✨Pore Minimizing AM Routine for Combo/dry Skin✨
Hi lovely beautiful people ☀️❤️ Today I want to share the AM skincare routine I’ve been using for awhile now, with the exception of the THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm that I just got my hands on 4 days ago. I truly believe I am seeing great results and would love to hear what y’all think 😛 My skin type: Slightly sensitive, combination skin more on the dry side My skin concerns ❌Uneven texture, on my cheeks and nose primarily ❌Large pore appearance and gunk built up in my pores ❌Mild breakouts + blackheads ❌Severe wrinkles between eyebrows and on forehead as well as around my mouth for only being 27 ...so basically everything lol 🌸 1 🌸 THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm I ❤️❤️❤️ this CB. Before I got this gem 4 days ago I was using the HERBIVORE - Pink Cloud Rosewater + Tremella Creamy Jelly Cleanser as my morning cleanse (as well as my 2nd cleanse at night) and I think it worked beautifully, but my main goal is to improve my skin texture right now and in order to do that I need to break down the gunk that’s built up over the years. But I also need to repair my moisture barrier, so I wanted to use this super nourishing cleansing balm as my AM cleanse. I really feel it smoothing out and gently buffing my skin when I massage. I run it gently into my skin for at least 8 minutes. I always get that satisfying feeling of feeling gunk coming out when I cleanse with this. Also there are great emulsifiers in this formula so it rinses off of the skin completely + beautifully. After I rinse this off, cue... 🍉2🍉 GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner I think this toner is so unique and awesome I’m so many ways. it has this gloopy jelly like texture when the product is picked up. A little goes a long way! I bought the small size and have more than 70% left after 6+ weeks of use. This has amazing ingredients like cactus water, watermelon, PHAs, BHA (from willow bark), hyaluronic acid + more. It exfoliates but EVER so gently, I use it am + pm, except on days where I use more intensive exfoliating treatments or retinol. 👩🔬3👩🔬 While my skin is damp from applying the toner I go in with Awake - Glow Pill serum. It contains Niacinamide as the second ingredient, as well as several different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid. 🍒3🍒 FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry is what I apply after the glow pill. This stuff smells amazing like cherries! Just started it 2 weeks ago so no results so far but I love the formula and texture. 💦4💦 FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer I LOVE this! It’s a lighter version of the ultra repair cream. It’s amazing ☀️SPF☀️ COOLA - Mineral Face SPF30 Matte Cucumber I love this as it mattifies my skin but not too much. It blurs my pores a bit as well.
This is the softest cleanser you’ll ever use!
What: ◾️Pink Cloud Rose Water + Tremella Jelly Cleanser ◾️Helps remove makeup and gently cleanse without stripping. It’s good for normal, dry, combination, and oily skin. ◾️Could help minimize the appearance of pores and reduce redness. ◾️It has a base of rose and coconut water (not oil! I do not put coconut oil on my face!) ◾️It contains squalane (aids in makeup removal) and tremella mushrooms (superfood), which help with hydration. Why I love it: ◽️Soft, gel like texture is quite soothing when applied. ◽️ It is lightweight and amount to be applied is easily controlled with the dispenser. ◽️I love glass bottles - you can clearly see the product inside and this particular product is a gorgeous pink. I don’t even like pink but this has me reconsidering. Also, glass is recyclable or could be upcycled ♻️ ◽️ The product DOES feel like what I imagine a cloud would feel like - no lies told here. ◽️It is affordable! The 100mL (larger) bottle is $24 at Sephora. For an excellent cleanser, that’s a deal. ◽️It is a #vegan #crueltyfree #glutenfree product. How I use it: ◾️Following an oil or balm cleanser as part of a double cleanse. I do not always use soap on my face in the morning especially if I had a good night routine. But for mornings that I need something light and hydrating, this is my go-to. Have you tried this? Do you like it? Comment below! HERBIVORE - Pink Cloud Rosewater + Tremella Creamy Jelly Cleanser

Rosacea/Sensitive skin routine!
This is my new routine for the fall. I recently found out I have rosacea and hormonal acne so I have been experimenting with what products would best suit my skin. For reference: the hormonal birth control pill is what has cleared up my skin dramatically, and I cannot attribute my routine to clearing it up. But my routine is keeping my skin’s moisture barrier soft, healthy and glowing. I will add a brief overview of my routine and why it’s working so well for me! HERBIVORE - Pink Cloud Rosewater + Tremella Creamy Jelly Cleanser This cleanser is everything.... it’s low foaming, soft and gentle and effectively melts off any and all makeup and sunscreen. It’s non stripping, the only smell to it is very natural and not strong at all, and it’s also very hydrating. Tremella mushroom provides more hydration than regular Hyaluronic acid, and plant based squalane emulsifies all of the makeup and dirt on the skin to gently yet effectively whisk it away. When you rinse, your skin feels so comfortable and never tight/dry. My tried and true CeraVe hydrating cleanser started burning my skin so this cleanser has been a game changer for me! evian - Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray I made a post about this mist. I find that the water in NYC can be a little hard so using this resets my skin’s pH balance and makes for a very soothing product in my routine. I follow with moisturizer after using this lovely fine mist. Kiehl's - Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer This is such a lovely, simple cream. It has squalane, glycerin, apricot, avocado, olive and rice bran oils, and glacial glycoprotein. This moisturizer is thick enough to help the skin retain moisture and stay soft and supple without being heavy. I love this and I think it’s perfect for the fall to keep combination/normal/oily skin in check! DRUNK ELEPHANT - F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask Such a lovely product from drunk elephant! This is a multi use moisturizer/mask. It’s a leave on treatment chock full of hydrating and nourishing ingredients like electrolytes, vitamin F beads (they melt when you massage it in), a large dose of Niacinamide and squalane. This product is so lightweight yet moisturizing and really locks in hydration. I use this on top of my moisturizer night and day for glowy and happy skin! SUNDAY RILEY - Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream One of the only eye creams I actually like! There is a slightly botanical smell to it, but it doesn’t linger. This cream is very moisturizing, illuminating and instantly brightening/depuffing. When I use it I don’t have to use much concealer for my dark undereyes! GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask A very gentle retinol eye cream. No peeling/irritation. I find this helps to smooth texture and helps milia too! Not very clinical but still a nice product.

