Liquid Shadows - The Easiest Look Evvvaaaa
I’m a big fan of shimmery liquid shadows because they’re easy to apply and look like you put in way more effort into your eye look than you actually did. Liquid shadows all feature some sort of doe foot applicator that you can apply directly to your lid, finger, or brush. Tap out with your finger for more color or a brush for a more soft, diffused effect. Adding a second layer will also intensity the color. Heck, you could even layer different colors for a custom color! These are some of my favorites in my collection. Most are higher end and mid-range, but you can sometimes get these on sale and I also encourage you to try drugstore formulas like Wet n Wild and ELF. My favorite way to wear these is on their own, but you can also add some powder shadow into your crease and/or outer corner depending on the look you’re going for. Swipe for swatches and looks wearing 3 of these over the last few days! Top to bottom: Kosas - 10-Second Eyeshadow in the shadows “globe” (chestnut) and “supreme” (deep gold)- love the lightweight, buildable but easy to sheer formula, but color range is limited and these are definitely a splurge item at $27 each. “Globe” was sent to me by the brand, “supreme” purchased by me. Colourpop x Zoella supernova shadow in “bellini”. I somehow missed that Colourpop no longer sells these shadows?!?! Sorry about that.. This was part of a creator collection with Zoella. The formula is super easy to work with and reflective (see eye look). These used to retail for $8 or $9. Bummer they’re not available anymore... You may be able to find on EBay, Poshmark, Mercari, etc. COVER FX - Shimmer Veil in the shade “amethyst”. I have 4 of these shimmer veils. This color is my favorite. It’s a soft purple that compliments my brown eyes and offers shimmer without being gaudy. The formula is nice, but not consistent across all colors. I have a very pale pink that cracks and makes my eyelids look 80 years old, but this color and the other 2 (not featured) don’t do that. These are not worth $28 each. Get on sale or look for a minis set. Glossier. - Lidstar Glistening Eye Glow in the shades “cub” (rose gold) and “fawn” (taupe purple). Glossier has a deal where you can purchase 2 for $30, which was okay by me. Both colors are stunning and can be sheered out or built up. You don’t need a primer - they last all day on their own. The shade range is limited, so I hope thar Glossier expands in the future. stila - Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in “starlight”. I LOVE this formula. It’s worth the money in my opinion, and especially awesome if you can find at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s for 1/2 price like I did. I have purchased other shades at full price ($24) and used them up! My true faves are “cloud” and “grace” but I haven’t replaced them yet. I much prefer this formula vs the glitter formula because those required glitter glue and dried out super quick. What’s your fave?
Mask for minimizing pores
We all know about Jet Lag Mask from Summer Fridays, i like it a lot, but there is another products that I LOVE THE MOST is the Over Time Mask. SUMMER FRIDAYS - Overtime Mask Over Time Mask is a clarifying mask that packed with vitamin A, C, and K. It also packed with pumpkin exfoliates that help to smooth out skin texture with minimizing pores. It also contains apricot seed powder and oat kernel protein which can helps to sweep out dead skins and leave skin soft and moisture. This mask is paraben-free, sulfate-free, cruelty-free with no synthetic dyes or fragrance, which also helps brighten up your skin in a cleaner and more natural way. I enjoy the most if the natural pumpkin + oat scent, it just feels like fall. And I can feel my skin gentle and smooth. It is the perfect rube for dull and congested skin. I like to follow up with the jet lag mask after this for the next level glow SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask #cheriepartner
Kosas - 10-Second Eyeshadow Kosas 10-second eyeshadow in shade Globe. A crease-resistant, fast drying and easy product. It’s water-based and buildable! It also has skincare ingredients!! Meaning ingredients good for your skin. Ingredients are working on your skin while you’re having this on. Obsessed with these eyeshadows. I’m going to buy more of these! They truly dry down in under 10 seconds and they are blendable too! It makes such a quick and effortless makeup look and it truly saves time in the morning. Just swipe this once or twice across your lid and you’re done. It’s also handy to just have in your bag whenever you need to refresh or bring with you if you’re going somewhere after work or forgot to put it on at home. Instead of bringing a whole palette, you bring this! I love the idea of this 10 second liquid eyeshadow and I’m definitely going to be a fan for a while. Recommend this for everyone. I mean the shades are beautiful 😭 I want them to release more though.

