Super Ingredient: Niacinamide 🦾
Super Ingredient: Niacinamide 🦾
Super Ingredient: Niacinamide 🦾 So what exactly is it? Accoriding to healthline.com, “Niacinamide, also called nicotinamide, is a form of vitamin B-3, an essential nutrient… And there’s much more to this nutrient, especially when it comes to general skin health. Although more research is needed, topical niacinamide may help treat certain skin conditions, including acne and eczema.” 🦋 Benefits of Niacinamide: - Can help your skin grow a lipid barrier - Minimizes redness and blotchiness - Minimizes pore appearance - Minimizes fine lines & wrinkles (great retinol alternative!) - Regulates oil - Protects against sun damage - Treats hyperpigmentation Whew! Thats a lot 😅 but it’s no wonder this ingredient has been gaining more notoriety this year. With so many benefits, Niacinamide has quickly become a skincare staple for many people, including myself! 💝 I typically use this in the morning along with my Hyaluronic Acid: - I start by washing my face with a gentle cleanser; my favorite recently is the HONEST - Calm On Foaming Cream Cleanser Next, I pat my face dry and pat in my HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Toner I quickly go in with my The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% , let that dry down a bit, and apply my The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 after. Lastly, I use my CANNUKA - Harmonizing Face Cream & BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 PA +++ Since using this specific product, I have noticed brighter skin, less irritation from my eczema, plumper skin, and less hyperpigmentation. Due to my skin sensitivity, I have been weary of using retinol & Niacinamide along with Hyalaurnic Acid has worked wonders for my skin. I use this specifically to target my lipid barrier and large pores; I’m on my second bottle since April and my skin had made major improvements! Prior to using it, I was experiencing major sensitivity & dryness (especially in the morning). I quickly learned that i had a damaged lipid barrier and this serum helped to treat those issues and provided amazing results. 🌟 What super ingredient have you been using lately? #CheriePartner https://www.healthline.com/health/beauty-skin-care/niacinamide#topical-vs.-dietary

My acne journey through birth control
My acne journey through birth control
In my first pic that was my face before I started birth control, pretty clear, occasional pimple here and there. But then i started the pill for my terrible periods and i started breaking out like crazy. Bumps all over my forehead and chin as you can see in the second and third pic. I’ve started to update skin routine a little and the 4th pic is where i’m at now. any tips anyone has would be great! this is my skin care routine now AM CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser i started using this and i think it helped my bumps a lot. I have seen some improvement. HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray i like this product i think it helps hydrate my skin. It also helped with my oily skin too. When i run out of the spray i’m going to use the HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Toner for the hyaluronic acid. so if anyone has any experience with this product let me know! THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream Helps with my puffy eyes! Seen some improvement with my eye bags over time! CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin This is a basic moisturizer and i like it. i have oily skin and i like how lightweight it is. I also like the added ceramides for my skin barrier. PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block i think the green level sun screen makes me pretty greasy. The comfy water sunblock is way better for my oily skin, i just have to rub it in longer since it is a mineral sunscreen. PM - Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil i like this cleansing oil it gets off my sunscreen and mascara well. it doesn’t leave a greasy residue when i wash it off either. I love to try new products lol so when i finish this i might try THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm or BIODERMA - Atoderm Shower Oil(i know this says shower oil but on amazon it says cleansing oil, shower oil, many purposes and the reviews say it takes their makeup and sunscreen off really well) so once again if anyone has used these products let me know how they were! CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Pretty basic i like it. Really no complaints or anything that sticks out about this product that i LOVE LOVE. When i finish this i might try LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Purifying Foaming CleanserLet me know if anyone has used this and their experience with it! Nizoral - Anti Dandruff Shampoo i use this as a face mask for about 5 mins. i don’t use this every night, i maybe use this 2-3 times a night. Kinda burns but i feel it works DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel really just did not work on my skin, i haven’t seen much improvement because of this. i’ve been using this for 2 months THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin

Which Is the Best Rose Toner?
Which Is the Best Rose Toner?
Earlier this year I was looking for a new toner and the Heritage Store Rosewater Facial Toner as well as Fresh’s Rose Deep Hydration Toner were on my list. Both toners have rosewater and hyaluronic acid as key ingredients, so I was curious how they compared given their contrast in price ($11 vs $45). HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Toner I’m already a huge fan of Heritage Store’s rosewater spray, and I knew this toner had a bit of a cult following, so I was excited to try it out! I found it to be gentle and give my skin a good amount of hydration. The consistency is pretty watery and the rose smell is subtle, but there. I think if you’re looking for a toner without a lot of frills, this is a solid and affordable choice. fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner I know every beauty guru swears by this toner, so obviously I was intrigued. I always found it hard to justify the $45 price tag for just a toner, but I finally decided to give in and buy their mini version (which was still $25). I’ve been using it for a month now and I can firmly say I get the hype behind it! As soon as I applied it I was like “Oh...” It’s definitely a little more viscous than the Heritage Store, with a stronger rose scent, probably from the rose petals in the bottle. There’s something about the way it goes on the makes my skin feel super smooth, and they weren’t lying calling it “deep hydration,” yet it somehow wasn’t too heavy for my oily skin. You are definitely paying for a more luxurious feeling, which I think better justifies the price. I think if you’re interested in a rosewater toner and are more on a budget, the Heritage Store toner is a good option. If you are willing to spend more money, are already considering the Fresh toner, or want to see what else is out there, I think the Fresh rose toner is a good investment. I would suggest starting with the mini size to see if it’s something you’d want to use long term. Let me know if you’ve tried either of these toners, and what your experience was. xoxo 🌹✨💦

DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner THAYERS - Witch Hazel Astringent ⭐️What is Witch Hazel? Witch Hazel is the definition of short term results with long term problems. As a natural and incredibly effective astringent Witch Hazel, like many traditional toners, seeks to remove excess sebum and oil by drying out the skin - giving the look of “shrunk pores.” Many alcohols serve as a stronger form of an astringent, performing many of the same tasks and serving as a delivery agent to penetrate the skin barrier. ⚠️Not all alcohols work in the same damaging ways (e.g. Cetyl Alcohol) so don’t assume that because a product says “alcohol free” it is any good ⭐️ But Witch Hazel Gives my Skin Good Results - People with oily acne-prone skin tend to reach for Witch Hazel to get rid of the excess oil and build up that cause acne. The problem is that oiliness is the result of skin imbalance and a dehydrated skin barrier. To make up for the skin’s lack of hydration, the skin excretes oils. Our dry skin peeps lack hydration as well, but their skin reacts differently or may not be capable of excreting the necessary/excess oils - 🧴That’s why regardless of your skin type, you need to moisturize everyday! Moisturizer nourishes and feeds skin the ingredients it needs to repair itself and stay healthy! 🍜 - If you use Witch Hazel, you may like and notice how it has a matifying effect and tightens the skin instantaneously⚡️As satisfying as these quick results are, they are signs of dehydration and damage the skin over time, making skin more susceptible to sun damage, and contributing to premature aging☀️ ⭐️ Is this the End of Toners for Me? - Of course not, the market is full of hydrating, nourishing, and soothing toners that can even be layered a few times on the skin for added protection (look at the 7 skin method) ⚠️Toners are never meant to be a cleansing step. If you have residue on your face after cleansing, then your cleansing routine needs to be improved Great products to explore: dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner Benton - Deep Green Tea Toner HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Toner PURITO - Centella Green Level Calming Toner ETUDE - SoonJung pH 5.5 Relief Toner - Toners are a wonderful way to introduce actives or exfoliating ingredients into your routine. 🧪Introducing active ingredients in small percentages onto the skin, helps prevent reactions and irritations when using higher concentrations! Toning More Than Once?! Yes from LABeautyologist
Toning More Than Once?! Yes from LABeautyologist
Typically, toning is just one of the steps in a skincare routine, in between cleansing and moisturizing. That’s all fine and dandy, but esthetician LABeautyologist, has brought something to our attention that should enhance our skincare routines even more! Toning between every step! This makes sense, as long as your toner serves only the purpose of hydrating. NO exfoliating or drying actives. Witch hazel does not have a seat at THIS table 😜 Using a hydrating toner between every step allows for better absorption of the actives, as the skin becomes more penetrable. To make sure you’re not wiping off any of the previous product, make sure you gently pat the toner in the skin instead of aggressively rubbing it in 😉✨ Something like the alcohol-free HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Toner is a great option. Its 🔑 ingredients are hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, hydro essential rose. It calms my skin and leaves it feeling soft. I personally don’t do many of these skincare steps myself, as I’m trying to embody the less-is-more approach, and my skin isn’t as “problematic” anymore. However, I tone twice in my 4-6 step skincare routine. In between cleansing and applying on serum, and before applying on oil. The absorption really feels different, and there’s no “sticky” feeling that I’d get from applying the oil on dryer skin. Have you tried this method before?
