My Acne Journey (Long Story)
Hi there! My name is Chelle, and like I’m sure many of you have dealt with, I have been in a battle with acne since I was a teenager. It’s been the bane of my existence and a constant thwart to my self-confidence. About 4 years ago, I started using Curology - Curology formula which, at first, worked absolute wonders! They prescribed to me a formula with azelaic acid, and for about 3 years, I felt like I had conquered and controlled my acne issues. Of course, I still had the scars and enlarged pores, but no new breakouts or cysts. I was incredibly satisfied and for once in my life, I had gained some the self-confidence that I never had growing up. I even enjoyed not having to wear as much makeup. However, a couple months before my wedding last year, I started noticing some acne beginning to consistently form in my chin area. I at first attributed to pre-wedding stress (which honestly didn’t make much sense because I actually didn’t do all my wedding planning). But even after the wedding, the breakouts continued to worsen. I reached out to Curology and they switched my prescription to the more aggressive tretinoin. It helped to control it somewhat, but unlike before, new breakouts would surface every week. So with that being said, I’m going back to square one with my acne journey. I’ll using Cherie as a journal to document my successes and failures as I try to, again, get the zits under control. I happily welcome recommendations and feedback! I am by no means a skin or beauty expert, but my hope is that my journey will somewhat encourage another individual that they’re not alone in this battle! Here are the list of products that I am currently using. I’ll do reviews of them as I go! I want to build a skin care routine, any advice?
My skin is oily and I have a bit of hyperpigmentation around my mouth. My pores are not very large but are still visible and I have a few dark spots. These are few problems but I would like to correct them to the best of my ability. I’m currently using the Bioré - Deep Pore Charcoal Cleansermorning and night and the Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer 50ml as a moisturizer. I then spray on Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Face Mist Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 55and call it a day. After a bit of research I found that a good skin care routine goes cleanse -> tone -> serum -> moisturizer-> sun screen. If anybody is willing and able to help me chose the right products to help my skin glow to its full abilities it would be greatly appreciated! *Also if you guys know any good face masks and a good oil cleaner to double cleanse at nights that would be really cool too!!! ☺️💖

baby’s first skincare routine
taking advantage of quarantine to finally put together a grown-up skincare routine! i have oily skin and recurring acne, so i’m still trying to figure out how to curb breakouts. anybody else like these products? or have any other recommendations? 💕 • CLEANSER • CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser this just feels good to put on. silky smooth, clean, refreshing. GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover i only use this when i’ve been wearing makeup, which hasn’t been much lately, but it does the trick. it’s also good for when i feel like double cleansing at night. • TONER • THAYERS - Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel Facial Toner love this for helping minimize my pores. sometimes i swab it on mid-day if my skin is feeling extra oily. • ACNE TREATMENT • Neutrogena - On-the-Spot, Acne Treatment i’ve been using this for a million years and it’s great for getting acne to disappear as quickly as possible. just an awesome little spot treatment. Clearasil - Rapid Rescue Deep Treatment Wash this is a nighttime acne wash and it seems to work pretty well. it does have an intense chemical smell, which isn’t my favorite. • MOISTURIZER • Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer 50ml i love this stuff. my roommate thinks it’s an alien serum since it’s so pretty and blue. putting this on at night just makes my skin feel so hydrated and fancy. plus, it’s super light, which is a godsend for oily skin. Neutrogena - Facial Moisturizer i put this on in the morning because i know i need some spf, but it still leaves me feeling oily even though there’s no oil in it! still hunting for an spf moisturizer that doesn’t smell so sunscreen-y and feel heavy in my skin.
Neutrogena- On-the-Spot, Acne Treatment
Today I got these two products in and I am eager to try. If anyone has used them i would love to hear your thoughts on them and the way you use them! I’ll be using them tonight for my night routine and I’ll update my thoughts in The morning! 🧚🏼✨ I got them both from CVS and i used $13 in extra bucks plus my employee discount so my total came out to be around $9 for both! Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer 50ml CVS pharmacy - Clear Zinc Sun Lotion SPF 50
CVS pharmacy-Clear Zinc Sun Lotion SPF 50
This product is really good and I recommend it. I like to use it after I get out of the shower because it tends to work best for me. This water gel is so refreshing and keeps your skin looking smooth, supple, and very hydrated.
