Empty: Farmacy Honeymoon Glow
I purchased Farmacy Honeymoon Glow in May and finished it in December, using it three times per week, with occasional breaks prior to travel when I knew I’d have a lot of sun exposure. I purchased this product because I had heard so many good things, and I love how chemical exfoliators keep my oily, acne-prone skin clear. The brand claims that this overnight serum resurfaces, hydrates, and clarifies. With a 14% blend of AHA, BHA, and gentle flower acids, this serum is quite potent and does cause tingling. Having used The Ordinary glycolic toner pretty regularly prior to using this product, I did not have any problems incorporating it into my routine. It’s one of the few products that made me notice a difference in my skin immediately (well, the next morning!). I could not believe how glowy and refreshed my skin looked. Over the course of use, I noticed less breakouts than usual as well. At $58, this is a fairly expensive purchase, and right now I’m rating it 4 stars due to price, given the availability of similar, cheaper formulations on the market, like the Good Molecules Overnight Exfoliator. However, I’m currently testing the Good Molecules at the moment, and if it doesn’t quite give as good results, I will happily repurchase Honeymoon Glow. I am more comfortable paying a higher price when the product lasts as long as this does.
FARMACY-Honeymoon Glow Serum
My new favorite serum!
So FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum is one of those products that I see EVERYWHERE. I’ve read countless reviews on it, and many people claim it’s their holy grail exfoliating serum. Not only does it resurface, but it also hydrates and clarifies skin... in other words, it does it all. I’ve only used this a few times, but I can already tell it lives up to the hype! For reference, my main skin concerns are acne and the texture and pigmentation left behind. This serum is great for those with these concerns. This serum has a 14% blend of lactic, glycolic, citric, and fruit acids, as well as salicylic acid from willow bark. It also contains hyaluronic acid and honey to hydrate skin and counteract any potential irritating effects from the acids. This is a night serum, given the high concentration of acids. I use tretinoin at night, but since tretinoin should NOT be combined with acids, I decided to take 2 nights off from tret every week and use this as my treatment instead. I use this after a hydrating toner and before my thick nighttime cream. The first time I used it, I noticed the *slightest* tingle, but nothing painful or uncomfortable. The product dispenses well from the pump packaging, and I find that one pump is more than enough to cover my entire face. It spreads very easily and has a slippery texture that reminds me of hyaluronic acid serums. The morning after using it, my skin just looked... good. Bright, glowy, even, and I even think some of my congestion looked cleared up. The second time I used it, I kid you not, my husband looked at me right after I got out of bed the next morning and he said “you’re glowing right now.” He had no knowledge that I used this serum because he doesn’t keep up with all my skincare, but I think that speaks to the efficacy of the product! I can’t wait to finish the bottle and continue to see results from this serum. This is $58 for 1oz, which is definitely pricey for an exfoliant. However, it’s gentler than a lot of similar products due to the honey and hyaluronic acid, and it also contains an impressive blend of acids to target different concerns. Since this is only intended to be used 2-3 times/week, I think this bottle will last me at least 3 months. I’ll definitely be open to repurchasing it because it’s such an elegant formula, it has great ingredients, and it WORKS. For these reasons, I think $58 is a fair price point. #CheriePartner

Get Glowing Skin for Beginners ✨
So you’re getting into skincare and want to get the glow? For me, glowing skin is about overall skin health. Here are the top tips I have! I have combo skin that is sensitive and acne-prone. 💛Acne Attack My skin journey began with a lot of hormonal and cystic acne so I started figuring out what to do to deal with that. I currently give credit to the following for really making a difference: ✨Retinol/Retinal These increase skin cell turnover so they are essentially acne medication. I recommend starting very slowly with these at night with a heavier moisturizer because they can be drying. These heal my breakouts faster and prevent them in the first place. ✨Vitamin C I give this lots of credit for helping with any hyperpigmentation that happens after breakouts. So incredible for acne scars and overall brightening your skin! I love to use mine during the day to fight free radicals. ✨Sunscreen The true hero of skincare. If you’re not using this, nothing else matters. I recommend Krave - The Beet Shield which also has vitamin C. ✨Double cleansing at night. Buy a cleansing balm and gently massage your face for 10 minutes. Seriously you will feel the junk leaving your pores. This helps take off makeup, sunscreen, dirt and pollutants from the day. Always do this at night before a regular water-based cleanser like Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser 💛HYDRATION I always tell people when they start, find a good cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. This is the core of skincare health. Sure the actives are great for specific concerns, but the basics can take you far too. When I’m looking for a moisturizer, I want ceramides in it. I currently alternate between these two: #FARMACY - Honey Halo Ultra-hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer[products]#[FiveStars] #CeraVe - Healing Ointment[products]#[FiveStars] The healing ointment is best for night because it is THICK and no joke but wow does it always hydrate my entire life. 💛Exfoliation Exfoliation is huge for glowing skin. I prefer chemical exfoliation because it is gentler than physical scrubs. You’ll want to look for anything with AHA, BHA or PHA. My favorite exfoliants are: FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum Dr Dennis Gross - Skincare Alpha Beta Peel Extra Strength Formula 30 Applications Honeymoon Glow has AHA as well as gentle flower acids. I find this literally does give me a glow the next morning and is great for breakouts. It can feel a bit strong so maybe start slow and work your way up. Other things that helped me: ✨I stopped drinking ✨I drink way more water now ✨Using Pink Clay masks removes impurities when needed ✨Niacinamide (I’ll use this for texture with Vitamin C and yes you can use them together safely- there’s an old belief that you can’t) ✨SUNSCREEN AGAIN 💚The key is consistency in your routine, using products that work for YOU and adjusting here and there for concerns. #CheriePartner

