What It DoesIt's formulated with squalane and other lipophilic esters which are gentle, moisturizing and efficient in dissolving makeup and facial impurities. These ingredients also help increase the spreadability of the product. When rubbed between your palms for 10–30 seconds, the cleanser undergoes an important textural change, taking it from a balm-like consistency to a clear oil-like consistency. This allows the emulsifying sucrose esters in the formula to trap and blend dissolved makeup and impurities.
What It IsThe Squalane Cleanser from The Ordinary is a squalane-based cleanser for gentle removal of makeup and facial impurities. This balm to oil cleanser is great for those looking for solutions for makeup removal/facial cleansing.
What Else You Need to KnowThis gentle cleansing product is formulated to target makeup removal while leaving the skin feeling smooth and moisturized.

NEW PRODUCTS = NEW ROUTINE
Hey Girl, Hey! 🧚🏼 So I said that I would updated you guys once all my products that I ordered from Ulta came in so here i am!! I started a new skin routine today and these are the products that I used in order! The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser Starting with the squalane cleanser, I used this one because I knew that I was about to do the peeling solution and i did not want to over work my skin before i did that process for the first time! I love the consistency of the cleanser as I have used oil cleansers before. It left my skin feeling very clean and moisturized. It is supposed to work really well with getting make up off but I haven’t tried that just yet. *I’ll keep y’all posted* The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution For the Peeling Solution, because it was my first time I was very cautious about using it and did a lot of research about it. I previously posted about my thoughts on this product and first impressions so if you want more information on this specifically, check it out! I will be using this again CVS pharmacy - Clear Zinc Sun Lotion SPF 50 So I got this sunscreen because I realized I needed to add one into my routine and this seemed like the perfect one due to it being a clear zinc SPF 50. It doesn’t leave a white cast and is very thick but rubs in really good. I do like the way it makes my skin feel because it doesn’t cause any unnecessary oils and goes on evenly. The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% This Vitamin C Solution wasn’t my favorite. It had a really gritty texture that eventually smoothed out once I applied other moisturizers but the texture of it was a little off putting for me. I’ll use it for like 2 weeks to see if I see any dramatic changes but as of now it’s just okay to me. I feel it may have been a little too hard for me to be using right after a peel so maybe I’ll just skip this step when I use the Peeling Solution. Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer I AM LOVINNNNNGGGGGGG THISSSSSS!!!! OMG! ❤️❤️❤️ From the smell, to the Gel consistency and the smoothing of my skin after I use it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT! It is perfect for dry skin while being light weight and not oily at all! I got mine from CVS and used a coupon to get it for $7 (Usually $23) You don’t need to use a lot so it will definitely last. I’ve been using it day and night for a few days and I will definitely be buying more. ✨‼️ The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane This i feel like added that extra moister i need after doing the peel. Didn’t see much of a difference but i will be using it in my routine because i liked the consistency. Lastly, I used my probiotic facial pray that I got from amazon! I swear by this spray. It gets rid of acne and definitely gives a refreshing feel. If you have any questions or suggestions hmu 😘💖‼️

$8-20 Budget First Cleansers
Double-cleansing is imperative if you wear makeup and/or sunscreen, which everyone should be wearing! Some folks prefer to cleanse twice with their usual cleanser, but I find it more effective to use an oil-based cleanser to melt away oil-based products. Like bonds to like! These two products make double-cleansing affordable and moisturizing, without potentially irritating essential oils or fragrance. • THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm : $9.99 USD for 150mL, or $0.07 per mL. This silky balm can get runny when warm but emulsifies easily and removes makeup and sunscreen without issue. INCI Key Notes: sweet almond oil, oat kernel oil, oat kernel flour (colloidal oatmeal), vitamin E, vitamin C, sunflower seed oil. • The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser : $7.90 USD for 50mL ($19.90 for 150mL), or $0.16 per mL ($0.13 per mL if 150mL tube). This thick balm takes a while to emulsify but leaves skin so soft and removes makeup/sunscreen well. INCI Key Notes: squalane, glycerin, esters, vitamin E. Non-comedogenic, if that’s something you look for.

