When You Need that Extra Refresh
When You Need that Extra Refresh
Today I woke up feeling quite blah and wanted to feel more refreshed. I don’t currently have any apparent issues with my skin but I wanted to make my skin look and feel more awake. Do you ever wake up feeling just dull and wanting to give yourself that boost, even if it’s just something small like taking the time to do your skincare? I randomly picked out the products I thought would be perfect for making my skin feel refreshed and this is what I came up with. Of course you should pick any products you feel will do the trick for you :) 1). I first cleansed my skin (and skipped the toner today) 2). I applied the The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I always apply this all over my face, including under my eyes because it’s so hydrating and gentle. 3). Next, because niacinamide is the unicorn of all skincare products and mixes well with everything, I chose to add that next. It’s great if you have any noticeable redness or blemishes. 4). I applied The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG to depuff my eyes. 5). I then followed with OLAY - Eyes Brightening Eye Cream for that extra hydration (as if I didn’t get enough from the hyaluronic acid haha). 6). Then I applied REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream I know some online articles say not to mix vitamin C with niacinamide as they think they counteract each other’s benefits, but there’s no proof that this actually happens. With that being said, I love this vitamin C gel cream because it smells amazing and it makes my skin look nice and bright. 7). And just because I felt like it, I finished with a tiny bit of The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Although my skin isn’t dry, I felt the more moisture the more refreshed I’d feel. I love all of these products and highly recommend everyone to try them out, even if it’s just a sample. I have nothing bad to say about any of them. If you’re ever just feeling dull, blah, or needing a pick-me-up, it’s nice to just take the time to treat your skin. Use the products your skin agrees with, of course. I have normal skin and I’m thankful all of these products agree with my skin.

It’s been almost 2 months on Paulas choice and I’ve seen tremendous change on my skin! I’ve been using the same products in my last post consistently since I started, no change to diet or water intake if anything thanks to COVID I’ve gained more than a few pounds and indulged in eating some trashy foods. 😂 With that being said I do have hormonal acne usually a week before my menstrual cycle starts I break out with painful red acne on my chin area, jaw line, neck, and cheek bones BUT i do have to give major thanks to this one product that has made a huge difference in my skin out of all the products I’ve used especially during this outbreak PAULA'S CHOICE - 1% Retinol Treatment with Peptides + Vitamin C Around the time my menstrual cycle starts I switch out my whole night time routine for retinol use every night so I do not develop any painful acne, I use a gentle cleanser beforehand and use a gel moisturizer afterwards to keep my skin hydrated. I will be leaving updated reviews for each item I used in my last post and see what I will be repurchasing. Also please feel free to let me know what worked for you! I would love to try new brands and products. Hydration + pigmentation help
Hydration + pigmentation help for oily skin? Summer can be a good time for lighter skincare formulas a I’ve been testing out the ren skincare Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream. Made by one of my favourite brands, this moisturiser smells quite strongly like orange jelly (which I quite like but those with an intolerance to essential oils may not) and has a cooling, gel-like consistency. While this formula is a mixture of hydrating (water) and moisturising (oil), it perhaps comes down slightly more on the hydration side, meaning that on its own it is not quite rich enough for my currently dry skin. Once I add my normal SPF on top, however, my skin feels moisturised and comfortable, with no oiliness. The product’s active ingredients include ascorbyl glucoside, a highly-stable and water-soluble form of vitamin C thought to be able to slowly brighten skin and tackle hyperpigmentation. Although not as effective as the more potent L-ascorbic acid form of vitamin C, ascorbyl glucoside still acts as an antioxidant- helping to mop up free-radical damage. The formula also contains seabuckthorn oil- a great source of Omegas 3, 6 and 9- to moisturise and soothe inflammation, as well as Diglucosyl Gallic Acid (a benzoic acid derivative) to gently peel and brighten skin. The result is healthy radiance with zero greasiness, perhaps making it best-suited to oily types who want to brighten skin without too much of a glow. Plus points: Cooling gel formula. Its non-oily consistency and antioxidant action also make this great for use in the sun. Paraben, sulphate, detergent, mineral oil, synthetic fragrance and silicone free. Cruelty free. Minuses: Not hugely moisturising so possibly best-suited to combination or oily types.