Exfoliating Sensitive Skin 101☀️
I have combination skin that is very sensitive and acne-prone so I need to be very careful when I exfoliate that my physical exfoliants aren’t too harsh and my chemical ones aren’t too strong. ☀️Physical exfoliants contain a rougher material like sugar or grains and when used against skin, you remove dead skin cells and reveal newer skin. Some can be too harsh and the Apricot Scrub by St Ives is an example of that. Some are so harsh they actually leave tiny cuts in the skin, leaving it prone and exposed! There are some that I like such as the Acure Blueberry Scrub and I find that is gentle enough to work for me on occasion. I only use a physical exfoliant maybe once a week and twice a week at most. It’s important to not over-exfoliate and when I do use a physical one, I prefer ones that are very gentle. One that I love is the Sand & Sky Enzyme Powder Polish which is my current favorite physical exfoliant. It’s so gentle and the ingredients are amazing for brightening and removing impurities. ☀️Chemical exfoliants are acids that get rid of dead skin that come in various concentrations. These include AHA, BHA and PHA acids. With regular usage, skin can feel smoother and look more even. It can also help with clogged pores! I love Farmacy’s Honeymoon Glow for this personally but I’ve also heard good things about the PHAT Glow Facial by Olehenrikson! The important thing is to listen to your skin and what it needs that day! Exfoliating doesn’t need to be done constantly if your skin is too sensitive for that. I’ll do it about two times a week and tend to alternate between physical and chemical exfoliants. FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum SAND&SKY - Australian Emu Apple Enzyme Powder Polish

ZO SKIN HEALTH - Daily Power Defense -...literally won’t see any difference in your skin but will feel a difference. My skin became less sensitive to the other products I used and is supposedly help to prevent further wrinkling. Although I’m not a big fan of any-wrinkle agents because I feel it’s just genetics and human biology for us to get wrinkles at the rate we are meant to. I do feel this product does help a bit with sensitivity. ZO SKIN HEALTH - Acne Control - Acne Control formerly known as Aknetrol (I believe), is still a favorite if used consistently you will see your clogged pores, milia, zits, diminish, however it is such a strong product. Meaning it can cause redness in your skin if you don’t put sunscreen on after and burning/drying if your skin isn’t used to it. If it happens just limit to once a day and/or at night if you don’t have sunscreen because trust me, it will cause redness! So this was the other product that may have led to my dryness since it’s been a few months I haven’t used it. My skin has gotten back to normal now. Kate Somerville - Kx Active Concentrates Bio-Mimicking Peptides Serum - I really only use this product because it doesn’t break me out and I still have some left. I don’t see any “firming” whatsoever but y’all know how I feel about “anti-aging” agents. Also I HATE HATE that after I put it on my skin is sticky and if I rub my face I can feel the product crumble off. 2 stars because it doesn’t break me out. Do not recommend. JUICE BEAUTY - STEM CELLULAR Anti-Wrinkle Eye Treatment - Same thing. Only use it because it doesn’t break me out. As you can see in the photo, I still have the same wrinkles and dark circles as before. The Zein Obagi product made a difference and I hope to use it again in the future to show you. FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum - I don’t use it as much as I like to as the exfoliater but I do like the way it tingles on my skin and how it looks in the morning. Brightens my skin a bit but I don’t see any “resurfacing” effects. MARIO BADESCU - Vitamin C Serum - see no difference but it lessens my sensitivity. I recommend using only 1-2 drops and build from there because it does feel greasy. A little goes a long way with this product. yesto - Activated Charcoal Bar Soap - I mainly use this for my dark-discolored armpits and it actually works! I should have shown a before and after. I’ll probably do a separate post and stop using it for a week or less to show the difference. You can see it with the first wash! I also use it on the rest of my body to brighten a bit. I recommend using this before and exfoliate in the shower because when you rub your skin you can feel how easy it is to rub that dead skin off!

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