IS THE BARRIER REPAIR CHALLENGE SAVING MY SKIN👀
For the first images the ones on the top were taken today September 9th and the bottom ones were taken on August 19th (3 week interval) Thoughts: I don’t know if it’s just me or my skin is actually brighter? Also it definitely is more hydrated and feels softer. I did go through a purging phase but it was just for a few days and now it seems like my skin is clearing up. As for the dark marks I don’t know if there’s a real difference and if there’s one it’s probably not significant yet. But to be honest I wasn’t targeting hyperpigmentation yet so no disappointment! And for the second images, the one on the right was taken today September 9th and the one on the left was taken on August 19th (3 week interval) Thoughts: it seems like the texture on my forehead is less apparent? And it’s definitely brighter. I got a pretty big zit but I think it’s because it’s about to be that time of the month lol. Overall I think the barrier repair challenge is really helping me so I’d recommend it to anyone. If you don’t know what that is just refer to my other posts or ask me questions I’ll be willing to answer! So here’s my current routine: Pm routine: - The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser -CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin -PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner I don’t really know what to rate it yet but so far so good -THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum -PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner(yes I apply twice) -GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum -Neutrogena oil free moisture - The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane Am routine: it’s the same without the oil at the end. I used to apply the MDSolarSciences - Mineral Crème but I completely ran out of it yesterday and I did place an order for a new sunscreen but I have yet to receive it unfortunately and now I am so paranoid I don’t want the sun to touch me at all and it’s impossible😩 Also I apply my routine on damp skin. According to some specialists it’s better for the absorption of the products. I wanted to wait until next week to start incorporating other products ( the PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliatorthat I would be using once a week at first and build up my tolerance and the ORIGINS - Out of Trouble 10 Minute Mask to Rescue Problem Skinthat I would be using only once a week too on a different day of course) but I’m thinking maybe I should start this week with the BHA solution from Paula’s choice? Let me know what y’all think!

LOVE AT FIRST (double) CLEANSE 🧼
✨your follows and cheers mean so much 💛✨ I was definitely late to the game when it comes to double cleansing, but I’m so glad I finally showed up to the party! With this duo, my face has NEVER felt so clean. ✨if you’re not familiar, it’s essentially just washing your face twice! First with an oil based cleanser and then with a water based cleanser, easy peasy! For my oil based cleanser I use The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser , I’ve already review this product before but I’ll just reiterate how much I love the texture and consistency, I love that it going on to dry skin and just melts away any dirt/ makeup/ pollution that you may have encountered throughout the day. I already loved the ordinary cleanser as a stand alone, but then I met ORIGINS - Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash . This water based cleanser is my step 2 in the double cleanse If you haven’t tried this cleanser before I 10/10 recommend. It’s a water based foaming cleanser that smells amazing, foams up so nicely and leaves your skin feeling cleeeaaaaaan. I’ll go into detail on this product a little more below 💪🏼 |PERFORMANCE| amazing! this cleanser foams up so nicely. It is super gentle, and really performs. It leaves the skin refreshed and balanced so you don’t have to worry about your skin feeling dry afterwards and I found it really controlled my oily t zone. 🤲🏻 |TEXTURE| I like to apply this product with a cleansing brush (I use the CALA - DUAL-ACTION FACIAL CLEANSING BRUSH (MINT)) it’s a thick cream like texture that glides on and foams quickly ones applied to wet skin. I also love that it’s got like a pearly irradescent colour to it💛. 👃🏻|SCENT| there is a super mild mint scent derived from essential oils. Personally I love it, I just feel like it even smells clean.. you know?! It’s totally inoffensive, and really enhances the cleanse experience 💦 |INGREDIENTS| ✨mint is one of they key ingredients in this cleanser that helps reinvigorate the skins appearance. ✨Alongside broad leaf kelp extract that reduce oil, while wheat proteins moisturize the skin. ✨ Origins products are formulated without Parabens, phthalate, sodium lauryl sulfate, propylene glycol, DEA, mineral oil, petrolatum, paraffin, polyethylene beads, formaldehyde or animals ingredients (excluding cruelty free honey and beeswax). 💸 |VALUE| checks and balances goes for $32 for a 150ml bottle CAD. Considering how little you need, I think this product has really great value. A bottle would definitely last you a couple of months, I currently use it twice a day and have barely put a dent in my bottle. Also with the other ordinary cleanser only costing like $20 for a big bottle you can get this kickass duo for just over $50, sounds good to me 😎 Anyone have a duo they can’t live without ?!

