Shave Your Face @ Home With Me (tutorial✨)
Shave Your Face @ Home With Me (tutorial✨)
Shaving your face is not the same as having it professionally dermaplaning. When getting your face professionally dermaplaned, a licensed esthetician will use a medical grade scalpel to exfoliate your face. I find that shaving you face at home is far more cost effective. Dermaplaning can start off at $150 and range upwards anywhere (depending where you live). Benefits of shaving your face (home style “dermaplaning”): Exfoliation Removes Service Debris Better absorption of makeup & skincare products Diminishes Fine lines and wrinkles Helps Appearance of hyperpigmentation YOUR FACIAL HAIRS WILL NOT GROW BACK THICKER! I promise you! Vellus Hairs (tiny hairs on your face), will not grow back thicker when shaving your face with a razor. That only tends to happen during a wax, because the hairs are being forced from the follicles (roots). My Routine: I am currently calming down from a breakout from my hormones and eating ice cream while in my period 👎🏽 I do this routine once a month: 1. Cleanse: KORRES - Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser 2. Tone: puremay - Soft Serum Toner 3. Oil Prep: Cliganic - 100% Rosehip Oil A lot of people say to use on dry skin, but since my skin is kind of sensitive/dry around my cheeks.. I prefer to use this oil. Also shaving on dry skin can cause irritation and microtears 5. Shave: Schick - Silk Touch-Up Facial Razor I prefer these over rink because of the length and sharpness. ALWAYS USE A NEW RAZOR EACH TIME! 6. Cleanse Again: KORRES - Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser 7. Tone: KORRES - H2Rose Hydrating Face Mist 8. Hydrate/Correct: The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA This has hyaluronic acid in it and my HG for hyperpigmentation Alpha Arbutin. APPLY TO DAMP SKIN 9 Treat: PACIfICA - Clean Shot Mushrooms & Caffeine 7% Solution Great for irritation/inflammation. This is the game changer when shaving your face to avoid irritation! 10. Eyes: PACIfICA - Vegan Collagen Recovery Eye Cream Amazing for replacing moisture! 11. Moisturize: PEACH & LILY - Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream Amazing moisturizer that didn’t irritate my skin. *** I later applied sunscreen after my skin was calmed down***

Breaking The Myth: Glycolic Acid & Retinoids
Breaking The Myth: Glycolic Acid & Retinoids
So there’s a thing going around that you shouldn’t mix glycolic acid (AHA) with Retinol (retinoids). ✨ (I will post links to medical studies done and their proven results) ✨ I will say that I have experimented with this for a few weeks and my skin has cleared up tremendously! I just incorporated the glycolic acid but my skin has been fine. I DO NOT have: Sensitive skin Allergies ACTIVE OPEN BREAKOUTS (few minor bumps here and there) Dry Skin (I’m more combo) ”Active New Skin” (I have been using Differin Gel for 3 months Glycolic acid for 2 weeks. My skin is adjusted to actives) If you have any of those this might cause you irritation. 🚨I use this once-twice a week to treat small hyperpigmentation issues and texture irregularities.🚨 Why do professionals not recommend them together? Many professionals see that people experience irritation, sensitivity, and other issues. There’s also a concern that the PH level of glycolic acid will disrupt retinol. This research is outdated and done in a Petri dish NOT skin. There is room for irritation, which you would still experience.. using them separately! I also would not recommend if you suffer from any other issues as stated above, or to introduce everything slowly! My routine: Cleanser philosophy - Nature In A Jar Gentle Detoxifying Cleanser With Agave Amazing gentle cleanser that helps prevent inflammation. (I also recommend CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser) Tone The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Can be drying, I recommend using a hydrating cleanser. Serum: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 🚨Skip this is you’re new to this routine🚨 Treat: SKINCEUTICALS - A.G.E. Eye Complex for Dark Circles HG for dark circles! DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel HG FOR ANY ACNE ! Moisturize: nooni - Applebutter Lip Mask Leaves my lips very smooth CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Very gentle and great for this routine Cliganic - 100% Rosehip Oil I love to mix this in as a extra layer of Vitamin A and to keep my acne at bay. I only add 2 drops to my moisturizer. Links for research: Chandrashekar, B., Ashwini, K., Vasanth, V. & Navale, S. I Tried This $50 Face Oil And...
I was not impressed.. I purchased this oil for $12 on Boxycharm because I love using a great face oil at night. Face oils are a great layer of hydration to use after your moisturizer. A great facial moisturizer will: seals in moisture promote glowy skin not clog your pores protect skin help foundation apply smoothly The best way to use a facial oil is to apply after your moisturizer OR mix in with your moisturizer. EMMA HARDIE - Brilliance Facial Oil This oil has sweet almond oil apricot oil Olive oil black currant seed oil grape seed oil lemon oil lavender oil With all these oils I expected better results.. but I find it to not even be close to as beneficial as my Cliganic - 100% Rosehip Oil. I think the issue was the fragrance, limonene, & corral. All of these can cause sensitivity to skin and I think this it what happened to me. I try and try expensive sometimes because of the “hype” and glad I got this on sale because I would’ve been very upset if I spent $50!