My First Cherie Convo Post! 🏷 Skin Positivity
Let’s talk about perspective. I am not a psychologist, but I did have some training in nursing school, and there are two concepts that I want to talk about when it comes to skin. 1. Body Dysmorphia: Most people associate this diagnosis with eating disorders, the classic image of a thin girl seeing herself as fat in a mirror. This is a common form of body dysmorphia but not the only type, and I would like to bet the other types are actually more common! Body dysmorphia can be a fixation on real or perceived body flaws that your mind blows out of proportion. This could be for instance, thinking your nose is the size of a duck beak when in reality it is small for an Italian, OR thinking one tiny pimple is the size of your entire face! You see what I’m getting at here? We all fixate on weird little things that we think are huge but no one else notices. 2. Cognitive Distortions: Similarly, cognitive distortions are your brain blowing things out of proportion irrationally, often in a downward spiral. For example: OMG that pimple is huge -> why is it so big and noticeable -> its so ugly -> im so ugly -> everyone is gonna see it and think im gross -> no one will take me seriously because they think I dont take care of myself -> I should just stay inside instead. Again, skin and beauty fixations can DEFINITELY fall under cognitive distortions. If you notice things look worse the more you look at them, then it is probably your brain being mean to you and not your actual skin!! For instance, I used an exfoliating serum last night, and when I woke up i groggily felt my face and it felt SO SMOOTH. Then I looked in the mirror, and all I could see was the GIANT pimple on my neck, worse than yesterday and HIDEOUS. I feel like its a volcanic eruption popping out of my neck. Then I look at the rest of my face and suddenly it doesnt seem so smooth and glowy anymore. My eyes are bloodshot from lack of sleep, my dark circles are terrible, i have forehead creases and texture, my dark spots arent going away, and my lips are chapped. I look gross. First picture is my one pimple, next to what I think my pimple looks like (zoomed in). The second picture is my face in my poor bathroom lighting with the contrast increased a bit. Third picture is what the little pimple actually looks like in sunlight. Fourth and final picture is my skin in the sun, absolutely zero makeup or primer or anything with shimmer, just naturally glowing beautiful skin!! It is all about perspective. Skin positivity doesn’t necessarily have to be about loving your acne or imperfections, sometimes it is just knowing that they are NORMAL, and most importantly to STOP FOCUSING ON THE BLEMISHES! Take a selfie in bright sunlight and allow yourself to see all the beautiful things about your skin. Reframe the way you see your skin and STOP STARING IN THE MIRROR! Love you all in this community ❤️ Side note: someone please explain these neck zits? Im getting them a lot suddenly the past few months 😫

Dupe for Glossier jelly cleanser
Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser $18 available on Glossier.com for 177ml Gently removes make up and cleanse skin. Made for all skin types. Based with soothing rose water, comfrey root extract, and pro vitamin-B5, this cleanser is meant to soothes and heals dry stresses skin. Use one-two pumps on dry skin to remove make and rinse off with water. There’s no “soap” content in this cleanser. Instead they are based with poloxamer— gentle surfactant that helps to break up the product on micellar level— generally used in contact lens solution, mouth wash, micellar water , etc. I personally love this cleanser in the morning. And I love love the way it smells. bliss - Makeup Melt Jelly Cleanser $10-$14 depending on the retail, for 190ml. I think Target has it for $9.99. I got mine at CVS with one of their coupons. 😜 Similar to its Glossier’s brother, it can also be used dry/ wet. Also based with rose water and pro vitamin-B5 it gently removes make up as well as cleanse. While it is made for all skin types it is best for dry stressed skin. This cleanser uses Apple Amino Acids— Derived from apple juice essential amino acids – a natural surfactant that gently cleanses eyes and skin. It is a lil’ but less jelly than the Glossier cleanser and smells different (smells great!) but overall cleanse the same. It is literally the same cleanser. So if you are in the market for something more accessible than Glossier or just something less expensive, this is a great dupe! But both are amazing products that I will repurchase again and again. My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
