UnScrub-by dub dub!
PAULA'S CHOICE - The UnScrub 4 fl. oz The UnScrub is a physical exfoliation I never knew was possible. I have combo/acne prone skin which means I have to exfoliate all the time. I love chemical exfoliators and usually shy away from most physical exfoliators. I am a believer in using both and this one does not disappoint. 🖤 It uses jojoba beads to exfoliate and they dissolve while applying on the face/neck in circular motions. Super gentle on the skin and feels super silky right after without stripping the skin at all. ❤️ You can easily use this as a daily cleanser because it isn’t harsh. I use it mainly before shaving and post shaving when I can’t use any chemical exfoliator that will burn my recently shaved skin. 💯

today I wanna highlight my three favorite cleansers! fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash — key ingredients: amino acids, rosewater, cucumber — claims: removes dirt and makeup without stripping the skin, soothes and softens — price: $38 for 5.1oz — my thoughts: I love the cucumber scent a lot and that’s why I gave it “most refreshing”! I think it’s very light and nice, non irritating. Price is good, although I don’t use it to remove my makeup like most people say online. I like using this as a second cleanse to ensure that all my makeup is off! Hasn’t broken me out, doesn’t irritate my eyes, and has lots of good ingredients. Non drying, kind of slippery though. This one was a gift! HOLI FROG - Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash — key ingredients: amino acids, water lily root, lotus, algae, panthenol — claims: calms inflammation and also hydrates, renews skin — price: $38 for 5oz — my thoughts: has a ph of 5, no fragrance, and is SO soothing. It’s so hydrating on the skin, which is why I gave it “most soothing.” Can be used as a first cleanse but I always use it as a second cleanse at night or a quick cleanse in the morning. Sometimes I leave this on for 3-5 minutes as a flash mask? It’s one of the only cleansers I can use in the mornings and it never dries my skin or strips it. I think it’s worth the money for sure. PAULA'S CHOICE - The UnScrub 4 fl. oz — key ingredients: jojoba beads, peel extract — claims: gentle, exfoliates away sunscreen and makeup, beads are biodegradable — price: $29 for 4oz — my thoughts: a lovely first cleanse at night, I’m surprised that this is as gentle as it is. I gave it “gentlest exfoliant” because I have never used a physical exfoliant as luxurious and gentle as this. The beads emulsify quickly and aren’t scratchy or rough, the liquid part of the cleanser is soothing and not fragranced. Softly buffs away my sunscreen and makeup, although has a hard time with waterproof eye makeup! I use this 1x a week, though if you aren’t using lots of chemical exfoliants you could use every day probably!

6 Skincare Tips from a Celebrity EstheticianIt’s been eight weeks since COVID-19 has caused us to shelter in place with the goal of putting an end to the novel coronavirus. While social distancing is playing an essential role in our health, the same can’t be said for our beauty routines. For beauty buffs, the lockdown has meant an abrupt halt to our routine visits to our facialists, dermatologists, and everything in between. What’s more, staying indoors has limited our exposure to vitamin D (which our skin needs to thrive), heeded unhealthy eating habits (which can wrack havoc on our skin), and turned us all into our very own (albeit mildly inexperienced) esthetician. To ensure our skin and well-being is taken care of during such a confusing time, we tapped into celebrity esthetician Renée Rouleau. Below, she’s sharing six self-care tips to practice as you social distance.May 20