Before & after on Paulas choice products 🙏🏼
Before & after on Paulas choice products 🙏🏼
I started incorporating Paulas Choice products into my skin care routine. This is before and after after a week and three days!! Helped with pores, oil production, redness, black heads and evening my skin tone. Morning Routine: Cleanser CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Exfoliant PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I actually hated this product at the beginning made my face extremely red and itchy after cleansing. I THOUGHT I saw no difference in my black heads and was going to toss it but giiiirrrrrrrlll the hype is real 👌🏼 ——————————————————————- I alternate between retinol and vitamin C in the morning Moisturizer REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream I used to love this but I realized this did nothing for my skin other than hydrate. Currently looking for alternative due to the ingredients. —————————————————————— When I’m not using vitamin C gel I use: Treatment PAULA'S CHOICE - 1% Retinol Treatment with Peptides + Vitamin C I’m slowly working this into my skin care routine but it’s by far my favorite product. Because BHA irritates my skin, I applied retinol and instantly cleared off my redness and minimized the size of my pores. Moisturizer BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer The only moisturizer my skin loves. Hydrates but not to the point to make my skin angry and break out. It feels like water it’s so refreshing and it alleviates any irritation my skin could be having. ————————————————————— SPF REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Clean Screen Mineral SPF 30 I use this every morning this is my right hand man for my 10 hr shifts. If I don’t wear this I’ll be red and oily within an hour. This does have a bad rep due to texture it is very thick and hard to mix in after it’s dried. My only con is that it leaves a white cast if applied too much. Night Time Routine: Cleanser CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin I double cleanse with this at night Exfoliant PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Treatment PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster I tried the ordinary’s version and my face hated me for it. But this one calms my skin entirely even after any harsh products I’m using. Treatment PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster It’s too early for me to tell if this is working on my acne. Moisturizer BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer I’ve had difficulty finding products that suit my oily sensitive acne prone skin and decided to splurge a little. Definitely worth it. If y’all have any recommendations for tweaking my skincare or helping with acne/dark circles please let me know!

 Battle of the Vitamin C’s!
Battle of the Vitamin C’s!
Okay y’all, I’ve been trying to find the perfect Vitamin C to add to my routine and it’s been challenging. Since quarantine started, I’ve tried 3 different options from different brands and I’m here to share my review. I’ll start by saying that I’m not completely sold on any of these as a permanent addition so if you have any favourite Vitamin C’s comment below! I’ll add my reviews from least favourite to most... let’s go ✨ 3. THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Serum 30ml This was my first The Inkey List purchase and while I love the price, I’m not a big fan of this formula. I found the cream (which is marketed as a serum) really thick and does not spread great on the skin. I found I had to use a lot to get the appropriate coverage or hydration that I expect for something with 30% L-Ascorbic acid. Disappointing overall 👎🏽 2. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Pure Vitamin C Face Serum I loved the texture of this serum! It was spreadable but not liquidy. It had a slight tack to it, but played really nicely with my following morning routine steps. I experienced no irritation. 3. REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream Another solid option! This was a true light cream texture that I was able to easily apply prior to my moisturizer, sunscreen and any makeup. I experienced no irritation. All that to say, I did find 2 solid options for a Vitamin C product, the only downside to both the La Roche Posay and REN products was the price of the full-size product 💵 I was able to try both of these out with the minis, but it’ll be hard to justify repurchasing the full size. I think the REN sliiiightly edges out the La Roche Posay as a favourite for this review. I do have the full size of The Inkey List tube so I’m using that up before I make a decision! If you have any thoughts of suggestions, let me know below! 💁🏽‍♀️

Review My Routine
Review My Routine
Hi!! Here is the morning routine I used today 😌 My skin type is normal thanks to consistency with products. Step 1: I cleansed my face and neck with the Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel I love it because it’s soap-free, oil-free, paraben-free, non-comedogenic, & hypoallergenic. Because it contains hyaluronic acid — which I’m obsessed with — it leaves my skin feeling so fresh, clean, and hydrated. This cleanser is a light-weight gel. The tiniest amount lathers beautifully to remove dirt, oil, makeup, etc. This cleanser really does make my skin feel hydrated. No tightness or dryness after using this. Step 2: I spritzed my face and neck with NIOD - Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist This is a mouthful, I know. It’s also referred to as SDSM. It’s essentially a face mist that prevents against damaging environmental effects & improves your skin’s hydration. It also aids with fine lines, discolouration, & dullness. Think toner but MORE amazing & beneficial. I love using this in the AM because it instantly leaves my skin feeling so refreshed and hydrated. This is best applied after cleansing and before other treatments. Step 3: While my skin was still damp from the NIOD mist, I applied the The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics I love HA so much and when I read about this in one of @Mallory‘s posts I had to try it. Only having used it twice (this morning and tonight) I’m already obsessed! It’s more watery than The Ordinary’s HA + B5 but works in the same way by attracting and holding water and therefore hydrating your skin. The marine hyaluronics are lighter than HA and has a lower viscosity. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling tacky. It makes your skin feel hydrated & lovely. Step 5: I adore vitamin C and having glowy skin, and the REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream is the perfect product for that. While I do love other vitamin C products, I love how quick and easy this is to apply. This is a gel cream and I generally apply 1 pump to my finger tips and apply it onto my face and neck. This leaves your skin looking radiant & bright. Not only is it super hydrating, it also neutralizes pollutants. I love how is absorbs into my skin, making it feel soft & hydrated. Step 6: Next I apply the BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream I am obsessed with this eye cream. I find it blends nicely, makes my under-eyes feel hydrated, and smoothes out my skin which makes the application of my concealer look so nice. Step 7: I use my favourite moisturizer,Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream on my face and neck. It makes my skin feel so hydrated and soft :) Step 8: Lastly, sunscreen: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50 This is amazing! No white cast and leaves a lovely glow :) ❤️🤍 -Stacy
