If you thought you can use any type of foundation and it would suit your skin, think again. I mean, you might, but if it’s really not for your skin type, you probably wont like it. And heres why: If you have oily skin you may want a foundation that is mattifying and if you have dry skin, you may want a foundation that feels hydrating and has a dewy finish. Whats more, if you have dry skin, you may want to opt for a liquid foundation because solid foundations like sticks and pots may not blend as well and can sit in dry areas and make your skin look creased. Similarly, oily skin gals may also like liquid foundations more because they are more easily blendable and don’t crease or sit in oily patches, but may also like sticks as well because our oils can help blend those out better. Also, coverages play a role in what you may like as well. If you have pretty clear skin, you may like low-medium coverage foundations but if your acne prone and have lots of breakouts, you’d like a full coverage more. I myself have combo-oily skin and like both liquid foundations and have found some foundation sticks to be quite nice on me as well. What I dont like is compacts or powders because I think they crease alot, but I may also may not have found the right one. My absolute favorite foundation right now is LANCÔME - Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation . This is a medium- full coverage, liquid, mattifying foundation. So it’s buildable; if you dont have many breakouts you just wont need to use as much product, and if you have some spots you want to cover, just use a bit more. Some find this foundation too flat though, and thats because it just mattifies so well, ans maybe you just need that much matte. In that case I would highly recommend BITE - Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation . It is a med-full coverage, liquid with a natural and smooth finish, much less mattifying than Teinte Idole, but still not dewy. These are two good foundations for combo-oily skin that I love. MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 Foundation is also a popular full coverage, natural, mattifying finish. BURBERRY - Matte Glow Fluid to me was matte but also hydrating, but not in a glowy/dewy way. It is thicker than my two faves above which is why its not on my faves list- just needs more time to blend. LISE WATIER - Teint Velours Velvet Matte Foundation Stick is probably the best foundation stick I’ve ever used. Its velvety, easy to blend and not too thick. I just dont find it to be very buildable, and only use this on clearer skin days. #cheriepartner

I’ve been absolutely loving this foundation by Bite Beauty. It matches my skin so perfectly, lucky for me- but they have 32 shades, so you’re bound to find yours too! It has a natural, minimally dewy finish. Not too matte, and not too shiny. Feels like a second skin and last all day! I like applying it with a brush, I find that way works best for me but I think you’d have no problems if you like using a sponge too. In this video I fee like it looks like alot, but I used some on my neck too. Its a medium-full, buildable coverage- my favourite kind. Its also formulated with an antioxidant complex, which is amazing. I love when makeup has a skincare benefit as well. Antioxidants will protect your skin against exposomes, like climate, harsh weather conditiona, pollution, smoke, gasoline etc by neutralizing the free radicals. I love using antioxidants because I live in the city and definitely always exposed to exposomes. BITE - Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation Definitely think this is worth checking out.

I’ve been intimidated by cut crease looks for so long, but yesterday I thought it’s worth a try with a good tutorial. I’m quite happy with the results, I did this look in the evening and it stayed fresh until I was heading to bed which was frustrating bc I didn’t want to wash it off 😪 Eyes: tarte - SEA Hydrocealer Concealer to prime the eye + to cut the crease NYX - Ultimate Shadow Palette for matte yellow and orange shades; wish the pigment was a little stronger but this is good for drugstore makeup PAT McGRATH LABS - Eye Ecstasy Duo & ĀETHER BEAUTY - Supernova Crushed Diamond Highlighter to fill the crease Milk MAKEUP - Kush Waterproof Mascara + Cala eyelashes on the outer corner of my eyes for a fan out effect 🦚 elate - Brow Balm & Milk MAKEUP - KUSH Fiber Brow Gel to fill in them brows Face: BITE - Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation TOWER 28 - Bronzino Illuminating Cream Bronzer (not pictured) I loooove this, the pigment is build able and can be easily blended in ĀETHER BEAUTY - Supernova Crushed Diamond Highlighter as highlighter FENTY BEAUTY - Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter the orange one as blush Lips: BITE - Power Move Creamy Matte Lip Crayon as lip liner BITE - Crystal Crème Shimmer Lip Crayon as sheen TOWER 28 - Juicy All The Way - Mini Lip Jelly Set as lipgloss

