✔️Results! Let's get rid of Hyperpigmentation! ✨
✔️Results! Let's get rid of Hyperpigmentation! ✨
If you know me for my Acne journey, you know I managed to leave my hormonal acne at bay. For few weeks I've been focusing on my Acne scars (dark spots) or Hyperpigmentation. For my Indian/brown skin it is inevitable to take care of my Post inflammatory Hyperpigmentation as it tends to get worse with time and sun exposure. The key to start with gettind rid of hyperpigmentation is Sunscreen. Mostly an SPF 30+. It is very important to calm those Melanocytes (cells that produce Melanin) and stop/reduce inter-cell transfer of melanin once it's produced. ✨This can be done with the help of these ingredients : 1. Niacinamide - Brightens skin, reduces Inter-transfer of melanin, Calms melanocytes 2. Alpha Arbutin - Brightening agent, stops excessive melanin production 3. L-Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) - Brightens and lightens dark spots 4. Azelaic acid - Brightens, gently exfoliates and calms Melanocytes 5. AHAs and Retinol - Increase cell turnover and exfoliate skin for brightening of hyperpigmentation. These all are my current favorites and are absolutely effective. Their formulation is so good I have been able to enjoy using them. ✨AM routine : 1. PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner 2. ( I use this to prevent further breakouts, and I experienced slight brightening with this as well) NATURIUM - BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% 3. @naturium Alpha Arbutin 1% essence NATURIUM - Alpha Arbutin Essence 1% 4. @naturium Super serum plus on alternate days NATURIUM - Vitamin C Super Serum Plus 5. @naturium Azelaic acid 10% serum NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% 6.NATURIUM - Alpha Arbutin Serum 2% 7. @leegeehaam Royal Propolis vitam amploule 8. @sundayriley Tidal enzyme water cream ( This has Alpha arbutin and some other brightening ingredients) SUNDAY RILEY - Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream I mix @cosmedix L-Ascorbic acid powder COSMEDIX - Pure Mixing Crystals Vitamin C Powder with this cream and apply. It works amazing!! Or @sundayriley C.E.O vitamin C rich cream SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream 9. @tula protect +glow SPF 30 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 10. How I cleared my Acne - My AM and PM routine
How I cleared my Acne - My AM and PM routine
Swipe left !! 🔙 So, my Hormonal acne is almost cleared up and I'm so excited to share with you how I cleared my acne as well as what products worked amazing for that! As shown in pictures six months back I had painful, bleeding cystic acne that flared up because of PCOS (Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome). I managed to leave them at bay now, leaving me focused on just the acne scars which are also faded a lot! I believe whoever has hormonal acne, or breakouts in general this routine will for you! So here's my morning and nighttime routine for past six months ( some products are added recently but they're helping me in maintaining my skin Acne-free) AM - @fresh Soy cleanserfresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash @innisfree Panthenol 10 tonerinnisfree - Truecare Panthenol 10 Moisture Skin @naturium Hyaluronic acid essence 2% NATURIUM - Hyaluronic Acid Essence 2% @Tula Pro-Glycolic PH resurfacing tonerTULA SKINCARE - Pro-Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Toner Alternate day (replacing AHA/ @tula toner) - @naturium Vitamin C Super serum plusNATURIUM - Vitamin C Super Serum Plus @theordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% @naturium Niacinamide 12% + Zinc 2% NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% @sundayriley C.E.O Vitamin C rich hydration cream SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Curology - Curology formula Two nights in a week (replacing @curology formula) - @sundayriley A+ Retinoid serum / @theordinary Granactive retinoid 2% emulsionSUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum This is my detailed routine and I really want to root for Azaleic acid as an ingredient as it helped me with my acne as well as (PIH)dark spots at the same time. Azaleic acid is such a great all rounder and no brainer when it comes to treating Acne and lightening/fading dark spots. Quick overlook of it's benefits- - Anti-microbial (hence kills acne causing bacteria) - Anti-inflammatory (reduces redness and look of blemishes) -Gently exfoliates skin (Unlike potent AHA but gives similar exfoliation) - Reduces skin texture and textural irregularities - Lightens and brightens dark spots, PIH, melasma by slowing down melanin production - Works well with almost all actives including AHA/BHA, Vitamin C, Retinols - Isn't photosensitive meaning you can use it in the morning as well as at night. Which product/ingredient you like the most? ⭐

Which Sunscreen is better for Oily skin type?
Which Sunscreen is better for Oily skin type?
Being a girl with skin of color, I often worry about getting frequent hyperpigmentation and dark spots. I'm Indian, brown, which leads to the importance of sunscreen in my life more than anything! I had Active Hormonal Acne for several years. That caused me stubborn dark spots on my cheeks and I feel I'm still fighting with them after years. I am on my skincare journey to get rid of my hormonal acne but what's more important for me is the PIH (Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation). I can say Acne is easier to treat than hyperpigmentation for skin of color. And for that, Sunscreen plays a vital role. I have Oily/Combination skin type. And I always struggle to find a good Sunceeen formula that works good, doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and is non-greasy! I tried these three along with many others but I feel I should speak about these first. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50 was my go to for a long time. It worked well on my skin. I found it a little greasy and heavy but I used to be ok with it until it started burning my eyes. I kept using it for months and it irritated my eyes more and more. The formula is oily more than watery and it's nowhere near to be called a gel. It leaves a slight white cast which I used to be fine with. Now it's laying around in my drawer only for review purpose! I believe The Ultra sheer fry touch is a better drugstore option for Oily/Combination skin. Another drugstore option is Aveeno - Protect + Hydrate Lotion Sunscreen I found it absolutely similar to Neutrogena Hydro boost. Similar in consistency and finish. Leaves skin greasy and leaves white cast. And it also burns my eyes. If you apply your morning skincare underneath this will make you look more greasy. Third option is more recent and I was quite excited about this one TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 as it said Daily suncreen 'Gel'. I wanted a lightweight gel formula for my oily skin and I thought this is it. But It's sadly not. This has shimmer in it that helps with not leaving a white cast on skin but makes you look like a disco ball. I apply my morning skincare every single day and on top of that I tried this sunscreen. It leaves skin the most oily and heavy. The shimmer in it adds more shine and that's what I was avoiding. The only good thing about this is, it doesn't burn my eyes. One plus point that I appreciate a lot. But the formula and finish of it is a big No for me. It leaves me with K-beauty Sunscreens. I am about to order Purito, Klairs and Biore' from yesstyle. I will be reviewing them later. Hope this helps for someone who has similar skin like me! ❤️