Liquid vs. Powder | Kosas and Natasha Denona
Kosas - 10-Second Eyeshadow NATASHA DENONA - Mini Nude Eyeshadow Palette Traditionally, I would only use powder eyeshadows. I’ve never had issues with color payoff or lasting powder with many of my eyeshadow palettes. I’ve never been one to use liquid eyeshadows but I’ve been experimenting with these Kosas 10 second eyeshadows. I was intrigued by the claim that this is a quick way to complete a whole eye look. Immediately I will say that these take more than 10 seconds to use. If you want a good color payoff you will have to build these up and wait for them to dry between each coat. Also, I prefer using at least one shade in my crease before applying this to my eyelid because I like the end result better. That step is not necessary however it does add on to the time needed to work with these. This particular shade goes on sheer at first and a bit streaky. The color is gorgeous but you do need to work quickly and carefully with them. I think this would be good as a base for another shadow on top of it for a long lasting effect however, I don’t think this particular liquid eyeshadow is more convenient than a traditional powder eyeshadow. I’m obsessed with the Natasha Denona mini palettes. They are very small however I get good use out of all the shades. This particular bronzy shimmer shade is similar to the Kosas ones. This brand has some of the best metallic shades on the market in my opinion. They swatch beautifully and feel almost wet. The color payoff is insane in one swipe and I find it so easy to apply these to the lid. I don’t need a primer or concealer to make this eyeshadow pop with intense color. I love the other shades in this palette as well and I often mix the shimmer shades together before applying onto the lid. In my opinion, powder eyehsadows are the same if not better than a liquid eyeshadow in terms of color payoff and lasting power. It might not be worth it to carry around a tube of just one eye shade when you can use this mini palette instead
Solid vs. Liquid - Eyeshadow Edition
Hello lovies! Today I’m bringing you Battle of the eyeshadow: liquid vs. solid! We all love our eyeshadows but have you ever stopped to think “hey which type of consistency do I really like 😳?” Well look no further because I’m bringing you some insight into my opinion on the matter! For some background information I have a light to medium skin tone with a pink undertone and I have oily eye lids. The fact that my lids are oily makes it tricky to find good eyeshadows! Let’s begin with Kosas - 10-Second Eyeshadow in shade Globe. This liquid eyeshadow retails for $28.00, slightly on the more expensive side. I won this item in a giveaway and it’s my first and only KOSAS item. This claims to be a 10 second eyeshadow, fast drying, and crease resistant formula. It’s a neutral champagne shade which is ideal if you’re looking for a natural makeup look! Now when I say this liquid eyeshadow is quick drying and long lasting - I mean it truly is! Even my swatch was difficult to wash off because this eyeshadow is so long lasting. I love that it is so quick to use and you get an amazing color pay off. Unfortunately the loops I had done with natural light could not be uploaded and I had to take new loops on a cloudy day. However, you can still see how pretty it is. Next, is my solid/powder eyeshadow COLOURPOP - Birthday Cake Super Shock Pigment Duo in shade Extra Sprinkles. This eyeshadow pigment is one of two that comes in the Birthday Cake bundle ($12.00). These are super cute and fun but don’t have the best color pay off as you would expect. This collection was a limited edition collaboration with an ice cream company hence the cute name and shade. As you can see in the last loop, this solid eyeshadow does not compare to the liquid shadow. You can also see how the both shades look on my skin tone but I believe they would look great on any skin tone. In the end, I have to say my preference regarding different forms of eyeshadow is the liquid form! Funny enough it’s my first liquid eyeshadow and I think I know what I’ll be buying with my Sephora gift cards now! It’s so easy to use and color pay is so extreme you would think your makeup is edited! Hope this mini review helps you in deciding which eyeshadow you prefer!

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.4 DAYS AGO
