✨Current morning routine ☀️✨
This is my fall/winter skin routine, it’s not as moisturizing as a lot of others people’s routines (but I’m indoors a lot more so my biggest concern is dry air versus cold dry air, and maskne) THE inkey LIST - Polyglutamic Acid Hydrating Serum Recently, I learned of the benefits of polyglutamic acid and figured why not try it out. Apart from the strong chemical smell. I love the foundation it creates for my face, leaving it ever so slight tacky making it much easier to add on other products without that built up feeling. It’s been a couple months and I have noticed a different in the softness of my face and just so you know, it’s perfectly fine to use with hyaluronic acid! COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence After my foundation, I go on to add the revered snail mucin, no need to rave about this. You must already know if you’re here haha. THE inkey LIST - Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) Blemish + Blackhead Serum My newest holy grail. It has reduced the appearance of the clogged pores on my nose. And let me tell you I have so many of them. From blackheads to keratin plugs. I totally believe everyone should have a bha serum of any sort in their routine! PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I go over all of the previous products with 2 of my favorite niacinamide products, niacinamide helps with a multitude of ailments, from hyperpigmentation/scarring to pore care. It’s definitely helped with certain areas of my face. THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream I know the cream isn’t going to stay put only on my eye area and usually I avoid eye creams all together but recently I have been interested in trying out different eye creams, I do enjoy this one. Although I have not really seem much of a difference in the way my eyes look haha THE BETTER SKIN CO. - Better Skin Mirakle Cream To seal it all in, a good fragrance free moisturizer.

This is my all-time, holy grail, ride or die serum...and I’m out 😭 Here’s a brief overview of my skin before I get into the product review: My skin is not problematic; I get a breakout during ‘that time’ of the month and I have a wee bit of redness in my cheek area. My skin is however incredibly, painfully dry. I can’t use anything that isn’t suitable for dry skin bc, if I do, my skin will feel like it going to crack. The Glass Skin Refining Serum ($39) created by Peach and Lily, is serum that I use every 👏🏻 single 👏🏻 day. I’m seriously bummed that I cannot go out an repurchase this atm. The cocktail of ingredients is amazing for people with incredibly dry skin - it is good for all skin types though. ✨ This serum has a hyaluronic acid complex that draws in hydration and deeply hydrates every single layer of my skin by using long-chain, medium-chain, and short chain hyaluronic acid. ✨ Peach and Lily included niacinamide; an ingredient used to reduce inflammation in the skin. Niacinamide, because it reduces inflammation, is a really amazing ingredient for people with ance-prone skin It’s also and antioxidant, so it’s also a wonderful anti-aging ingredient. When I use this product, my skin glows brighter and my skin feels bouncier! My skin drinks it up! I am constantly trying new skincare products, and I very rarely repurchase unless I am absolutely obsessed. This will be one of the first things purchase once quarantine lifts!
