2021 Fashion Week Inspired Makeup - Hermès
2021 Fashion Week Inspired Makeup - Hermès
This look is inspired by models for Hermes for 2021 spring/summer fashion week. This look focuses on super dewy skin and a bold, red lip as the center of attention. This look was really easy to recreate and something I would actually rock IRL (except for the lack of mascara because mascara is bae). I’ve included the inspo photo from Allure. To add a glowy base to my complexion, I used Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid . I only ever use 1 pump of this oil-serum hybrid because I think any more makes me look like a grease ball. I applied this all over my face and dabbed a tiny amount onto my eyelids. This product is perfect for applying on bare skin, under makeup, and can even be used over makeup for a natural, wet-looking highlight. After I applied my complexion products, I dabbed a tiny amount onto the high points of my cheekbones. Sticking with the dewy theme, I used the ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 in “balos”. I’m not sure if the models were wearing complexion products because their skin looked super natural, yet also “flawless”. Since I have some redness on my cheeks, I used this skin tint to even out my skin tone and amp up the dew. I lightly concealed underneath my eyes with the e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer in “light peach”. The models don’t appear to be wearing any cheek products, though I did add a tiny bit of AOA studio - Sculpt FX Contour in “fawn” to help sculpt my cheeks a tiny bit like the models. I finished the look off with the SEPHORA COLLECTION - Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in “always red”. I’ve had a mini of this for quite a while. It’s beautiful, comfortable despite being matte, does leave a tint behind, and is long-wearing. This is the kind of lipstick that would last from the runway well into the after party (in non-COVID times, of course). The models don’t appear to be wearing any mascara, so I skipped that. I filled in my brows a bit more than usual for a fuller appearance. I used the essence - Superlast Eyebrow Pomade Pencil in “dark brown”. Such a fun look! You guys it’s sooo hard not to smile. How do models do it?! 🤪 Look for another fashion week look soon. All brands are cruelty-free except for Sephora Collection. Prices: futuredew $24, skin tint $46, concealer $6, contour stick $1, lip stain (full size) $15, brow pencil $3.50 #Cherie Partner

Had a friend do my makeup & she bombed this look ! I loved it so much I had to buy the palette. It had good pigmentation for me & minimum product fall out. Especially black is a tough one! Not only did I like this palette but I’m very particular with my foundation, I always have my own foundation to bring which I opted for ilia tinted spf. I love this foundation line ! I’ve had it for a year & always repurchase it. It’s non comedogenic (non pore clogging, great for combination skin) & covers up very nicely. How do you like this sultry look? What is my look giving you?

Let’s Debunk Some Skincare Myths
Let’s Debunk Some Skincare Myths
To say there’s a plethora of beauty information out there would be an understatement. It can be difficult to determine what are good tips and what are myths, especially if there’s conflicting information. Let’s debunk 3 common ones that I still hear/see around the web/beauty community. If your makeup contains SPF you don’t need SPF underneath. Why is this myth incorrect? You would need to apply a lot of foundation, tinted moisturizer, or BB/CC cream to get the proper amount of SPF needed to protect your skin. For example, I have the ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 with SPF 40. I only apply about the size of a dime for my whole face, and this product only provides sheer-light coverage. I would need multiple layers of this to protect my skin from UVA/UVB. You should apply SPF underneath your makeup (at least the size of a quarter!) to ensure adequate protection. I love the Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 because it’s good for all skin types, doubles as a makeup primer, reef-safe, and is cruelty-free. Face wipes clean your face as well as cleanser. Nope! Face wipes may seemingly remove all your makeup and SPF residue, but they don’t have the ability to properly cleanse your face. I don’t usually use face wipes, but I received these RAWGANIC - Pure Refreshing Facial Wipes for Christmas from a family member. I use them to remove makeup before heading to the gym or at the end of the day. If using at the end of the day, always follow up with cleanser to remove excess residue!!! Face wipes would be a good option in the AM if you have extra dry skin and want to feel clean without having to wash. Don’t mix vitamin C and niacinamide. Why is this a myth? It was believed that combining anything with vitamin C, especially niacinamide, would negate the effects of vitamin C. Vitamin C is awesome for brightening and fading dark spots, and niacinamide is great for enlarged pores, dull skin, and acne scarring. Combining these two powerhouse ingredients, such as in the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner , is a match made! That toner makes such a difference in my skin’s appearance (pores, dullness, scarring). Don’t want to combine but still reap the benefits? Use vitamin C in the AM (such as THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Brightening Cream ) and niacinamide in the PM (such as PURITO - Centella Unscented Serum which contains niacinamide). You can have your cake and eat it, too! I personally will use these serums (or other ones in my collection) one right after another, but everyone’s skin is different. About me: DRYYYYYY acne-prone skin