cleansers for sensitive & reactive skin
✨Cream cleansers for sensitive and reactive skin✨ I love gentle, hydrating cleansers and I can’t live without them! Whenever my skin is feeling reactive or overly sensitized, I immediately switch to one of these cleansers since they won’t strip or cause irritations to my skin. These are my top recommendations that will work for most skin types. ▶️ LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser - pretty basic straightforward hydrating and lightweight milky cream cleanser that contains ceramide-3, niacinamide, glycerin, and LRP’s thermal water to give your skin a clean slate without disrupting your moisture barrier. It’s one of my favorites that’s affordable since it’s only 15$ for 13.5 oz and it’s easily accessible at most drugstores. ▶️PAULA'S CHOICE - Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser - a newly discovered silky and lush cleansing cream that soothes and replenishes my skin post cleanse. This has quite a thick texture but it adheres well to my skin as I massage it around. It quickly melts away any oil, dirt, and sunscreen from my day while leaving my skin feeling so soft and supple afterwards. It’s fairly priced at 19$ for 6.4oz but I wish they still sold the jumbo size which was a better deal at 26$ for 11.3 oz. ▶️ stratia - Velvet Cleansing Milk - my most favorite out of all of these. This is slightly more lightweight than the PC one with its rich, emollient, and velvety cream texture. It contains olive oil esters, rice bran oil, glycerin, allantoin, chamomile, and aloe to provide the skin with a thorough yet soothing cleanse without causing any damage to the skin barrier. This one is the most expensive out of the bunch at 28$ for 8oz but it’s well worth it for how it makes my skin feel during and post cleanse. ▶️ The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser - another great gentle cleanser that uses squalane and lipophilic esters to dissolve away makeup and facial impurities. This has a really thick creamy texture that takes a bit of effort to massage into the skin but it melts away almost everything. The only problem I had with this one was that I ended up having to use a lot of product. It’s not the cheapest but still decently affordable at 19.90$ for 5oz.

Products that personally changed my life! 🙌🏼
Sooooooo, I went through a rough time earlier this year with my skin - and I was consistently breaking out with large, sore, cystic pimples on mainly my forehead and my chin - and when I say consistently, I mean consistently - I could never catch a break from them, every week there was a new one or two 😩 I was previously using Skinstitut and I just didn’t feel like the products were working how I wanted them to, they were making my T-zone oily etc, but I won’t get into that here - I have done a post on the products prior, so check it out if you are interested. I started to research different brands, and different types of products and ingredients. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on products, so I decided to try some products from The Ordinary. I completely culled my skincare routine. I was using the cleanser, niacinamide serum, hyaluronic serum and the moisturizing factors + HA. This made my skin feel so tight and dry and I started flaking (complete 180 degrees to what I had!) - I didn’t like the feeling, so I started to look into different brands, and this is where I came across skincare influencers and Korean Skincare. I listened to what these people had to say about different skin types, different ingredients and I gradually introduced new products to my routine. The below routine is what I have been using for a month or so, and I can happily say this has changed my life (as you can tell from the photos)! AM Routine: Wash face with water only innisfree - Green Tea Moisture-Balancing Toner PURITO - Centella Green Level Buffet Serum skinstitut - Ultra Firming Eye & Neck Cream innisfree - Green Tea Moisture-Balancing Emulsion skinstitut - Age Defence SPF 50+ PM Routine: Double cleanse with The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser Innisfree Green Tea Moisture - Balancing Toner Purito - Centella Green Level Buffet Serum Skinstitut - Ultra Firming Eye & Neck Cream Innisfree - Green Tea Moisture - Balancing Emulsion The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil Then, once a week (on alternate days or when I feel necessary) I will use : The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalane innisfree - Green Tea Hydrating Sleeping Mask pixi - Glow Tonic innisfree - Jeju Volcanic Color Clay Mask (Yellow-Brightening) The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA I also like to use a sheet mask every now and then. Let me know your thoughts on the products I have mentioned - or let me know what helped clear up your breakouts ! xx