Blackheads and Bumpy texture who?? 😍✨
Blackheads and Bumpy texture who?? 😍✨
This post is for anyone who wants to get rid of blackheads and textural irregularities!! Quickly dropping these two Ingredients today for anyone who has Blackheads and Rough, bumpy texture - Azelaic acid and Salicylic acid (Beta Hydroxy Acid AKA BHA) 😍 Since the start of my skincare journey I had these two issues along with hyperpigmentation, a lot of dead skin and clogged pores! I look at these two as my 'Skin Reviving Ingredients' ☺️✨ They truly get rid of any skin texture you have and will give you that glass skin! Also anybody who has blackheads or excessive oily skin that cause clogged pores, sebaceous filaments you should use this powerful combination of Ingredients. Both Azelaic acid and Salicylic acid do different things but they on one ground take care of skin texture, clogged pores and oily skin. I find the combination of these two quite gentle and not so irritating. But when incorporating these two together you always should take a patch test. I use @naturium Azelaic topical acid 10% NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% and @naturium BHA liquid exfoliant 2% NATURIUM - BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% I really like these two, they both have a great formula. BHA is that slippery liquid, a water toner which doesn't make your skin oily. Azelaic acid is a clear slightly thick consistency which is thin and gets absorbed in skin quickly. ✨HOW I USE THESE: I use both of these products in the morning. -After my shower, I prep my skin with @paulaschoice Pore reducing toner PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner - Then apply @naturium BHA liquid exfoliation NATURIUM - BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% - Then I layer @naturium Azelaic acid NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% - Apply moisturizer (Currently I'm using @herbivore Pink Cloud moisturizer) HERBIVORE - PINK CLOUD Rosewater Moisture Creme - Lastly Sunscreen. I use @tula Daily SPF 30 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 This routine has given me a really soft, smooth skin. It helps in keeping my blackheads at bay as well as these both (Azelaic acid + BHA) helps with my Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation / Dark spots! If you have any questions, ask me in the comments below 😊❤️✨ Happy Skincare!!

You need this daily sunscreen with no white cast
You need this daily sunscreen with no white cast
Get this Daily SPF if you want no-white cast and sticky feeling! Swipe left to see how it applies on my skin ✨😊 This is my daily Sunscreen I've been using for months now and I love it. I have a fair-medium complexion and I always struggle to find a good sunscreen with no white cast. Also I don't like a greasy, oily and heavy feeling of most of the sunscreens on the market. Plus, for my daily use and for most of the days when I'm home I don't use high end/ expensive sunscreens. This is 36$ but it lasted me quite a long time but if you use lot of sunscreen in a day this size may be a little small for you. I truly liked this Protect + Glow Daily sunscreen gel broad spectrum SPF 30 by @tulaskincare TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 A truly amazing Broad spectrum SPF. It's a mineral one without any white cast because of it's gel formula. It literally feels cooling on face when applied and leaves a that sheen and glow on the skin. It's great for people with Acne and hyperpigmentation or oily/combination skin types. I have used tubes of these and I still can't choose a different one for my daily use. What's more amazing about it? It's ingredients: - It's non comedogenic - Has ingredients: Probiotics: help lock in moisture & strengthen the skin barrier. - Pineapple & Papaya: help promote even skin tone. - Wild Butterfly Ginger Root: helps protect skin against blue light. I think I have found a perfect daily sunscreen for me. If you have skin like me or you struggle with white cast this is the one for you!

Tula Sunscreen Got That Glow ✨
Tula Sunscreen Got That Glow ✨
📍My skin: Combination usually leaning more on the dry side but oily T-zone esp in the summer 📍Texture: Thin gel? But kind of oily? Also kinda lumpy? But applies smooth & feels hydrating? Confusing to say the least. 📍Claims: “non-greasy, non-comedogenic, protects from blue light & pollution, leaves a gorgeous glow, smells delicious, reef safe & cruelty free” 📍Main Ingredients: probiotics, pineapple & papaya (even skin tone), wild butterfly ginger root (blue light protection) 📍Dollas: $36 for 1.7oz Big sunscreen girl over here & slowly working my way through all the hyped ones to find my favorite. I specifically like sunscreen that isn’t oily, doesn’t feel like it’s just sitting on my skin & doesn’t have that OG sunscreen smell because migraines 👎🏻. Long story short: I love the glow & hydration from this #TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30[products]#[FourStars] but I just hate the smell and it feels like sunscreen (you know what i mean, that weird oiliness) which I don’t like for everyday wear but don’t hate enough to not use up the bottle. Also, only SPF 30 and I prefer SPF 50 for my face since I use a lot of actives, I’m fair skinned & spend lots of my time outdoors. Never experienced any pilling & love the fresh bright glow under makeup or for makeup free days. I haven’t had any issues with breakouts & I love Tula as a brand for being cruelty free!
