At home dermaplaning
At home dermaplaning
I’ve been doing a lot of research on at home dermaplaning because it’s something I’ve wanted to try but needed all the information first. What is dermaplaning? Dermaplaning is a skin treatment that uses an exfoliating blade to skim dead skin cells and hair from your face. It's also called microplaning or blading. Dermaplaning aims to make your skin's surface smooth, youthful, and radiant. ... It's also used to remove “peach fuzz,” the short, soft hairs on your face. Estheticians may do this as part of a facial or as it’s own service. But, with the proper tools and some patience, you can do this treatment at home. While looking for information on dermaplaning, I found that it could be done on a dry face or with facial oil. I was a title nervous to try it with oil for the first time, what if I slipped?! So dry skin it was for my first attempt. I sprayed my face with HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray and wiped it with a cotton round to remove excess oils. Then, once my skin was dry I started dermaplaning on my cheeks. Using light downward strokes, avoiding my sideburns. After my cheeks, I moved to my forehead. I was surprised how much flaky skin was being removed from that area!! Once the broad areas were complete, I moved to my jaw line, around my mouth, and finally around my nose. My skin is most sensitive in this area, so I think next time I’ll avoid it all together. It was a fairly quick process. I went slow as to not nick my skin. A light hand is key. And don’t go over the same area again and again, as it can lead to irritation. When I was finished, I rinsed my face with warm water and immediately applied The Ordinary - Matrixyl* 10% + HA as it is a humectant and I also used The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% along with a generous amount of The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane once all of that had soak in thoroughly, I lathered on my SPF for the day. Be cautious about applying any acids the first day as they may irritate your skin. But let me tell you, my makeup looked fantastic all day long. I had way less breaking up around my nose and mouth than I normally encounter. The foundation laid so smoothly and lasted much longer. I’m very happy with the end result. When I attempt dermaplaning again in a few weeks, I’m going to try it using oil and I’ll let everyone know how it goes! *I’m not a professional esthetician or make up artist. This is just my personal experience and I am in no way encouraging others to try this or any other procedures at home*

thanks to all lovely beauties out there to take their time and add a comment on my last post. I was devastated by breakout, i was having from last 2-3 weeks and nothing seems to be working. Well i guess too many exfoliants was making my skin too sensitive so now i am back to basics. I have started what i was doing in the beginning and that seems to be working just fine. I think i was selfish to have a great skin in no time 🥴. If someone is just curious what i am doing right now then lets go to products. AM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control it has tree oil which is good for acne prone skin The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ as i have sensitive and oily skin this makes my face matte and oil free. I really like this one for oily skin or combination skin PM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (only on spots and acne 2-3 times a week) The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA (once a week) The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (once a week) The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque (once a week) The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane tea tree oil only on spots Even if i have listed so many items i feel i have very basic skin care routine as most of the products are being used weekly or only 2-3 times a week. But in the end this routine is working out for me and i am seeing good progress which makes me happy. Again thanks to all who suggested me before ❤️❤️

My Favourite Hair Oil for Colour Treated Hair
My Favourite Hair Oil for Colour Treated Hair
Happy Self-Care Sunday 😊 I had my hair lightened 👱🏽‍♀️ last month because it’s spring here in Australia 🇦🇺 and let’s face it we all like to get out and about during the hotter parts of the year and maintain that sun kissed look. 😉 I started using JOICO - K-Pak Color Therapy Luster Lock Glossing Oil after every wash because I bleached my hair in October and damaged it. I was using The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane as a hair oil but it made my hair oily. It’s a much better eye moisturiser. 😉 I use the JOICO - K-Pak Color Therapy Luster Lock Glossing Oil on damp hair after every wash. So, every second day. I thought my colour would fade considerably because of how frequently I’ve been washing my hair. I usually wash my hair every 4 days. But my #nofilter photo shows my hair after 4 weeks.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I admit 🙋🏽‍♀️ I shampooed and conditioned 🧖🏽‍♀️ with: 🧚‍♀️ JOICO - K-Pak Color Therapy Color-Protecting Shampoo and 🧚‍♀️ JOICO - K-Pak Color Therapy Color-Protecting Conditioner 🧚‍♀️ Blow dried my hair and used a curling iron to highlight the colour. But considering it’s been four weeks since I had my dark brown hair lightened, I think my colours holding and looks pretty good. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Would love to know what you think? Comment yes 👍 or No 👎 below 😉 Have a great day! Jade 😊

Popular ingredient... Squalane!

Did you know Squalane is a hydrogenated version of Squalene? PRODUCT: @deciem This 100% plant-derived hemi-squalane is a lightweight oil that is meant to improve the skins elasticity and suppleness. It can also be used on hair to control frizz and due to its low molecular weight, it shouldn’t leave hair oily or greasy. MY THOUGHTS: I’ve been using this on my face and hands for under a year and even though I don’t find it necessary, I personally keep repurchasing it because I love mixing it with my moisturizers or thicker oils. The best part about this product is that it has literally no weight and no scent. It feels like water on my skin, which is why I don’t mind it. Even though I haven’t noticed a significant difference yet, my skin does feel more hydrated (both on my face and hands). I also put a few drops in my palms, rub them together, and brush my fingers through my hair. It really helps with frizz and doesn’t leave my hair feeling or looking oily. SIDE NOTE: 🌱🐰♻️This product is vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and comes in recyclable packaging.

Start with making sure your face is prepped and clean and moisturized! I start with Simple - Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water Then I use The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 make sure your face is damp when applying so it’ll retain the moisture!
