Best Shaving Routine for Sensitive Areas + Skin!
I cannot tell you how stressful it’s been the past couple of years trying literally everything to manage ingrown hairs along my bikini line and around the lady bits. Sometimes, depending on the heat, I’ll get really bad skin rashes on my legs and the armpit area, and with practically translucent skin, it typically meant I had to stay completely covered up. I tried dozens of different products- creams and serums specifically for shaving eos - Lavender Shave Cream (EOS- do NOT recommend any of their products if you have sensitive skin, only stick to their lip balms). European Wax Center also does not have great products for sensitive skin, even in their sensitive skincare line it’s proven to include really heavy products that still cause or continue redness. Yikes!! Whether waxing or shaving or sugaring it fucking BLEW because nothing was working. Anyways, this stuff pictured above finally became the solution!! Aside from what’s pictured, to clean the area before this shaving routine, for ph balance down there, I love using DR. BRONNER'S - Peppermint Pure-Castile Liquid Soap or if your skin down below is feeling extra sensitive, DR. BRONNER'S - Pure-Castile Liquid Soap To exfoliate, I was wildly surprised when I applied by hand the TREE HUT - Sugar Scrub Coconut Lime because not only was my skin NOT irritated by it, but it’s truly got the best summer shower scent. Great aromatherapy experience, and this baby costs less than $10 and can last you anywhere between 1-3 months. When it’s the summer and I’ve shaving my legs more often, it’s closer to a 2-month timeframe. I also apply this with my hands pretty gently- I don’t use loofahs or other scrubbing tools to avoid potential redness, irritation and/or infection. Anyways, after exfoliating, the shave butter is epic, DR. CARVER'S - Shave Butter I stole it from my boyfriend, because I noticed he was using it as a face cream and his face was 1,000,000x softer than a baby’s butt. It’s normally packaged as part of Dollar Shave Clubs shaving bundle, but for what it is, it’s reasonably priced on an individual level. The flamingo - Razor has proven for price point and product quality to be great (refills are also cheaper than Venus, Intuition and certain men’s razors too). It also comes in really cute pastel and neutral colors if you’re big on that. Granted, I always shave really slowly, so consider this haha. After I’m out of the shower, I immediately apply fur - Stubble Cream and I also apply twice per week after I shower and don’t shave. While it’s more expensive, it’s really worth the price point, and has been lasting more longer than other creams in the past have while being way more effective in my most sensitive areas. Thanks for reading!✌🏼️

“It felt like my legs were being dermaplaned”
A while back Flamingo sent me some of their wax kits to try and I absolutely fell in love with them. When I went to Target today I took another stroll by the Flamingo section and decided to try out their flamingo - Razor . I initially thought it was a really good deal being that it was $9.99 and you got a really pretty (green! My favorite color) razor, a refill head, and a shower holder (which I loved because I always end up leaving mine in a puddle of water and they get gross :/). I should have read the reviews on Target’s website before purchasing because none of them were good despite it having 4 stars. I popped the razor in my shower in the beginning of the day and I was happy to say that despite it feeling like cheap plastic and a suction cup it held pretty sturdy. I went about my day and when I was finally ready to shower at night it was still exactly where I put it. That’s about where the positive remarks end. The razor fits nicely in the hand but I don’t notice the grooves on the handle doing much of anything extra for gripping. The blades were extremely sharp (it has a five blade head). Because of this I went extra slow and gentle on my legs. I noticed on my first leg a drip of blood started forming. I didn’t feel like I knicked myself since the shave was so smooth but I must have. I ignored it and went onto my other leg because stuff happens. When I went to my other leg I had five different spots of blood running down my leg. It wasn’t a lot but for me to knick myself in five different places is odd. Halfway through this leg I noticed my legs feeling extremely dry and a little itchy. The razor was so sharp it felt like my legs were being dermaplaned while it was taking off the hairs. I also noticed a few slight marks on my one thigh from what I’m assuming was the blade. While it did a really good job at taking off the hair I didn’t like how my skin felt. I also want to point out it has a plastic bit on top where normally some sort of gel sits on a razor but it was just regular plastic on this razor. I found this odd that they even included the top part as it serves no purpose. When I got out of the shower and dried off my legs they were still very dry and itchy. I grabbed a heavy cream body butter that had shea butter and vitamin e (with no fragrance or essential oils) and it burned on contact. I had never had that happen before with that body butter after shaving my legs. Even as I type this my legs feel irritated. This razor is going straight back to Target.
Flamingo vs. Schick
I was using the Hydro Silk for awhile as you can see by the browning in the plastic. I adored the colour and most feminine razors are pink. Overtime I could tell it was an effective razor but I had been constantly nicking myself. The head kept popping off time to time as well. Although it still got the job done. Schick Hydro Silk ⭐️ ⭐️ I recently traded it in for the mint flamingo, it was a smaller more aesthetically pleasing razor. Flamingo is gentle yet really effective on my skin, had been no nicks with the 2 weeks I started using it. Also the head hasn’t popped off yet. This razor is a few dollars cheaper then the previous one, same with the razor heads. It definitely got the job done with no complications. And the fact that it’s gorgeous. Flamingo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Schick-Hydro Silk Sensitive Care Razor
A great razor
I’ve been through so many razors that I lost count. But this is hands down one of my favorites. None of those razors are as good as this one. First off, I love how smooth my legs feel after using it. I love the way the head of the razor moves with the bumps and curves of your body. This 5 bladed razor makes my routine of shaving a breeze. The handle and weight of the razor is perfect in my hand. The shower holder is a bonus, that I haven’t gotten to use yet but I can’t wait to use it. I also love the colors that it came in (orange, gray, pink, green, and probably a few more). I was surprised of how cheap it was. I got it at Target for $10.
flamingo - Razor PRODUCT An affordable razor that makes shaving easy and convenient. OPINION I love the idea behind this razor, and as the sister company to Harry’s this is extremely affordable at around $10. I have enjoyed using this (as much as one can enjoy shaving) but I have to say that the top of the razor often pops off because of the location of the area where you “pop off” the razor head. I ultimately keep purchasing the new blades because they’re so cheap, but it is a big bummer that the blade pops off. I give this a 4/5 stars because of affordability and accessibility to all.
