My CeraVe Knowledge 🌾
👩🏾🔬 Fun fact: CeraVe's dermatologists developed in 2005 a line of skincare products enriched with a blend of 3 essential ceramides (ceramides 1, 3, and 6-II) 💲the company started selling products in 2006. At first, there were only 3: 1 moisturizing cream 1 moisturizing lotion and 1 hydrating cleanser. ☝🏾 CeraVe = products that combined Ceramides and multiVesicular Emulsion technology. 🏵 here are a few benefits of ceramides: they help create a barrier to prevent permeability they help lock moisture into your skin, which helps prevent dryness and irritation, so that your skin stays soft they may have anti-aging effects 💁🏾♀️ know that CeraVe doesn't treat underlying skin conditions. they are a brand that offer skincare products without a prescription. 📈 so if your condition worthen with time, please go see a dermatologist asap to get a proper check up. 😚 I started using CeraVe a year ago and tried 3 products: a facial sunscreen CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 a SA cleanser CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser a moisturizing lotion CeraVe - SA Lotion For Rough & Bumpy Skin 2 of them are in my current skincare routine! 🤭 what's your favorite CeraVe product? #CheriePartner

Products I don’t like that caused me breakouts: CeraVe - SA Lotion For Rough & Bumpy Skin CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin PALMER'S - Cocoa Butter Formula Original Solid Formula (I can’t even rate this product I hate it) I didn’t really understand skin care back then (not saying I know everything about skin care now, but I know more now then I did a few months ago) so I was just using products from youtubers who recommend it. I was not trying to figure out my skin type and what I was trying to target, I was just using it for the sake of skincare. Now I’ll tell you why I don’t like these products personally, the Cerave over dried my skin (I already have dry skin) it just stripped my face of any natural oils. I don’t completely blame the products because i think I was also being too careless, like I would use it everyday and top it off with the Cerave moisturizer. My skin did not like this at all, I was also using cooking ingredients on my face like olive oil and coconut oil. The cocoa butter was just not it for me, and I thought I could never use oils on my face again but then I met OLIVIA CARE Bath & Beauty - Rosehip Oil Face Serum This was a game changer and I recently started using it and I love it❤️ Other products I used: Curology - Curology formula Curology - The Moisturizer were:Curology - The Cleanser The reason I have stopped using curology is because it’s a little too expensive, every month I was paying $59 (for two months). The products worked great for the short amount of time I was using them but I also didn’t want my skin to depend on it. I still use the cleanser and the moisturizer but not the prescription medicine. Products I love ❤️: OLIVIA CARE Bath & Beauty - Rosehip Oil Face Serum AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay Incredible BY NATURE - African Black Soap Curology - The Cleanser L'ORÉAL - Active Daily Moisture Face Lotion with SPF 15 JĀSON - JĀSON Tea Tree Oil I alternate between the curoloy cleanser and the black soap because the black soap can be little too stripping if you use it every day, and the curoloy a gentle cleanser. Thank you if you made it this far 😘

Is my face oily or dehydrated? Let’s talk!
So lately I’ve been looking at my skin and thinking “huh. Why am i so oily?”. I normally have a very oily t-zone and I also have quite large pores on my nose and cheeks. But this time, I felt more oily than normal. I have a pretty solid skincare routine so it was very alarming. I immediately panicked and was like “WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME”. So I took a look at my products (which I will do a post soon on my skincare routines for AM and PM) and thought maybe I should switch it up. I went down to the drugstore and picked up the Cerave SA lotion just to see what would happen. After using this, I’ve begun to question my entire routine! CeraVe - SA Lotion For Rough & Bumpy Skin First, let me talk about this product! This lotion has salicylic acid in it as well as ceramides and vitamin D. Now from what I am aware of, this is not necessarily a facial moisturizer but I have seen many people use it as one. So here’s my thoughts: Positives holy hydration! My skin feels so freaking hydrated and smooth and just luscious! I really thought my skin was getting the proper hydration, but this proved me wrong THE GLOW. Now i know this goes along with hydration, but the beautiful glow my skin has needed it’s own bullet point here. My skin looks as amazing as it feels Salicylic acid means it’s also giving you some treatment for bumpy skin and improves texture, which I definitely have noticed! My pores react very well to SA and they look less clogged! A little bit goes a long way on the face! I use the tiniest amount, like maybe the size of a pea, and it covers my entire face and neck. So overall, that means less money being spent because I won’t need to buy it as often Negatives You definitely need to work the product in really well otherwise you will feel greasy. It takes me a few minutes to make sure the product gets absorbed properly into my skin, but i feel like that may be because it’s not a “legitimate” facial moisturizer and actually a lotion Overall Thoughts: So this is where my original question comes in. Is my skin actually oily or just dehydrated? This product has told me yes and no. Is my forehead still actually oily? Yes BUT the rest of my face was definitely dehydrated. I haven’t felt my face be this hydrated in who knows how long and I had no idea that what I actually thought hydrated my skin was really not. My nose and cheeks definitely are not producing as much oil and my pores have not looked as clogged lately. I really think this product is doing amazing things for my skin and I’m going to continue using it, just make sure I’m not using as much on my forehead so the greasiness doesn’t make me look super shiny there. And maybe it’s time for me to branch out and explore other products but for now, I’ll stick to just one change! As always, remember to patch test your products and just because a product doesn’t work for someone else, doesn’t mean it won’t work for you! Hope you enjoyed this post/review! ~Kristina

TWO WEEK SKIN TRANSFORMATION!!
This whole year I’ve been struggling with persistent acne again and I’m not sure what had caused it. I didn’t have much of a routine until now and just look at the difference! I’m actually amazed and so happy with how fast the results were! Thanks to this app I have found out what products to actually stay away from and which ones work best for me. Before, I was using the clean and clear acne set which included the cleanser, spot-treatment, and moisturizer, but I used that for months and months without any good results. The spot-treatment would help with redness overnight but that’s about all I noticed. Now that I’ve looked more into skincare and figured out what would be best for my skin type (combination skin) and acne, my skin is so much better as you can see, and in just a short amount of time! Here’s the products that have helped me achieve these results. CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin I’ve been using this every morning and night, and have found it to be much less irritating and drying than the clean and clear cleanser I was initially using. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I put this on after cleansing my face morning and night and I’m in love with the results! Definitely lives up to the hype. CeraVe - SA Lotion For Rough & Bumpy Skin The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I’ve also been using this exfoliating solution out twice a week and it works amazing! (Although, I wouldn’t recommend if you have very sensitive skin) I hope this post gives hope to others who have been struggling with acne recently, I know how much it sucks to have acne in the summer. I’ve been trying to hide it with tons of makeup and have turned down going to the beach so many times in fear my makeup would wash off... If you think these products will work for you then give them a try! If you’re not seeing results with your current routine then don’t be afraid to try something new. I’m very glad I decided to make a switch, I was scared how my skin would react at first, but I’m so happy that in the end I stuck with my decision.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