You’re Missing This Exfoliating Jelly ✨
You’re Missing This Exfoliating Jelly ✨
I recently had a chance to purchase some Elemis products for a discounted price and wanted to try this: ELEMIS - Superfood Blackcurrant Jelly Exfoliator I love a good exfoliant! It just makes my skin feel so new again. This product: Blackcurrent: rich in antioxidants, antibacterial, and helps to restore moisture barrier. Black Seed Oil: I actually was taking this as a oil to boost my immune system a couple years ago! It’s helps to restore skin lipid barrier and promotes a healthy glow. Grape Seed Oil: this is an amazing moisturizing oil! I use this on my hair and skin already so to find it in a product is just and added bonus. Nordic Bilberry: “superberry” this protects your skin against free radical damage and also has plenty of antioxidants Black Tea: anti-aging, reduces puffiness, & great for acne! How to use Wet face Massage for about a minute (it’s your preference) Wash off and dry skin My thoughts: -It doesn’t have much of a smell which is always a plus for me when using products that have to stay on my face longer than a minute. -It did have a warming effect which I don’t mind as much now. -It did have little fine beads (blackcurrent) which I didn’t mind because I do love the feel of a scrub. It wasn’t overbearing either! -It left my skin feeling so soft and smooth! Routine: Cleanse CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin Exfoliant ELEMIS - Superfood Blackcurrant Jelly Exfoliator Tone: PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner Treat The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel Moisturize CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion Cliganic - 100% Rosehip Oil

Favorite Nighttime Acne Moisturizing 🌙
Favorite Nighttime Acne Moisturizing 🌙
During that time of the month my acne gets out of control. I’m 24 years old and pretty sure my skin doesn’t know it. Yet, with that being said.. I get the occasional hormonal breakout & the closed comedones on my forehead. (Remember not all forehead acne is fungal acne!) I love the CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion ! It’s packed with niacinamide - great for pores, acne, & oil control. hyaluronic acid- humectant, repairs the skin moisture barrier light, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, oil-free, fragrance free (for my sensitive skin lovelies), & leaves your skin very soft. I mix it with the Cliganic - 100% Rosehip Oil . I got this rosehip oil from Amazon for $8.99. (I’ve also used The Ordinary & Rhadas Rosehip). Rosehip oil is: rich in vitamin A (helps diminish scars & improves skin texture) prevents acne (vitamin A & linoleic acid [vitamin F], proven to reduce acne by controlling sebum) How I use: ** I use Differin Gel every night, and I mix the Cliganic - 100% Rosehip Oil with CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion 2:3 ratio —2 Drops of Rosehip oil , 3 FULL Pumps of CeraVe Moisturizer on back of clean, dry hands If your face is too oily afterwards you’ve used to much Rosehip oil and should decrease the ration by one (1:2)

Beat Acne With This Simple Guide
Beat Acne With This Simple Guide
( This is not my photo but I have tried most of these combos)✨ Comedones: these are flesh or white colored bumps (usually most common) Bakuchoil: gentle alternative for retinol. THE inkey LIST - Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Moisturizer Azelaic Acid: amazing acid (I just reviewed). Great for acne and pore exfoliating! The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% Granactive Retinoids: lower irritation than retinol (less strength) The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (I find using Differin gel can help to but it can be irritating and shouldn’t be paired with other active ingredients) Oil Production: Niacinamide: vitamin B3 that helps with oil production (especially paired with Zinc) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Bacteria: Bakuchiol Azelaic Acid Inflammation Niacinamide (best as serum) Bakuchoil (best as moisturizer) Azelaic Acid (better in cream form (especially if you have sensitive skin) Granactive Retinol: (better as serum) Remember to always layer from lightest to heaviest! My personal routine for active acne: Morning ☀️ Cleanse Tone Serum (The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% in oil areas) Treat (The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% everywhere) Moisturize Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 (great for sensitive skin and when mixing actives) Evening Cleanse Tone Serum (The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% in oily areas) Treat (DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel ) Moisturize CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion mixed with Cliganic - 100% Rosehip Oil ) I have used alternative retinol, but I found my skin to get used to it and I wanted something stronger. If you mix these products together (as suggested by the guide) stick to granactive retinol and using bakuchiol. Less chance to experience irritation.
