Suede Shade Liquid Eye Shadow
What It IsVelvety-matte but never flat! Subtle iridescent pearls add a hidden lift to the formula’s matte finish, without adding shine. The effect is a mega-impactful matte finish that wears beautifully alone or paired with Stila’s other shimmer or glitter eye shadows. The long-wearing, pigment-packed color glides on smooth with a lightweight, refreshing feel.
$18 Stila Suede Shade Liquid Shadow Dupe
2020 is my year of eyeshadow and I’ve been having so much fun trying different eyeshadows. Since I’m not the best at blending or executing intricate eye looks, I’ve found myself gravitating towards liquid eyeshadows since they easy to blend and do not require a lot of expertise. Stila’s Suede Shade liquid eyeshadows ($24) have become so popular and it’s not hard to see why. They’re super pigmented, long-lasting and stunning once applied. My favorite shade to play around with is Starlight, which is a gorgeous gold that can either be worn by itself to create a bronzey look or added on top for a high-intensity shine. Another eyeshadow I’ve been playing with recently is Glossier’s Lidstar in Moon ($18), which offers a similar golden hue. Glossier’s version isn’t as pigmented and slightly more iridescent, but a worthy dupe if you’re looking to save a little. You’re in good hands regardless of which you choose. I wore both shades on my lids on their own (usually I’ll add some bronzer to my crease for some definition and contour then apply the gold shade on top.)
Eyeshadow Comparison: Liquid vs. Powder
I am the worst when it comes to eyeshadow and always looking for products and palettes that will make my time in front of the mirror super simple and stress-free. This used to be the case with my Maybelline Nudes palette, which is comprised of universally flattering powder shades that are group together for maximum efficiency. Now, my new go-to is Stila’s Suede Shade liquid eyeshadow, which is the easiest eyeshadow product to blend. Literally, all you need is one sweep of it on your eyelid, a little blending with a brush and you’re good to go. This is a heaven-sent for those of us that have no idea how to cut a crease or blend together different shades.

6 Skincare Tips from a Celebrity EstheticianIt’s been eight weeks since COVID-19 has caused us to shelter in place with the goal of putting an end to the novel coronavirus. While social distancing is playing an essential role in our health, the same can’t be said for our beauty routines. For beauty buffs, the lockdown has meant an abrupt halt to our routine visits to our facialists, dermatologists, and everything in between. What’s more, staying indoors has limited our exposure to vitamin D (which our skin needs to thrive), heeded unhealthy eating habits (which can wrack havoc on our skin), and turned us all into our very own (albeit mildly inexperienced) esthetician. To ensure our skin and well-being is taken care of during such a confusing time, we tapped into celebrity esthetician Renée Rouleau. Below, she’s sharing six self-care tips to practice as you social distance.May 20
