Do you need water or oil?Dry vs dehydrated skin⬇
People often become confused about what their skin needs. Today I'm going to breakdown the difference between dehydrated and dry skin and what you should be using to combat these issues. Dehydrated skin Dehydrated skin is a skin condition which lacks water, due to the environment we live in, incorrect product usage and internal factors like diet. Dry skin Dry skin is a skin type and has a lack of oil, and this can be due to genetics, diet and lifestyle. ✨Dehydrated skins need water-based products and humectants like hyaluronic acid. Avoid harsh exfoliates and the overuse of active, stimulating products that may be stripping your skin's barrier. Top hydrating serums SkinMedica - Ha5 Hydrating Complex #Forget beauty - Awakened hydrating serum[products]#[FiveStars] #Dermaquest - Essential b5 serum[products]#[FiveStars] Always apply hyaluronic acid to damp skin to prevent moisture being pulled from your skin, especially if you live in a dry climate. ✨If your skin is dry, try adding oil/lipids to your skin regimen as your moisturiser alone will not cut it. Favourite oils #Forget Beauty - Nurtured replenishing oil[products]#[FiveStars] #Rhonda Alison - Omega 6 EFA[products]#[FiveStars] #Indie lee - Squalane Facial oil[products]#[FiveStars] Everyone should be using a Ph balanced cleanser to prevent dehydration and skin dryness, plus many other skin issues. Invest in a Ph balanced cleanser.

Wanting to add one more serum to my routine
Wanting to add one more serum to my routine
Need some recommendations for a new serum to add. My main concerns are acne, barrier restoration, and hyperpigmentation. My skin is doing better since starting this routine about 2 months ago. Just thinking it’s time to add another product. If anyone has recommendations that’d be great, something affordable I’d preferred and I love the ordinary

Best Dermstore Buys - Sensitive Skin w/ Acne
Best Dermstore Buys - Sensitive Skin w/ Acne
These items are perfect for combination sensitive skin with acne! I recommend using the BHA Paula’s Choice toner in a SEPARATE routine from the vitamin c serum/gel and the 0.3% retinol, as the combination of these could be irritating to some. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator is my favorite treatment for my mild acne - it keeps things at bay without totally stripping my skin and being too harsh (it is key to not layer up on too many harsh products as they will just irritate the acne more: redness, flaking, etc) TheSKINCEUTICALS - Phloretin CF Prevent Serum Antioxidant Treatment vitamin C gel is the only form of vitamin C that DOESN’T cause me to breakout! This is a MUST have for acne prone skin that wishes to incorporate a vitamin c into their routine. While I have been struggling with breakouts recently, my skin also has some pretty dry spots which is why I love SkinMedica - Ha5 Hydrating Complex for daily use (perfect for ALL skin types!) and Avène - Tolérance Extrême Cream for when my face is extremely dry (this is great for sensitive skin and dry skin - with the added benefit that it will not cause breakouts). I am in my mid-twenties and wanted to start using retinol sparringly in my routine while also being mindful of my somewhat sensitive skin, that is why SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.3 is the only retinol product I recommend to frist-time/young retinol users! Let your skin get used to the product by only using it 2-3x a week at first. Once your skin is used to the retinol, you can slowly increase the % over months, or years. Sunscreen is the MOST important thing in a skincare routine (in my opinion), and for sensitive skin elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 is a great choice! This sunscreen can truly be used for all skin types regardless of sensitivity.
