Here comes the sun ☀️
Here comes the sun ☀️
Some favorites that bring a dose of sunshine to my skin! ☀️ ☀️☀️ bliss - Bright Idea Serum Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Serum this is a new addition to my routine but I’m digging it so far. It has a great packaging, great texture, and it’s a decent price for the size! Don’t want to comment too much on the effects yet since it’s a new purchase ☀️☀️☀️ Glossier. - Balm Dotcom love this stuff, particularly the mango flavor. It smells so yummy and it has the added bonus of working as a cuticle cream as well! ☀️☀️☀️ SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil used this whole sample, but just didn’t love it for some reason. The oil was super thin, so application wasn’t the easiest. I felt like it left my skin super oily, which I don’t love in the mornings under my makeup. If it was a night product, I may have a different opinion. Won’t be purchasing. ☀️☀️☀️ SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream freakin love this cream. I use it as the last step in my morning routine, and it is the perfect texture cream. Sinks in quickly and really does brighten! ☀️☀️☀️ OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème jury’s still out on this one. At first I really did not like the texture...unlike anything I’ve ever used. Over time, it has grown on me, since it has an opaque look on the skin. Cant tell if it makes a huge difference on my dark circles though. ☀️☀️☀️ SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Bum Bum Cream love this, duh ☀️☀️☀️ EARTH HARBOR - Sunshine Dew Antioxidant Cleansing Oil new purchase and I love it already! Smells like sunshine and does a great job for a first cleanse. ☀️☀️☀️ TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 this is great for sun protection, especially because it also blocks blue light. However, it leaves a super shiny tint on my face and pills off if mixed with other products. Not sure I’d buy again.

Mini guide to Vitamin C 🍋🍊
Mini guide to Vitamin C 🍋🍊
Vitamin C is one of the very best ingredients you can add to your skincare routine! 🍋Vitamin C in a skin care regimen plays an important role in preventing photoaging and there is decades of research on this beneficial ingredient. As a potent antioxidant, it helps quench free radicals formed by UV radiation. UVA rays are the leading source of damage to collagen, elastin, and other dermal structures, whereas UVB rays (also called the burning ray) contribute to skin burning and skin cancer. 🍋Vitamin C not only helps repair free radical damage, but it brightens the skin and helps fade dark spots, it also stimulates collagen production, improving the skin’s texture and quality. It’s generally safe and gentle, even for sensitive skin without the skin irritating side effects of other actives like Retinol. 🍋Vitamin C products are not all made equal. If not correctly stored, even if they are, it can become unstable rendering it ineffective. Look for stable 10% to 20% L-ascorbic acid. 🍋First-timers, look for products formulated with tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, which is a stable form of Vitamin C—this form is less irritating to the skin and is generally tolerated by all skin types. Make sure you store any products with vitamin C in a cool and dry place away from any sunlight. Serums keep vitamin C the most stable and have the best delivery system. Creams are good for more sensitive skin because they tend to have more ingredients that decrease irritation.Gel-based formulas can be the most aggravating for a majority of people because of the more alcohol based content they have. 🍋You can use Vitamin C in the morning and in the evening unlike a lot of other skincare ingredients. Ingredients such as vitamin E and ferulic acid help boost a vitamin C serum’s potential, and if you are prone to skin sensitivity, ingredients like niacinamide can help to temper the potent antioxidant. I’ve been using this skincare combo over the course of a few weeks and I must say it works quite well on my sensitive skin. Here’s a breakdown of the products shown above: Products used: bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Cleanser $13 - This is a gentle foaming cleanser for sensitive skin and didn’t irritate my skin whatsoever. No stinging or excessive dryness afterwards. bliss - Pumpkin Powerhouse Resurfacing & Exfoliating Enzyme Mask $15 - This mask is infused with a 10% skin smoothing pumpkin blend of natural AHA’s which gently exfoliated my skin. The pumpkin smell is pretty pungent but my skin was so smooth after I rinsed this bad boy off. bliss - Bright Idea Serum Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Serum $27 - it’s safe to say anything with vitamin C becomes my bff. Over the course of two weeks my skin began to look brighter but most importantly my dark spots slowly began to fade. bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Moisturizer $21 - This is a gentle moisture cream that applied thick but melted into my skin as I began to rub it in. Very suitable for sensitive skin. bliss - Lemon & Sage Body Butter $5 - I gave this body butter a 3 mainly because of the added in fragrance. It does smell amazing but I have eczema prone skin and I am always skeptical to putting fragrances on my body. Overall, the vitamin C serum is definitely my fav since it helps combat these stubborn dark marks and the gentle moisture cream is a close second. This skincare combo has had me feeling refreshed all throughout my zoom meetings😌

Update on my products, almost forgot 2 things
Update on my products, almost forgot 2 things
In addition to my last post: I added my sunscreen and eye cream. I switch out the moisturizer with the sunscreen during the day and I usually keep it more simple during the day. Cleanser, toner, vitamin C serum, 10% Azeleic acid booster and a small amount of the gel moisturizer in my t-zone, then finish with two fingers worth of sunscreen. At night sometimes I end with just the gel moisturizer, sometimes I add my Curology on my problem areas. TRYING to keep it simple while treating my skin. Still pretty oily sometimes, especially if I’m not hydrating. Acne is still bad and have many red spots but trying to be patient. Lmk what you think! ✌🏽&❤️

Working on building my skincare and just added some good stuff! I’ve only been using kraves matcha hemp cleanser, the toner and the versed gel moisturizer for a couple days but I can already feel the difference in my skin. My skin feels definitely less dry after cleansing, so moisturized after toning and less oily with the gel cleanser. Also the derma e cleansing balm I’ve been using for a couple weeks and it feels so good. It’s a type of relaxation that you need to experience after a stressful day. Feel your facial muscles relax after using this for five minutes. This has also helped with my blackheads and pores. My boyfriend loves it too. 🥰