Ever since I was a pre-teen, my mom stressed the importance of sunscreen and protecting my skin from sun damage. Luckily I listened to my mom and started wearing sunscreen every. single. day. starting at 13. At almost a decade later, I must say that visibly there aren’t many changes or differences in my skin from when I was younger besides the normal aging of skin like pore size and acne breakouts. Although, I have seen a difference in my skin compared to some friends who don’t wear sunscreen on a daily basis. There are many factors that can effect your skin but sun protection is a main one that can be easily avoided to prevent premature wrinkles, sun spots, hyperpigmentation, etc. Sunscreen is a huuuge interest of mine so here are four super different formulas to compare! SKINCEUTICALS - Physical Fusion Uv Defense SPF 50 SPF Type: Physical Key ingredients: Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide This one almost feels like a dry oil. It has that super emollient and runny texture that blends into the skin easily. It looks tinted when it first comes out of the bottle but it doesn’t offer any coverage when applied. I love this one especially when my skin is feeling a little lack luster because it does leave behind a glow! ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 SPF Type: Physical Key ingredients: Non-nano Zinc Oxide, Squalane, Niacinamide & Hyaluronic Acid This is what I would call a tinted moisturizer with SPF. I wouldn’t use this on its own to protect my skin because with products that offer coverage, it’s hard to know how much product is actually SPF 40. We tend to apply only as much product as you need the coverage. This is a great topper for sunscreen though- a step to add a tint to the skin plus additional sun protection. The texture is super lightweight and runny (more like a thin serum). BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Mineral SPF 45 (old formulation) SPF Type: Physical Key ingredients: Squalane, Titanium Dioxide & Zinc Oxide This sunscreen is a much thicker consistency than the above two. It goes on like a classic “sunscreen lotion” and definitely leaves behind a white cast (even on my skin tone which is pretty light!). If you can get past the white cast, it’s an amazing physical sunscreen that offers great protection. The white cast just makes my skin look ashy and grey, which if I’m wearing a full face of foundation is fine, but because I rarely wear foundation I don’t prefer it. Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 SPF Type: Chemical This is a clear dimethicone-feeling cream that reminds me of a smoothing primer. It helps to blur out pores and texture and leaves the skin looking soft-matte. It’s probably the driest feeling on the skin compared to the above sunscreens but is a great option for everyday. I usually prefer physical SPFs to chemical, but this is the best chemical one I’ve tried!

ILIA has become one of my favorite beauty brands over the past year due to their gorgeous products, clean beauty stance, and amazing formulations. I’m wearing nearly a full face from them minus the brows (benefit gimme brow) and bronzer (milk baked, but they just came out with their own). - Super Serum Skin Tint: 8/10 This skin tint contains spf 40, niacinimide, squalane, and hyaluronic acid so its a three in one product perfect for busy mornings. I find it to be long wearing about 8 or 9 hours of wear, which is pretty high for a skin tint. This gives the skin such a glowy, hydrated look. - Color Haze Pigment in Stutter: 9/10 Used here as a blush these also look gorgeous on the lips. Stutter is my favorite of all the pigment shades, it is a deep burnt orange that is very rare to find. The pigment itself is probably the thickest cream blush I’ve ever used but that just means you need the smallest amount, a little goes a long way. - Liquid Light Serum Highlighter: 6/10 This product can be a kind of hit or miss with me, sometimes it looks so gorgeous and natural and other times it accentuates the texture of my skin so badly. My favorite ways to use this is either mixed in with a base or under the super serum skin tint. These methods of application allow the highlighter to appear more skin like and dewy. - Limitless Lash Mascara: 10/10 My favorite mascara ever! This gives amazing length, doesn’t get clumpy, adds volume, and last for hours. This is truly the best mascara I’ve tried by far. This is my go-to skin routine on mornings when I wake up to “blah” skin; maybe I have a few breakouts, skin’s looking a bit dull, or I just need a “feel-good” routine to make me feel better about my skin. Background info: I have combination skin that is sometimes dehydrated. My skin is also very tolerant of active ingredients. THE inkey LIST - Beta Hydroxy Acid This BHA from TheInkeyList has 2% Salicylic Acid which really helps to exfoliate the skin and unclog pores (which then reduces blemishes!) It also has Zinc (to control oil production) and Hyaluronic Acid (to hydrate and plump skin)! I apply it by putting two drops on my palms and pressing it into the skin. ALPHA-H - Vitamin B Serum With Niacinamide This is a cocktail of amazing ingredients like Niacinamide to improve skin texture, Copper peptides to rejuvenate skin cells and boost collagen and elastin production, and Chia Seeds which are rich in Omega-3, fatty acids and antioxidants to plump and hydrate skin. I also apply a few drops to my palm and press into my skin. SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum My favorite Vitamin C/antioxidant serum! It brightens the skin, and boosts the performance of my sunscreen so I make sure to incorporate it into my routine every morning! This formula also includes L-ascorbic acid which is a rich antioxidant ingredient that neutralizes free radicals and protects against oxidative stressors, and Ferulic Acid which has similar benefits, enhances antioxidants and stabilizes the Vitamins C & E. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi To lock in all the active ingredients in my toners and serums, I love this cream from Youth To The People because it feels thick and nourishing. The key ingredients in this cream include Squalane, Ashwagandha, and Fermented Reishi which together helps boost skin hydration, minimizes risk of clogged pores, reduces visible signs of fatigue and detoxifies and combats signs of aging. ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 This is my secret weapon when it comes to bad skin days. This lightweight serum can be applied on its own or as the last step in your skincare routine! It’s lightweight, tinted and evens out skintone. This also contains Squalane, Zinc Oxide (a physical sunscreen), Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide (all the ingredients I love!). It offers great sunscreen coverage, just make sure to apply enough or as I sometimes like to add this on top of my regular sunscreen for extra protection and a skin tint! I work really quickly with this product to prevent pilling so I use half a dropper of this product, rub quickly between my palms and apply to the face. This routine gives me a GLOW for when days I’m not looking my best!
