Some cleansing balms for Oily/Acne prone skin
Some cleansing balms for Oily/Acne prone skin
Here's a tower shot of some cleansing balms I have been using... I have tried some cleansing balms in the past that either broke me out or I didn't like, these are some I tried and liked : @banilacousa Clean it zero cleansing balm BANILA CO - Clean It Zero 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm - ✨ Fragrance free ✨Removes makeup, sunscreen and other non-waterproof makeup ✨Glides easily and feels so lightweight ✨ Emulsifies so well and rinses off completely ✨ Doesn't leave a greasy film and doesn't sting/blur eyes @elemis Pro collagen cleansing balmELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm - ✨ Has strong fragrance ✨Removes makeup, sunscreen and other non-waterproof makeup ✨Glides easily and feels so lightweight ✨ Emulsifies so well and rinses off completely ✨ Doesn't leave a greasy film and doesn't sting/blur eyes @lxmiofficial Pure nilotica oil LXMI - Pure Nilotica Melt Nourishing Balm-to-Oil ( Even though this isn't sold as a cleansing balm I really like how it removes makeup and also doesn't clog pores) ✨Fragrance free ✨Texture is thick, melts into oil ✨Removes makeup and sunscreen ✨ Doesn't emulsify ✨Leaves a greasy film on skin The cleansing balms I didn't like: @drunkelephant - Slaai makeup melting butter cleanserDRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser (This has marula oil and surprisingly it broke me out.I out this to test in different scenarios but every time I used it it gave me small breakouts, so is a no for me) @ponds cold cream makeup removerPOND'S - Cold Cream Cleanser ( This is thick cold cream that is packaged and marketed to remove makeup and dirt but isn't the best experience. It's too occlusive and doesn't glide on skin easily. It also doesn't emulsify at all and leaves that crazy thick film on skin when rinsed with water. Well, it doesn't even rinse off to start with) @banilacousa Clean it Zero is my favorite so far. Works the best for Oily/Acne prone skin. I bought this value size tub on Amazon for 23$ which is truly a bang for the buck.

Banila Co Cleansing Balm — Eye Makeup Remover
Banila Co Cleansing Balm — Eye Makeup Remover
Function: To melt stubborn makeup without harsh rubbing, especially around the eye and lip areas. It contains ingredients to naturally exfoliate the skin while deeply cleansing your face. Contains vit c, vit e, and ester oil. Also, uses an ingredient derived from green tea to add natural fragrance (smells SO good). Consistency: The smoothest butter that isn’t too thick or hard to work in. Compared to the Slaai balm from DE, this one is much easier to use and doesn’t feel all icky and heavy. Even though balms are washed off after a few minutes, it’s really nice that this one feels more comfortable, whereas DE’s balm is really annoying to have on for even a few minutes. Experience: if you can’t tell already, I am obsessed with this balm. It is smells great without irritating fragrance added, takes off my makeup so quick and easy, and it really makes my face feel so clean. I love that when you work it around your eyes, it doesn’t make your vision blurry after rinsing (this has been my experience with other brands). I’ve used this every night for a week, even on days that I don’t wear makeup because it is the perfect first step in double cleansing. I finish washing my face with a HoliFrog cleanser, but I’m gonna start using the Banila Co cleanser to see how it pairs with their balm! Really love how this is not irritating nor drying at all. The hype with this product is real, y’all!! I definitely recommend it 👍🏻 it’s on the pricier end for a cleansing product — but this balm works hard and is beyond worth it. Price: $27 for 180mL

I know some friends prefer balm makeup removers and personally I think this is probably one of the better ones out there. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This comes with a small spatula you can use to scoop a small amount up with. It starts out as a solid balmy cleanser but it melts into a creamy cleansing oil texture once applied. It feels great! You can give yourself a nice facial massage with this as you remove your makeup as it has a slick texture that glides onto skin easily. As you rinse, it emulsifies and goes milky like a cleansing oil and rinses away dirt and oil easily without stripping skin. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Although I enjoyed using this product, I am slightly on the fence for few reasons: first, it contains fragrance. I’m not overly sensitive to it but it’s something I decided to stop using very soon which means I can’t keep the clean it zero in my routine. I also don’t like the thin film feeling it leaves after use. That said though, this is my personal opinion, and in no way do you have to see this as a negative as well.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬:⁣⁣⁣ ~ doesn’t feel heavy⁣⁣ ~ nicely breaks up all debris on skin⁣⁣ ~ didn’t sting/burn or irritated my eyes⁣⁣ ~ no tugging required! Yes! I think that the product is worth every cent. It cleanses very well and with the amount you get, it definitely lasts a long time. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝗪𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞? My favorite cleansing balm in action
My favorite cleansing balm in action
I love Banila Co clean it zero for one main reason that is, it emulsifies really well and rinses everything off before moving to second cleanser. Also, it doesn't leave any residue behind, like a greasy film or it doesn't enter in eyes which in some cases gives a blurry vision moment. The second reason is it's very affordable, this large tub is for 23$ which is a pretty good deal. This cleanser is lightweight, mushy texture which glides on face without you having to tug skin. The ingredients list is pretty decent,. doesn't contain alcohol, mineral oil (which for some people is a no) It has some botanical extracts, aloe vera and essential oils (which I avoid in other treatments but I don't mind in a wash off treatment) How I judge a certain product or formulation is never solely based on the ingredients, I check on formulation, texture, first experience. This all eventually determines how much you're going to enjoy using that product and how often you'll reach for it. This was the only balm I loved and didn't irritate my acne prone skin. Also the whole emusifying experience gave me a notion that it's cleaning everything off really well. BANILA CO - Clean It Zero 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm

