MYTHS ABOUT HYALURONIC ACID
Today I’m going to talk about hyaluronic acid. It’s one of my favorite skincare ingredients ever and I hate seeing so many myths about it! Today I’m going to bust two major myths I keep seeing about hyaluronic acid. ✖️MYTH ONE:✖️ You can ONLY apply this to damp skin for it to work. 💧I see a lot of people posting about the idea that you can only apply hyaluronic acid to damp skin so it can ‘grab’ the water on the skin and bring it to the deeper layers for hydration. 💧The thing is, this isn’t true. When you look at your hyaluronic acid product formula, the first ingredient 100% of the time is going to be some form of water. Whether that’s mineral water, infused water, glacier water, whatever—it’s still water, which the hyaluronic acid can grab and take into the skin with it. If you prefer to apply your HA this way, that’s fine—just be aware that it’s not a hard and fast rule. HA works just as well when applied to just-dried skin as it does on damp skin. ✖️MYTH TWO:✖️ Hyaluronic Acid can actually dehydrate the skin 💧People think that hyaluronic acid can secretly dehydrate your skin if you live in a dry environment. What’s the truth? Well, it’s true that HA relies a lot on grabbing water from the air in a humid environment. 💧However, studies have shown that it also takes moisture from the deeper layers in the skin—specifically from the moisture in our blood. So, the truth is that HA takes moisture from two sources—the environment and our bodies. However, it’s ALWAYS a good idea to ‘lock in’ HA with a thicker moisturizing product to ensure that it’s keeping hydration where it should be—in your skin! 💧Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium Review 💧HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion This is the thicker, richer, more hydrating version of my absolute favorite Hada Labo Gokujyun (the regular, runny version). have a full review of this on my blog, but I’ll put a short version here. For my oily skin, I can only use this as a hydrating serum—not a runny lotion that I can use the 7 skin methods for. For oily skin, I would recommend the regular Gokujyun lotion over this. HADALABO - Rohto Hadalabo Gokujun Hyaluronic Lotion Moist The Premium lotion was just too rich to use for the 7 skin method, and actually clogged my pores a little bit when I tried to use it that way.

My Night Routine for Fall 🍁🤎🧡
As the temperatures start to drop, my routine is all about protecting my moisture barrier, (especially seeing my skin was destroyed last winter!) This will probably be similar to my winter night routine as well! 1. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser I’ll do an individual post about this, but this was a sample and I’m not feeling it. It doesn’t emulsify well, which causes it’s removal of makeup to be horrible. I have to really rub my eye makeup off with this. Prefer the Pharmacy balm which I’ll switch back to. 2. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser My holy grail cleanser! Cleanses my skin perfectly without stripping it! Perfect drugstore cleanser for dry skin. 3. HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion Perfect essence with multiple forms of hyaluronic acid that hydrates my skin and keep it soft. I apply it to my damp skin (immediately after cleansing) and tap it in. 4. THE inkey LIST - Squalane Oil Adding a squalane oil to my skin has been a LIFESAVER in protecting against dryness. My only complaint with this Inkey List squalane oil is how friggin small the bottle is! 5. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum My absolute favorite chemical exfoliator ever! Literally zaps my breakouts, fine lines, and dry spots overnight! I use it 3x a week and as a spot treatment. 6.DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream There is no such thing as a moisturizer that is “too heavy” for me when it’s cold. This is an incredibly rich, creamy moisturizer. 7. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil I added this oil for added moisturizer and for its benefits in reducing hyperpigmentation. I’m starting to see a slight notice in decreased hyperpigmentation and it definitely keeps my skin soft! Im surprised people complain of the smell! I love it! Let me know your thoughts about my routine! My daytime routine coming soon! ✨

Top 2020 Products
2020 was the year I officially got into skincare. These three skincare products that dramatically changed my skin for the better, and for that, I rate them my best products for 2020. 1. HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion : This milky essence contains 5 kinds of HA of different molecular weights along with nourishing algae extracts. The results? Incredibly plump, soft skin. Not only is this essence great for harsh winters that compromise the barrier, but it’s great for summer when skin dehydrated and producing more oil than usual. You can’t beat the price at 15.99!! 2. THE inkey LIST - Kaolin Clay Mask : A kaolin mask that effectively absorbs excess oil AND has nourishing plant extracts so it doesn’t dry out your skin. For only 6.99!! 3. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum : It’s no secret that I am a huge Drunk Elephant fan. Yet out of all of their products, this is the one that to me is worth the hefty price tag of $90 for an ounce. This gel-based serum is a chemical exfoliator that contains 12% AHA and 2% BHA. It’s incredibly gentle yet super powerful as it zaps dry spots, uneven texture, whiteheads, blackheads, and major breakouts. It is the perfect spot treatment for any breakout. The immediate second I experience a breakout, I put this on and the next day my breakout is either completely done or dramatically reduced in size. While I would like to try cheaper exfoliators, this one is golden for me. What are your top 2020 products? My worst products of 2020 coming tomorrow!!

WHY I LOVE TONER
I LOVE TONERS. Here’s the thing about toner - it’s a complete MYTH that you need one for the purposes of rebalancing the pH of skin after washing your face. That’s ancient advice (marketing, really) from when pH-balanced liquid facial cleansers hadn’t been invented yet and people used alkaline soap bars to cleanse their faces. Toners these days serve different purposes, but the two most common categories I see are exfoliating toners and hydrating toners. Today, I’m going to talk about my favourite type - hydrating ones. I started using a hydrating toner about six years ago and I haven’t looked back. In fact, I still use the same brand today - Hada Labo. My skin is oily, but around six years ago I started using Differin for my acne. The side effects of this include skin that dehydrates easily, so I needed to start using a product that helped that. My research pointed me to Hada Labo toners, and the first one I tried was the Hada Labo Shirojyun Toner. To use a hydrating toner like this, all you need to do is pat in a small amount until fully absorbed. If you want to, you can use it for the ‘7 Skins Method’ a method where you pat in 7 layers of toner. It’s easy to do because toners are usually very watery products. This is my favourite thing about toner - the bottles are larger and you can pat in more layers of products, so they’re MORE effective and better value than applying a single layer of hydrating serum. Right now I’m trialling the Mizon toner and I actually don’t like it that much - it’s just ok. Same with the Hada Labo Premium Gokujyun Toner. I love the Isntree Toner, it's the most like the original Hada Labo toners that I've tried Do you use hydrating toners? The serum have great ingredients that benefit your skin. Overall this serum is great and affordable. I'm from - Rice Toner This rice toner helps to brighten up my complexion. Helps to clear my dark spots from my acne. There is no scent to this toner. I use it with a cotton pad and rub it around my face. It helps my skin glow from within and I love a nice glass skin. With this toner is really helps to achieve that healthy skin look. HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion I am super impressive with this product. This product really helps penetrate the moister into my skin. It feels like my skin was dip into heaven. The texture is not too thick and not to thin, just right to apply onto the skin. This works best when I am out of the shower and apply this instantly. My face be glowing like a goddess. I highly recommend this product for everyone, even for people who have sensitive skin. My mom is picky with her skincare due to the fact that her skin is super sensitive to everything. This product on the other hand works like a miracle.
