We love an effective & affordable cleansing balm
Although I am sad to stray from my Then I met you - Living Cleansing Balm, I was super excited to try this balm and so far I am loving it! The texture and look & feel reminds me a lot of coconut oil since it starts as a solid that melts into this lovely oil. It’s a great first cleanse! The good: + This feels like such a gentle formula. As you work this product into your skin it turns into this lovely oily substance that just dissolves all the makeup / spf off your face. + It’s easy to rinse off with water and doesn’t leave a film or any weird residue behind. + Skin feels cleansed afterwards but not dry and doesn’t feel like I’ve stripped the skin. + It’s $15-20, depending on where you live, which is such a good price. Especially because you use such a tiny amount each night. I can see this lasting me several months. + Star ingredients include Shea butter (hydrating and anti-inflammatory), camellia oil (moisturizing and nourishing) and sea buckthorn oil (rejuvenating). The not so good: - Well it’s not as luxurious as the experience of using the Then I Met You version. But honestly I don’t mind. It’s a product that goes down the sink in about a minute anyways so I would rather it work well.. which it does. - If you have very sensitive skin, there are a couple fragrances / floral oils in here that may be irritating. I personally haven’t had any issues but do want to point it out. - If ingredients matter to you, you might notice that the three key ingredients are fairly low on the list. It does feel a bit weird for them to claim the Shea butter, camellia oil and sea buckthorn oil are the key ingredients when the concentrations are not that prominent. BUT on the other hand maybe these are ingredients that work best in small amounts. This doesn’t both me too much because 1) the product works and 2) it’s a rinse-off product anyways. Worth it? Affordable. Effective. Good amount of product. In my opinion it’s worth it. Will I repurchase? If I ever need another cleansing balm (currently working on this and the Then I Met You version, which are both lasting me so long). Then yes! Especially because I want to try more products from this brand. Even if I find another balm I like better, I might just buy one of these to have as a back up because it’s so affordable. Ps I have combination, acne prone skin. Pps you should check out Good Molecules’ “Nothing to hide ingredient lists”. They are very cool.

NEW IN: my skin care ritual just got fancy
ULTA had ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Perfect Partners on sale and I just had to guys. I love Elemis products and have been dying to try these two products. I love cleansing balms. They are the best thing to remove waterproof makeup without stinging and irritating your eyes. Yes, micellar water works as well but I usually use it after to make sure everything is off . This cleansing balm is so luxurious and oh my word the smell is absolutely divine. The balm is based with rose and mimosa waxes and are infused with elderberry, starflower and optimega oils and supercharged with anti-aging algae, padina pavonica— a Mediterranean algae with proven outstanding anti-aging benefits. Some of my favorites are: CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm (works well but they test on animals) BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original Then I met you - Living Cleansing Balm After cleansing, I follow up with my new favorite retinol alternative ingredient, Baluchiol in ACURE - Radically Rejuvenating Dual Phase Bakuchiol Serum . I use this twice a day before moisturizing for that extra bit of moisture and protection from free radicals. I have to be honest, I have not tried the cream. I’m sure it is divine but I’m currently half way through two creams and it seemed wasteful to open this one... and I wouldn’t really be giving it a good test run if I’m still using the others right!? I will update in a later post. What other cleansing balm should I try? Thank you. Be Kind, Stay Beautiful **Elemis, Banila Co, Then I met you are all 🐰cruelty free.

Papaya enzymes be giving me ✨gLaSs sKiN✨🥺✌🏻
SKIN TYPE: Always dry and sensitive due to eczema, highly allergic to dust, pollen and some fragrances😔✌🏻. Around every 2 weeks or so I get eczema flare ups using Novasone (prescribed steroid ointment) to relieve it. GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm Personally, it’s a 3.75 out of 5 due to how pricey it is ($51AUD) and the main concern for people being that it leaves residue/oily film. It has its pros and cons but I think the pros outweigh the cons if you’re willing to spend for glowing, glass skin vibes. Glow Recipe claims to “Gently slough away dead skin... remove makeup, dirt and oil... softens the skin while delivering on hydration”, and sis is delivering. Eczema means a lot of dead skin and sebum build-up giving me a lot of milia bumps, especially the flaking skin from dry patches when you attempt to exfoliate while trying not to piss it off making it angry and inflamed; this for dry skin types was perfect as a gentle oil based cleanser. While I did try using this with light and medium heavy makeup on, I found that using a lot of product to remove heavier makeup left a film residue on the skin, with warm water rinsing not completely removing the feeling of something on my face. For this I use The ORCHID Skin - Cleansing Sponge ($5AUD) as a daily gentle physical exfoliant to remove the remaining residue/makeup. This combination of oil cleanser and facial sponge exfoliation surprisingly doesn’t irritate my eczema skin thus I use this daily cleanse once in the mornings and double cleansing at night. After 1 month of daily use I saw visible effects in which there was a decrease in bumps and pimples but it was a gradual change over continuous/consistent use. I take a small amount (the surface area of pinky nail) on each cheek and massage it in on my dampened face for ~1-2minutes then rinsing off and dried with a facial sponge. My skincare routine consists of: Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gelée Milk Cleanser & GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm Avène - Hydrance AQUA-GEL & Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream For anti-itching and soothing when the skin gets fucked LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Repairing Balm or Avène - Skin Recovery Cream (only lasts ~2months using daily hence 4stars). THE VERDICT: Defo will be repurchasing due to how effective this Papaya cleansing balm has been for my skin in gently exfoliating, not drying or irritating at all for an eczema-sensitive, acne-prone skin type as well as they say it is made without fragrance but it still smells faintly of papayas🥰. HOWEVER, this is fucking expensive, there’s deffo cheaper alternatives such asheimish - Heimish All Clean Balm orThen I met you - Living Cleansing Balm I’m still repurchasing tho😔✌🏻

Makeup wipes are horribly bad for skin.
Switch to double cleansing instead! I posted this Then I met you - Living Cleansing Balm previously and here’s some texture video of the living cleansing balm! It’s key ingredients are Persimmon, Seaberry Oil, Grapeseed Oil and Vitamin E. What I love about it: 🍋 Removes my makeup so well (including eyeliners m, waterproof mascaras and sunscreens) 🍋 Cleanses my face gently without tugging 🍋 Lessen clogged pores 🍋 Has citrusy smell, very relaxing 🍋 Makes my skin calm & moisturized 🍋 No tight or stripping feeling I use this every night! This is such a great product to invest in. It’s a little bit pricey but it does wonders so it’s worth it. Throw your makeup wipes and start double cleansing! 🤍 Skin type: I have combination skin
