BEST Oils for Oily-Prone Skin – Yes, You Need Oil Too!
BEST Oils for Oily-Prone Skin – Yes, You Need Oil Too!
You may believe that your oil skin needs to be stripped of all oils. As someone that has always been shiny by noon, I understand the pain of feeling like a grease-ball. I did everything in my power to dry up patches of oil and keep it dry – only causing myself to break out more and more. What I didn’t know then is that oily skin still needs oils! In fact, if you strip your oily skin of their natural inclination for oil – It will only produce more oil, causing you to break out considerably worse or end up significantly oilier than you started.Yes, by stripping your skin of oils, you only make more oil on your skin.So the solution? Add healthy oils back onto your skin that won’t clog your pores.I was reluctant and prepared for a breakout when I tried Herbivores line of oils. To my surprise:·       My acne cleared up·       My skin had noticeable smaller pores in 1-2 days·       My skin was less oilyYou can see by the pictures that I have been going through these oils fast! I use them and I love them. The 4 products that I’m currently using from Herbivore Botanicals are as follows:·       Phoenix Oil – Like rising from the ashes, you will feel revitalizes with this morning glow serum that is perfect to apply first thing in the morning before makeup. This is a stunning blend of rose hip, omega fatty acids, and sea buckthorn oil to deeply nourish.Best for:o   Dry skino   Anti-agingo   Dull skino   Morning use ·       Lapis Oil – This product won Readers’ Choice Beauty Award for Best Natural Skin Care Product by Glamour in 2020. Using the flower that creates Blue Tansy oil, Lapis helps to balance combination skin and clear breakouts.Best for:o   Acne-Prone skino   Oily skino   Combination skino   Morning and night use ·       Emerald Oil – This product is made of CBD, Cannabis Extract, and Hemp oil to use nature’s powers for a noticeable glow. With over 70 attempts of this concoction created before they settled on the best formula I’ve ever tried; this is my go-to oil for calming redness and making my skin feel fresh.Best for:o   Dry skino   Redness and inflammationo   Acne-prone skino   Morning and night use ·       Bakuchiol Oil – Lastly in your routine, use this retinol-alternative soothing serum for anti-aging care before bed. Known to seal in hydration to the skin, this is a gentler alternative to retinol which doesn’t react well with many sensitive skin types.Best for:o   Fine lines and wrinkleso   Dry skino   Uneven textureo   Night useI hope these work for you and that this tip helps at least one oil-skinned person stop stripping their skin of all oils! Adding more will actually close up your pores, as counterintuitive as that seems.

HERBIVORE - Lapis Blue Tansy Face Oil For Oily & Acne-Prone Skin Herbivore Lapis is my BABY!!! It’s one of the first ever large oils I’ve purchased from Herbivore. Lapis is a hydrating face oil to balance skin while improving visible redness and blemishes. It’s a solution for acne, blemishes, redness, and pores. I love love love using this if I have some breakouts and redness around the areas, and honestly use this a lot during the cold winter when my skin can get chapped by the winter winds. * * * I’ve had the large bottle for a little over a year now and it lasts you quite a while for $72 since it’s not something you NEED to always use every day. At least not for my skin, anyways. I decided to try it because I had gotten a sample from a Sephora purchase and fell in love with the results, I needed to get the full size. It’s easy to use and I find it very effective. * * * It’s so effective because of the amazing ingredients. Blue Tansy which helps reduce redness and clarifies the complexion WITHOUT drying your skin. It contains natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial prosperities. There is plant-based squalane, which I know some skin types don’t react well to, but I find no issue using squalane. It’s a natural protective barrier to keep moisture in the skin, while PROTECTING from hyperpigmentation and premature aging. Kukui Nut Oil balances the sebum layer and oil production for those who have oilier skin types. This oil provides a high layer of hydration, as well as Jojoba oil. * * * This definitely gets 5/5 stars because I find it very hard to drop $72 on a skincare product, but when you know it’s a staple, then you know, you know? * * * Second pic is 5 drops applied in palm! As you can see it’s very very light weight and the color obviously isn’t a strong once it’s actually applied!