PEACH & LILY-Glass Skin Refining Serum
These saved my dry skin! ❄️
I usually have combination skin but for the past few weeks my skin has been extremely dry and tight. I’ve felt the most dryness on the lower parts of my cheeks and slowly my face has become more sensitive. These products have definitely helped improve the texture and hydration of my skin. I’m usually somewhat dry with my forehead/nose being really oily. My area has been having really cold dry winter days and nights. I start off with glossier milky jelly cleanser. It’s super conditioning. It doesn’t lather and helps soothe the redness. This has always worked for my combination skin and now works perfectly for my dehydrated dry skin. This doesn’t have a scent which I love. I have the full size and I already bought a back up of this. Full size is 6 oz $18 Mini size is 2 oz $9 Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser I follow with my peach & Lilly glass skin refining serum. I’ve been using this since July and it’s really light but moisturizing. It doesn’t irritate my skin at all and I’ve definitely seen my skin be less textured. This texture is very thin close to watery. This also doesn’t have a scent to it. It’s kinda pricey but does last several months. It’s $39 for 1 oz PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum For moisturizer I’ve been using the GLAMGLOW moisture trip omega rich moisturizer. This is a lightweight moisturizer but feels very hydrating. It has helped with my redness a lot. It has hyaluronic acid so it will help with dryness. It’s a nice feeling knowing you’re putting on a good moisturizer to help with dryness without the thickness of it. It has a slight fresh/avocado scent to it. It’s pricey at $55 for 1.7 oz. GLAMGLOW - MOISTURETRIP Omega-Rich Face Moisturizer At night I love to follow with the origins drink up intensive overnight hydrating mask with avocado & Swiss glacier water. I absolutely love this overnight mask. I’ve been using it for years and it’s something I trust to get rid of the dryness and tightness in my skin. It feels really soft on the skin and it’s not thick. Its great for my sensitive skin too. It has a very slight avocado smell but it’s not too much. For the first week I used this every night. After that I now use this every other day. Besides that I tend to use this once or twice a week. Full 2.5 oz is $27 Mini 1 oz is $13 ORIGINS - Drink Up-Intensive Overnight Mask to Quench Skin's Thirst I never forget about the lips and I use my trusty glossier mint balm dot com. I love this so much that I’m almost done with it. Personally the mint, rose, coconut and Un scented one are the ones with the most hydration. It’s pricey but I’ve had this for about a year. It’s 0.5 oz for $12. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom
👩🔬My Tretinoin Journey ~ 8 Weeks in
Hi all! I started tretinoin / retin-a about 8 weeks ago for the first time. I got my prescription from Curology specifically seeking tretinoin, which I told my doctor so he would be sure to prescribe it to me! Always tell them if you’re looking for a specific ingredient! 👩🔬What is tretinoin/Retin-A? Tretinoin is a Retinoid; retinoids are derivatives of Vitamin A (retinol, retinaldehyde, retinal, isotretinoin, adapalene are others.) Tretinoin’s intended and approved use is for acne, as it was created for acne treatment, but it is very often prescribed for anti aging and skin texture because through the decades of research, doctors found it was great for reducing wrinkles and large pores and repairing sun damage. Tretinoin increases cell turnover and exfoliates the top layers of our skin Decreases the shedding of dead skin cells into our pores + decreases inflammation It works much more deeply and much more effectively than its non-prescription counterparts, such as regular retinol Although strengths cannot be compared across the board, it has been observed that retinol is roughly 20 times less potent than tretinoin Decades of research confirm tretinoin as the holy grail, “gold-standard” in topical treatments for fighting acne + clogged pores, as well as smoothing out fine lines + wrinkles, reducing pigmentation from damage, and evening the skin texture 🙋♀️Who should use tretinoin? Tretinoin is suitable for most people; the only people who should be wary of it are those who have extremely sensitive skin, rosacea ❌Do not use tretinoin or any retinoids when pregnant or breastfeeding!❌ Dermatologists say that tretinoin is a great option for comedonal acne since it exfoliates + prevents plugging of the pores 💊Using/starting Tretinoin - tips from me + my dermatologist I’d recommend starting with tretinoin in a lotion/cream formula as it tends to be less harsh than the gel due to having soothing ingredients included in the formula. Curology has a cream formula that I absolutely love LOW + SLOW : start with a low dose (ask your doctor and give them your history) + go slowly with use. My derm recommended starting M W F of each week but do it less if you are experiencing too much irritation always follow instructions + advice from your dermatologist. With curology, I am able to send my provider messages and pictures with concerns and requests Simplify your routine! I did cut back to hydrating cleanser(s), hydrating toner or essence, thick moisturizer, my curology formula, + an oil on top to lock it all in. As your skin accustoms you will be able to slowly work those treatment products back in SPF ALWAYS🌞 I started tretinoin at 0.005% and upped to 0.01% after one month and I am seeing smoother skin and smaller pores, with very little purging. Pictures are from ordered from oldest to new except the first which compares starting with 8 weeks.
