💗Colored Hair Savers!💗
Here’s a scenario. Has this ever happened to you...? Day One: You have just spent £100 in a salon having your hair coloured to a beautiful warm brunette. Day 14: Your colour has faded and your confused as to why this has happened. The Science – During the colouring process the top layer of your hair is lifted to allow the colour to sit inside, this is then closed during the shampoo & condition process which locks the colour in. There are several reasons as to why colour can fade: The sun. Heat Damage. Using non-professional products. Hair being porous (dry) or damaged. Here are a few ways to maintain your hair colour... Use a heat protector and/or UV protector. Heat protectors and UV protectors prevent heat damage which in turn will prevent your colour fading. Use a salon professional shampoo and conditioner. Most shop bought shampoos contain more sulphates than active ingredients. Sulphates are purely a lathering agent and are often found in things like washing up liquid, and they can strip the hair of its colour. Salon professional colour shampoos are either sulphate free or they contain a low amount of sulphates, they also contain active ingredients to maintain the colour, and to keep the hair looking fresh and healthy. My favourite is milk shakē - Integrity Nourishing Shampooandmilk shakē - Integrity Nourishing Conditioner, it is designed to maintain colour, nourish and moisturise the hair. I use these products regularly and my colour lasts longer with added shine. Wash your hair less often. If you have vibrant colours in your hair that will only last a few shampoos, simply wash your hair less often. Dry shampoo is a must have!! Keep up with regular haircuts. If the ends of your hair are split and dry, they will not hold the colour as long as the healthy part of the hair. So to keep the whole head hair looking fresh make sure you have a good haircut at every appointment (6-8 weeks).