Face oil for acne - Herbivore Lapis Oil
Face oil for acne - Herbivore Lapis Oil
Face oils for acne - Herbivore Lapis Oil $72 Herbivore’s Lapis Oil is one of my absolute go-to oils when my skin is in need of some serious repair. This is one of the gentlest and most nourishing formulas I have tried in skincare, and I would recommend it to anyone with sensitive, acne prone, or redness prone skin. The formula is intended for normal to oily skin, because it works to hydrate the skin without clogging pores to reduce sebum production and maintain balance in the skin. Lapis is made up of plant oils that absorb quickly into the skin delivering moisture, vitamins, fatty acids, and antioxidants into the skin to form a natural lipid barrier that nourishes the skin while protecting it from dryness and heat in the environment. The best part about lapis is it proves that oils can be formulated for people with combo/oily skin types without having to worry about it clogging your pores, making you more oily, or breaking out. I have used lapis for about 2 years now, purchasing 2 bottles myself. This is a staple in my collection as I find I can always go back to it and know it will balance and hydrate my skin. I love using this oil when my moisture barrier is compromised, because it is so gentle and I know it will help bring my skin composition back to normal pH. I also love using this when my skin has a lot of texture/acne, since its acne fighting properties help to clear skin without the use of any harsh spot treatments or acids. With daily use, this oil really helps keep the skin looking clear, even, and hydrated. While this product is quite pricey at $72, its one of my biggest recommendations for combo/oily/acne prone skin. I have repurchased this twice and will continue to repurchase! HERBIVORE - Lapis Blue Tansy Face Oil For Oily & Acne-Prone Skin

HERBIVORE - Cloud Nine Favorites Collection We all know it’s nearly impossible to pass up a good sale! Sephora has one on now, and I figured it was the best time to treat myself to this set from Herbivore. I haven’t tried any of their products yet, but you guys seem to LOVE what they’re doing, so its about time! The lowdown on what’s inside: ✨ HERBIVORE - Pink Cloud Rosewater + Tremella Creamy Jelly Cleanser This cleanser is said to remove makeup and impurities while hydrating the skin. Using tremella mushroom, a moisture-retaining powerhouse, soothing rose, and pure squalane, this is meant to be a silky, luxurious cleanse that leaves you feeling clean, without stripping your skin. ✨ HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask This fan favourite mask is gentle on the skin, soothing redness and reducing the appearance of pores. It uses white willow bark (a natural BHA!), fruit enzymes, and blue tansy oil to reduce redness and inflamed acne. I can’t wait to see what the hype is about! ✨ HERBIVORE - Lapis Blue Tansy Face Oil For Oily & Acne-Prone Skin Another popular pick, once again including blue tansy, is this beautifully coloured face oil. Additionally, it uses kukui nut and jojoba oil to balance and hydrate, our MVP squalane, and jasmine sambac oil to boost elasticity. ✨ HERBIVORE - Prism 12% AHA + 3% BHA Exfoliating Glow Serum This chemical exfoliant is becoming more popular by the day! A mix of AHAs and BHAs, Prism uses naturally derived chemicals to gently resurface the skin, as well as rosewater to help soothe sensitive spots during the process. ✨ HERBIVORE - Coco Rose Body Polish A delectably-scented body scrub, Coco Rose is highly moisturizing and leaves the skin smelling like a floral, tropical oasis. This scrub has some pink clay mixed in to help detox the skin while you exfoliate and hydrate. After seeing so many of you talk about how in love you are with Herbivore, I’m seriously excited to use these products. The kit was packaged beautifully and really made me feel like I was gifting myself something so luxurious. 💅🏻 Stay tuned to see my in-depth reviews on each of these products! 📝
