A healthy skin barrier can solve your problems🌱
A healthy skin barrier can solve your skin problems! 🌱 𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫? It is the outermost layer of the epidermis - stratum corneum - which functions as both a chemical and physical shield against pollutants, bacteria, irritants, etc.. A healthy skin barrier can slow down aging and even help acne heal quicker while lessening its severity. When the barrier is intact, your skin appears plump, and smooth, but when it’s compromised, skin becomes dehydrated, dull, and more prone to sun damage and irritation. Sensitivity to products, tendency to break out, acne and chronic dry skin are all signs of a weakened skin barrier. Your barrier’s health has a direct impact on how your skin looks, feels, and how it ages! 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠: 1. Over-cleansing 2. Over-exfoliating 3. Washing your face using hot water 4. Using alcohol-based toner and fragrance-containing products 5. Unprotected exposure to sun’s UV rays 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐝𝐨: ~ Hydrate continuously! A damaged epidermis requires moisture, so keeping your face and body well hydrated is critical in the fight to restore your barrier. Moisture-binding humectants such as glycerin, sorbitol, and hyaluronic acid are my favorites. ~ 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬! An occlusive ingredient provides a protective seal over the surface of the skin and is critical to prevent loss of hydration. When choosing a face moisturizer, I always look for Dimethicone. If you have dry skin, choose a moisturizer with shea butter. For extra dry skin in the body, petrolatum will be your best friend. If you want something lighter than petrolatum, go for silicone based lotions. 𝐌𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: dimethicone, glycerin, ceramides, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, oat and aloe extract. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: p.s all fragrance-free 𝐎𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧: 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐬 - ceramides, niacinamide, dimethicone, HA. affordable and effective. 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐇𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 - dimethicone based. Basic, lightweight, but does a great job. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐥 - my top recommendation for oily and sensitive skin. Wonderful for people with rosacea. Calms, hydrates, and protects skin with dimethicone, aloe extract and licorice root. 𝐃𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐧: 𝐄𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 - has panthenol and shea butter. Pretty no-nonsense. Although it has shea butter, I find this actually lightweight enough for oily skin. 𝐋𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐮𝐦𝐞 - multi-purpose soothing balm for dry skin irritations. Has glycerin, shea butter, panthenol. 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐤 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐢 - Glycerin based and combines signal peptides and amino acids. Has a long ingredients list, but overall still worked well with me. 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐱 𝐔𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 - contains Riceramide®-3 blend of plant-based ceramides, natural essential fatty acids and cholesterol, combined with soothing emollients and hyaluronic acid to help relieve chronically dry skin. ❣️𝐏𝐲𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐮𝐥 is a fragrance-free brand and uses a variety of root extracts and gentle ingredients to promote barrier restoration. I highly recommend the brand too! 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐝𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧: Vaseline, Aquaphor or 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (lanolin-free) 𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐀𝐯𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧- formulated with soothing oatmeal and rich emollients. Meet my Favorite K-Beauty Brand💐
𝐏𝐲𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐮𝐥 is a skincare brand launched by the renowned Pyunkang Oriental Medicine Clinic, an institution well-known for treating atopic skin disorders. Although I have not talked about them much online, Pyungkang Yul has been one of my favorite brands and I have always enjoyed most of the products they’ve offered. I like that they are using traditional ingredients and promoting a minimalist approach to skin care. Pyungkang Yul uses only the gentle, yet effective ingredients to help find the optimum balance for your skin. I have combination/oily skin and also acne-prone and here’s my top three recommendations that I think are most suitable for my skin type: Pyunkang Yul - Essence Toner ~ intensely hydrating formula designed to deliver nutrient-filled moisture to skin. Made up of 𝟗𝟏.𝟑% 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐤 𝐯𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐭 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭, full of skin-beneficial betaine and minerals. With the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, nutrient-boosting properties of the root extract, this gel-type toner quickly absorbs to hydrate and strengthen skin. ~ LOVE THIS. It has added so much hydration and moisture to my skin. I don’t use toner regularly but it’s a nice product to give your skin an extra oomph when it needs it. This is very gentle and works without causing irritation and disrupting the skin barrier. Other serums and moisturizers layer on top of this beautifully. It feels very balancing, anti-inflammatory and hydrating; all with so few natural ingredients. This literally makes my skin feel cool and calmed. Even better when stored in the fridge so it’s even more refreshing on irritated or hot skin. I highly recommend it! Pyunkang Yul - Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream ~ enriched with 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐬 𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 for an intensive, everyday treat for your skin. Creamy and rich, this luxurious formula is buttery smooth without being heavy or greasy, absorbing quickly into your skin and leaving it hydrated and bouncy. ~ This was a skin saver when I was starting with Tretinoin and was experiencing dryness in the first few weeks. But still enjoy using it until now. The cream is very moisturizing but not too heavy which makes it still tolerable for oily skin. The texture is silky smooth which is a pleasure to apply and massage onto the face. This does not leave my skin oily or greasy -- it leaves a slight glow when you first apply it but sinks in beautifully overnight. Pyunkang Yul - Peeling Gel ~ moisturizing peeling gel that gently exfoliates and boosts skin moisture with 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭 to promote radiance. ~ Absolutely love this. I try to use it every now and then to just kind of get rid of extra dead skin cells and excess oil. I apply on dry skin, leave it on for about 2 minutes and start gently massaging it. The product gently catches dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Easy to use and you see the results right away. The value is a big plus. It’s very affordable at $14.99 compared to my other favorite, The Cure Aqua Gel. It smells a little bit medicinal but not irritatingly so. Definitely worth a try for oily, acne-prone gals like me!
Pyunkang Yul- Essence Toner
For the life of me, I cannot find a decent skincare routine to fix... whatever this is! I have no clue what’s going here and I’m a beginner in skincare. I use the same products for AM and PM: AM: 1. Toner Pyunkang Yul - Mist Toner 2. Moisturizer, however it’s called “Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Lotion” Is it normal to only use two things??? PM: 1. Cleaner YVES ROCHER - Soothing cleansing milk Cleans my skin 2. Toner Pyunkang Yul - Mist Toner 3. Cream (???) - Kiehl’s - Centella Recovery Skin-Salve or I which with COSRX - Hydrium Centella Aqua Soothing Ampoule 40ml (ni clue how this works??? 4. Moisturizer (the same) TL;DR I have no idea what’s wrong with my skin or how to fix it :(

7 Skins Newbie
I’m new to 7 Skins and started with these products: Love this Pyunkang Yul - Mist Toner for its hydration. My skin just soaks it up. After cleansing I use 3 layers of the mist toner then put the The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics while it’s still wet. Then I use two more layers of the mist toner before finishing with the COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence which I have posted about by itself for its amazing hydration and skin softening effects. Loving it so far. Any toners or essences I should add to my 7 Skins routine??