BANILA Cleanser---One of My Absolute Favorites💞
BANILA Cleanser---One of My Absolute Favorites💞
It smells lightly sweet and floral. The cleanser melted completely on my skin and immediately started working on my mascara, I could see it smearing as I worked it in. What I like the most about this cleanser is that it rinses cleaner than other oil cleansers I've used. I really like the Innisfree olive oil cleanser, but I like how my skin feels when I wash this off. It feels less greasy after, and overall my skin feels cleaner after using my foaming cleanser. I understand why people rave about this product! As the pic says, it can remove all your makeups in only 3 easy steps! Overall a really good product takes off even the most stubborn makeup with eases, including waterproof mascara and even the strongest lip stain. The very smooth formula melts immediately in the hands so very little tugging on the skin. Does not feel pore clogging at all, easy to wash off with a face wash. The packaging is very sleek and travels friendly. This cleanser has become an essential part of my evening cleansing routine. I use it as a pre-cleanse to melt away my make-up and build-up from the day. The cleanser goes on like a balm. It is light and virtually melts on to my skin, making a nice emollient cream to remove difficult make-up (I almost ALWAYS have raccoon eyes from my mascara no matter what I use. This product totally cleans my lashes free of any residue!). It washes off well and sets the stage for cleansing. I use a foaming cleanser after this balm and love how to clean and soft my skin feels. This is worth every penny. It lasts about two months and is a great value. I totally recommend it, even for those with sensitive skin (like mine). BANILA CO - Clean It Zero 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm

I recently won a giveaway courtesy of @citizenglow on instagram, who gave me a $100 giftcard to Soko Glam! I cant give them a fair review yet but I thought I’d give you all a quick rundown of the products I chose and first impressions! Benton - Benton Snail Bee Ultimate Serum $27 for 1.18 oz Ingredients: snail mucin, bee venom, niacinamide, adenosine, tea tree, camellia sinensis leaf water Claims: skin repair, treats hyperpigmentation and scarring, acne-fighting, soothing, anti-wrinkle. Fragrance, alcohol, and PEG-free! I’m so excited to use this because the idea of snail mucin and bee venom is so interesting to me and I love that theyre a natural remedy to skin concerns, even though it isnt vegan. BANILA CO - Clean It Zero 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm $19 for 3.38 oz Ingredients: vitamin c, acerola extract, ester oil, vitamin E acetate Claims: melts stubborn makeup without stripping skin, naturally exfoliates and brightens Contains mild rose fragrance This is my very first cleansing balm as I’ve never really felt the need for them, so i dont have much to compare it to. However, the consistency seems waxy at first and emulsifies very easily into an oil cleanser! I’m excited to see how effective it is. dear, klairs - Free Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask $27 for 3.04 oz Ingredients: niacinamide, vitamin E, adenosine, sodium hyaluronate, ceramides, centella asiatic, other extracts Claims: antioxidant, anti aging, brightening, regenerating Contains essential oils, fragrance&alcohol free I’m very excited to use this as I am a total slut for antioxidants 😍 and i love its creamy texture! It can be used as a rinse-off mask, sleeping mask, or even moisturizer and it definitely has a luxurious feel to it. THANK YOU FARMER - Back to Relax Soothing Gel Mask $38 for 3.38 ounces (on sale for $26) Ingredients: pomegranate extract, cica, fig, licorice, aloe vera, soluble collagen, sodium hyaluronate, allantoin, vitamin B5, squalane Claims: antioxidant, healing and reparation, plumping, hydrating, soothing contains fragrance and alcohol at the bottom of the ingredients list I usually dont love gel masks because they make me feel sticky but this one is very lightweight and not sticky at all! i can tell its going to be very hydrating, although im surprised alcohol is included in a mask for sensitive skin (ill admit i didnt notice that before purchasing). Regardless, I’m looking forward to seeing if it does what it claims! papa recípe - Bombee Moist Sun Essence SPF 50+ PA+++ $21 for 1.7 oz Ingredients: titanium dioxide, honey, bee propolis, royal jelly extract, multiple botanical extracts, vitamin E, allantoin Claims: nourishing, broad spectrum sun protection, promotes healthy skin barrier, moisturizing contains alcohol I love trying new SPF! I love the texture and it doesnt seem to leave a white cast, and its SPF rating is great so I’m excited to incorporate it into my routine! Lmk if you have questions!
