Updated skin progress!
Updated skin progress!
Hi all :) If you’ve been following me, you know I started a brand new routine (all K-Beauty products) at the beginning of December after suffering a horrible reaction from my previous routine that included painful cystic breakouts, chemical burns, etc. as seen on the side of my cheek. That has stayed put since about mid November 😬 I am slowly but surely getting to the point where they are starting to fade. I still have days where that area gets inflamed, whether that’s from the friction of wearing my mask for a full day, sleeping on my side, or even enduring a recent cat scratch straight to the face and through my already painful acne. Anyways, it has been about a full month of this new routine, so I thought i’d write my thoughts on these products! My overall goal with my skin is to firstly, get rid of the acne scarring on the side of my cheek, but also to achieve “dewy” skin. I also have massive pores that have always been hard to reduce, but as I’ve learned recently, a lot of that is simply natural and I’m just going to have to learn to accept that 😌 ✨PRODUCT REVIEW✨ 1. Hanskin - Pore Cleansing Oil PHA Being my first Oil cleanser, I guess it’s hard to compare to any other product, however, I have fallen in LOVE with it! It’s perfect for my clogged pores and the way it melts into my skin feels so luxurious and prepares my skin so well for my foaming cleanser + the rest of my routine! *I use this in BOTH the AM and PM, but in the AM i only use it on my nose, where I am the most oily in the morning. 2. acwell - No 5.5 Ph Balancing Micro Cleansing Foam This is a super gentle cleanser that foams up so nice and quickly and always gets the remaining gunk off my face after the oil cleanser! My face never feels too dry or tight after, either! Which is a major win for me as all my psst cleansers have done so. *I use in both the AM and PM! 3. d’Alba Peptide No-Sebum Balancing Toner (not listed on Cherie) I always swear by a toner, although many disagree. But I feel if you have a toner set for a specific purpose, such as reducing sebum and unclogging pores, then there’s no harm in using one in moderation! I have seen an such amazing difference in my pores with this toner. Although I still have large pores that can’t be helped, this definitely aids in reducing them temporarily and unclogging! 4. - AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Serum This serum has been a lifesaver for helping with the dryness of my skin, as well as healing my dark spots. I used to get a new pimple maybe like every other day or so, but since using this product, I’ve not experienced a new breakout besides one pesky chin pimple from being on my period, which I’m used to 🙄 *Use 3 times a week only in the PM 5. On the Bright Side Moisturizer by Good Skin Days (not listed on Cherie) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is the only product i will NOT be repurchasing. Although I haven’t experienced any negatives, it just doesn’t hydrate well:(

hello lovelies! i have “recently” got a skincare routine recommended by a soko glam representative! soko glam is a site to shop for some of your korean skincare favs! i decided to go with korean skincare for more hydrated and ✨honey-like✨ skin. i decided to share with you the routine i was given and some extra goodies i added to the routine. forewarning: i’m not a skincare guru, i just go by how my skin feels and looks! so, don’t be shy to critique this routine. i love criticism! my skin: acne-prone, dry, dull ✨THE ROUTINE✨ cleansers! Hanskin - Pore Cleansing Oil PHA they recommended a double cleanse! my first time using this method. the oil cleanser has a light citrus smell and doesn’t leave my skin stripped. i like it a lot! acwell - No 5.5 Ph Balancing Micro Cleansing Foam this is the foam cleanser. it doesn’t have a smell, it is kind of soapy but i don’t mind. it tingled at first when i first used it but not anymore! and it also leaves my skin feeling clean but not stripped. toner! acwell - Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner this toner has a mild scent, it doesn’t bother me. i don’t know what toners really do but it makes my skin feel squeaky clean! serum! #Good (Skin) Days - C’s The Day Serum[products]#[FourStars] i mix this serum with my moisturizer. i add a couple of drops. it doesn’t have a smell at all. i use it once a day at night! it seems to helping with my acne scars. a little sticky tho. moisturizer! SKINRx LAB - MadeCera Re-turn Cream i live for this moisturizer! it makes my dry skin feel very plump and hydrated! i never feel like i have to reapply it. i use it morning and night. ✨EXTRAS✨ esscence! NEOGENLAB - Real Rerment Micro Essence i use this after my toner! i bought it because if paired with the toner, it can help with achieving “honey skin”. it feels good, and once again helps my skin feel clean! clay mask! . ISNtree - Real Mugwort Clay Mask i use this once a week. it’s cooling, feels good. and i think it is also for exfoliating? but it feels good the red patches of my cheeks. sunscreen! BLACK GIRL SUNSCREEN - Black Girl Sunscreen SPF 30 i like this sunscreen. it doesn’t give me a white cast but it can feel a little greasy instead of the dewy look i go for. if you have any recommendations, for some sunscreen a little more matte - i would love to hear it! so that’s what i got. as i use these products consistently, i hope to see more results! i’ll post some before and “progression” pictures later! thank you for reading! 💓

A routine that FINALLY works for me!
A routine that FINALLY works for me!
Since the beginning of quarantine, I’ve gotten WAY into skincare, maybe a little too much... I’ve definitely experienced ups and downs with my routine, low bank balances, and the overall stress of trying to balance the millions of options and recommendations given for serums, cleansers, toners, ETC. Through many trial and errors, I think I finally found my true routine, thanks to Sokoglam, a K-Beauty skincare company. They offer a free “skin concierge” session in real time with a skincare specialist, where you can ask about your skin concerns and receive great recommendations for products, and overall a personalized skincare routine that fits YOU! That all sounds cheesy and sponsored but I promise it’s not😂 That’s just how impressed I am with the company! For so long I just watched youtubers suggest products to me and I scrolled endlessly on Cherie looking for products that I thought would suit me. A biiiig brand I saw/and was recommended CONSTANTY was The Ordinary serums... Long story short, tried it, hated it. Plain and simple. The few serums I used from them caused nothing but turmoil for my skin that I’m still trying to fix including breakouts, CYSTIC acne, chemical burns, etc.. I am pretty sure there was just something my sensitive skin was allergic to in order for all of that to have happened, but still, simply just not for me. To be fair, if it weren’t for those products, I would have never gone out of my way to seek a new routine, sooooo? Thanks I guess lol. Anyways, here is my road to recovery! I have been documenting my skin’s journey and I can already see such dramatic effects in texture, hydration, reduction of oiliness AND the beginnings of healing for my more intense acne that left scars! I won’t go into detail on each product quiet yet, as it is still a new routine taking its course, however, I think the biggest component to the already huge changes has to definitely be the Hanskin - Pore Cleansing Oil PHA !!!! As a combo/oily skin type who rarely wears makeup, I NEVER would have thought I’d need this product because like... More oil??! But I was sooooo mislead!!! My pores have never been cleaner/smaller after using this, because after all, oil gets rid of oil! For so long I was always so frustrated with how bad of a job my water based cleansers were doing, never truly cleaning my horribly clogged pores! I guess I just forgot basic chemistry knowledge that water alone cannot get rid of oil! Plain and simple! I’m sure most people know that, but I guess my quarantine brain didn’t make that connection, but also when it comes to skincare, I guess I never truly thought of those things in the past! I will keep updating my journey as I go, but enjoy for now!
