foundation. it is pretty sheer though, and while my skin is pretty good (the last image is my bare face, for comparison to the foundation), i can always see a little bit of my dark spots peeking through the sheer glow. i am totally fine with that, but if you’re not, perhaps the soft matte would be worth a look. that was the only difference i noticed on myself - they are both really natural-looking and soft, but the soft matte had a touch more coverage. they both wear beautifully throughout the day, with or without primer or setting spray. i also ended up blending them together after swatching the shades on my hand, and I really love how that came out. nars is clearly a bit more expensive - $47 for sheer glow and $40 for soft matte - so if i spring for the soft matte, i will probably wait until the holidays. i was also pleasantly surprised that the shade match for ‘macao’ was pretty similar for both NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation + NARS - Soft Matte Complete Foundation . nars is really skilled when it comes to pigments, so if you have an existing shade match, it will probably translate well across products. (this isn’t something that i always see, like with the fenty foundation.) have you checked out this foundation yet?? #cheriecreator

YOU NEED THESE PRODUCTS HUNNY. 💋💫
Oh hey! Back again with another list of products I’m tempted to buy. Ugh the struggle is real. Can’t Sephora/Ulta do what chipotle does? Chipotle gives out cards that allow whoever has those cards to eat at Chipotle for free. Sephora/Ulta should do the same except free shopping sprees. 😂 They would probably go bankrupt just because of me alone. Side note: THANK YOU FOR 128+ followers on Cherie! ❤️💋 (From top to bottom) 1. BPERFECT COSMETICS - Bperfect X Stacey Marie Carnival III Love Tahiti Palette WHERE TO BUY: bperfectcosmetics.com - $49.99 The colors in the palette are TO DIE FOR. You get 40 shades (31 -matte, 4 - pressed pigment, 3 - metallics, and 2 - shimmers). It looks like most of the palette is matte colors. If you buy this palette, you would never need to buy another palette again since you will have all the colors of the rainbow. I heard the pigmentation of each color is fantastic. To get great pigmentation for colors like yellow and purple, $49.99 is well worth the splurge. 2. Milk MAKEUP - Flex Highlighter WHERE TO BUY: Sephora.con - $28.00 -This highlighter has been sitting in my loves list and basket for so long. I think because I already have a lot of highlighters but I hear really good things about this blinding highlighter that I’ll probably buy it the next Sephora sale or if milk makeup has another sale. I did peep that they had a 25% off sale so this maybe purchased soon. 😭🤦🏽♀️ I’m an addict and need Jesus. 😂 3. L.A. Girl - Keep It Playful Eyeshadow Palette WHERE TO BUY: Ulta.com - $9.99 - These palettes are blatantly obvious dupes to the HUDA BEAUTY - Haze Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette. However hers go for $29.00 at 3.22 a shadow where as these go for $1.11 a shadow. These are brand new palettes to Ulta and the reviews look okay. Now that lockdown has been lifted, I may need to make a trip to Ulta and buy this palette. 4. NARS - Soft Matte Complete Concealer WHERE TO BUY : Sephora.com and Ulta.com - $30.00 - If you are OBSSESSED with tiktok like I have been, you may know mikayla Jane. She’s an amazing makeup artist with the dopest Boston accent. She’s ❤️❤️❤️ this concealer. She seems like she knows her stuff so I would totally go out and buy this concealer. 2K reviews on Sephora and 90% of the reviews are 4 stars or more. If I need a new pot concealer, I know which one I’m buying. 5. NARS - Soft Matte Complete Foundation WHERE TO BUY: Sephora.com and Ulta.com - $40.00 - This is a new addition to the soft matte family. Another one of Mikayla Jane new favorites. The reviews look promising and if it is just as good as the concealer, there’s going to be a new cult favorite foundation. Well that’s the tea on my top 5 new products list that I need to have. If you liked reading this post, give this a 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Check out my other posts as well and give those a 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 . LYLAS4EVA!