Quick and easy video call makeup
Quick and easy video call makeup
Times have changed so much, now most of us are only going to work virtually, which has its pros and cons. One Pro is that work is literally downstairs or the next room, but the Con with that might be that we roll out of bed too soon before a meeting- I know that would be me 😅 and would end up looking like a zombie for the call. I think a quick and easy makeup routine would be everyones go-to right now, especially in these cases, which is why Ive come up with my go-to quick and easy makeup look that passes up virtual meetings. The key is to have very few steps, and very effective (pigmented makeup) allowing you less time for makeup application. My routine consists of my medium-full coverage foundation BITE - Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation - a really lovely foundation with a natural finish, a lightweight concealer benefit - Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer - good for fatigued eyes and puffiness, but not so much dark circles (fortunately I dont have that concern) bronzer, blush and finish off with a mascara. For the sake of a quick look, I skip eyeshadow, eyeliner and dont focus on coverage for undereyes or acne spots. Theyre barely noticeable on camera anyway without makeup, so foundation should do the job just fine 👍🏼👍🏼 Let me know what your quick and easy makeup routine for virtual work is looking like these days! Bronzer MAC - MAC Bronzing Powder a golden bronze with some shimmer Blush Nars Goulue a pink-purple shade Mascara L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara #cheriepartner

Blue Eyeshadow Wing 💎
Blue Eyeshadow Wing 💎
I would like to share my experience with two products with this makeup look: I used to think that blue wasn’t really my colour (whatever that means?!) ...until I had a campaign photoshoot for my old workplace, and the makeup artist/CEO of a rising local Canadian makeup brand, MisMack had me in the chair, and picked this blue shade: #MisMack - ART Shadow Blue Flower Power[products]#[FiveStars] At first, I was super opposed like “why would you pick THIS out of all colours?!” But I trusted her experienced vision and was not disappointed. I fell in love with blue again, so much that I ended up investing in this award winning shade, which is a bit pricey at $25 per shade, but it’s a) pro-pigment, meaning great for professional makeup artists, AND b) clean. It comes in a metal tin, and fits into a magnetic palette - yay for sustainability points! So I’ve been using this blue shade in more of my looks recently and I find that it somehow looks quite natural on me. I was pretty upset on this day, but doing my makeup and expressing myself helped. I also have some good news, I finally found a highlighter that’s better suited for my warm skin tone and that gives me that nice shimmer pop in photos! 🌟 Her name is LAWLESS - Lucid Skin Highlighter She’s great! I got this highlighter during that big Sephora sale, and we have been almost inseparable since she arrived at my doorstep! Nice on a bare face and a foundation prepped face! The only reason I gave this a 4-star is because it’s a little crumbly, so I have to brush of the excess off the brush each time before applying it on my face and sometimes have to rub it in with my fingers, so it blends more cohesively with my skin. Other than that, she fLAWLESS baby! The rest of the makeup I’m wearing here, that I’ll go into more detail about later are: Foundation: BITE - Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation Brow balm: elate - Brow Balm Lips: BITE - Power Move Creamy Matte Lip Crayon Blush: FENTY BEAUTY - Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter

Bite Foundation - not worth the hype
Bite Foundation - not worth the hype
The last hyped product I tried was the Bite Changemaker Foundation, and unfortunately I was disappointed. I wanted to LOVE this! I am a huge fan of bite and I had seen so many glowing reviews. It is a medium coverage foundation with a natural finish. Bite is known for their clean lipsticks, and this was their first venture into the complexion space. What I love about bite is their use of food-grade ingredients and naturally derived ingredients. My skin has dry patches mostly around my nose, mouth, and chin. On the areas without dry spots this foundation looked BEAUTIFUL! However on the dry areas it did cling and emphasize texture. The deal breaker for me, however, was the scent of the product. I am not totally fragrance-averse. I am ok with it in some products. However the actual scent was atrocious! It smelled musty and moldy like a dirty dish rag. And the smell did not fade once applied. It lingered all day long! It was honestly gag worthy. Needless to say I returned this one! BITE - Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation
