Ultra Matte Lip

COLOURPOP - Lux Velvet Liquid Lipstick Collection I currently own the colors Puddin’ (burnt red orange) and Room Service (warm terra-cotta) and I’m loving them both as wearable everyday lip colors for warm undertones! The formula is mousse-y which I love, is not drying, feels like I’m wearing a balm when I press my lips together but doesn’t not transfer. The formula doesn’t last forever like a traditional liquid lip but stays on longer than other velvet lip formulas I’ve used. I am able to add many layers without any problems at all! COLOURPOP - Ultra Matte Lip I’ve heard great things about the blotted lip and the formula indeed creates an “ombré” look on the lip. The formula dries much quicker than the LUX and does not transfer. Unlike the Velvet LUX, it’s not as comfortable rubbing my lips together. I do love the color I got (sleepy eyes), as it is one of the few rose nudes that work well on my warm undertone! However, I am not loving the fact that if I add two layers for a bolder look, the formula will pill on top of each other and looks streaky. I’d say the blotted lip is more of a lip stain, serving as a one layer wonder. Cheers to 💄

COLOURPOP - Ultra Matte Lip If you haven’t tried these Ultra Blotted Lips before, you’ve got to! It’s such a unique product and formula- and they seriously stay on ALL DAY. You can see from the photo that only the color faded a little but it still left a faded stain on my lips. I didn’t eat anything particularly oily but of course I had lunch and coffee throughout the day so most of the product was off my lips in the end. The stain makes it look like it’s still on though! There are so many shades to choose from- the shade I tested was from a collab with Pony Makeup in Juicy Drop- from nudes, to brights, to reds! I have a few different shades in this formula that I love to use especially on days where I want a lip color and don’t feel like touching up. The only downside is that it’s slightly drying, so i highly recommend applying some lip balm beforehand (which I did for this longevity test)! Overall, I highly recommend this because it’s inexpensive, offers a wide variety of shades and such a unique formula. I haven’t tried anything else similar to it!

This is the second spring/summer 2021 fashion week inspired look I did. Make sure to check out my other Cherie post for my Hermès look. This look inspired by Chloé focuses on smoldering, smudged out black-rimmed eyes, dewy skin, and juicy nude lips. The eye look was particularly interesting to me because of the blank spaces in the center of the model’s lower and upper lids. The base of this look is the same as my Hermès look. I’ve included the inspo photo that I found on Allure. Complexion: Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid - this oil-serum hybrid is perfect for adding a glowy base on bare skin, under makeup, or over makeup on the high points of your face for a natural, yet wet-looking highlight. I used 1 pump all over my face under my skin tint, and a tiny bit dabbed on the tops of my cheek bones after my skin tint. $24 ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 “balos” - light coverage to even out my skin tone and also amp up the dew. $46 e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer “light peach” - I used 2 tiny dots under my eyes to add some coverage. $6 AOA studio - Sculpt FX Contour “fawn” - the model does not appear to be wearing any cheek products; however, has beautiful, defined cheekbones. I don’t have defined cheekbones, so I used this to give a slight contoured effect. $1 Now the fun part! I used URBAN DECAY - 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil “perversion” to lightly outline the inner and outer portions of my top and bottom lash lines. I smudged this out with a pencil brush. Then I used the shade “black” from my LORAC - PRO Matte Eye Shadow Palette to intensify the smokiness. I made sure to keep the space directly in the middle of my eyes blank on both upper and lower lash lines. I then drew a thick wing on the outer corner of each eye, topped with black shadow, and smudged inwards. I couldn’t tell if the model was wearing mascara, but I added 1 quick coat of URBAN DECAY - Lash Freak Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara to add an extra pop to my eyes. For lips, I lightly blotted COLOURPOP - Ultra Matte Lip “little one” (limited edition, no longer available) to add a hint of nude to my lips. Then I topped with the ICONIC - Lip Plumping Gloss in “nearly nude” . This gloss is super glossy and wet looking - perfect for ultra juicy-looking lips! This look was so fun to create. Unlike the Hermès look, this isn’t something I would personally wear day-to-day, but for Halloween or the runway it’s perfect! It’s so hard not to smile in photos 🤪 #CheriePartner

Today is ALL ABOUT LIPS! 💋 Ill be talking about my favorite lip liners, liquid lipsticks, tube lipsticks, and lip glosses. But before I go in, make sure you cheer this post! The love has been real lately and makeup and beauty are big passions of my life! Any cheer, save or follow makes my 2020 a little bit brighter! I hope y’all feel the same when you read my posts. ❤️ Enough of the sap, let’s get back to lips! 💋 Lip mask: Before I start my makeup, I always put a lip mask. The LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask is my favorite one to use. Once I finish my eye and face makeup, my lips are nice and hydrated and ready for my lip routine. Lip liners: After I wipe off my lip mask, I go in with a lip liner. My ride or die brands are MAC - MAC Lip Pencil and NYX - Slim Lip Pencil. I personally don’t like creamy lip liners like Colourpop’s. They tend to bleed and I don’t have as much control like I do with MAC and NYX. I LOVE TO OVERDRAW! Overdrawing my lips make my lips look fuller. But don’t over do it or else you’ll look like a 🤡 😂. Lipsticks: After I finish overdrawing my lips, I go into lipstick. There are many kinds of lipsticks. But the main two I use are liquid lipsticks and tube lipsticks. As of late, my favorite go to brands are MAC - MAC Matte Lipstickfor tube lipsticks FENTY BEAUTY - Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colorand COLOURPOP - Ultra Matte Lipfor liquid lipsticks. When I’m doing my makeup for work or when I go out, long lasting is my go to. Colourpop is very long lasting but can be uncomfortable if your lips are not hydrated. Fenty Beauty is very comfortable but not as long lasting. If I’m looking for just a little color but don’t need long lasting, MAC lipsticks are my go to. They are classic go to lipsticks with great color range and pigmentation. I’ve been using these since I could walk. These brands are reliable and perfect for anyone who uses lipsticks. Lip gloss: I wear gloss everyday. Honest to god! It makes my wfh makeup barren face look presentable. I love all kinds of gloss! Clear, shimmery, opaque! All of it! Lip gloss is what started my makeup addiction and my favorite part of my makeup routine. My favorite brands are FENTY BEAUTY - Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer, Glossier. - Glossier. Lip Gloss, and MAYBELLINE - Lifter Gloss With Hyaluronic Acid. Check out my battle of the glosses post for Fenty and Maybelline. The Glossier gloss is the perfect option for a 90s glossy pout.
