Hello🌞You must know the importance of cleaning your face. I have combo-oil skin, not sensitive. I have acne-prone skin, and I have some dark spots. So I started building up my tolerance for acid since long-time ago. Today, I want to talk about my fav and meh products! pixi - Glow Tonic Concentration 🍋🍋🍋 How to Use It: Apply on cotton pads, gently rub the face It is alcohol-free, which means it is a glycolic acid product that is very good for sensitive skin. It also formulated with witch-hazel and Aesculus to mitigate the irritation. My face does not feel dry after using it. It is good at lock in hydration. So dry skin will really like it. Also, if you don't have any experience using acid, this is a good beginning. I have used half of the bottle. It does not have a strong effect on getting rid of whiteheads, but it can be a good exfoliating product. It is really worth the price. I always repurchase when it is on sale. SK-II - Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) Concentration🍋🍋🍋🍋 How to Use It: Apply on cotton pads, gently rub the face It includes Lactic acid, Malic acid, Salicylic acid. It is a combination of those acid, and it is for secondary cleanse. Comparing with Pixi, this one has more exfoliating power. It is better for combo oil and oily skin. If your skin is thinner, I recommend you only use it twice or three times a week. After using it, my face feels a bit dry. So it is good to use with hydrating products. It is quite expensive though. If you don't have enough budget for cleansing product, I won't recommend this one to you. Cle De Peau Essential Correcting Refiner How to Use It: Apply on cotton pads, gently rub the face It only has Succinic acid, which makes it different from the previous products. I feel like it has a high alcohol concentration. I can even smell the alcohol after I apply it on my face. But it actually feel good on my face. I feel refreshed after using it. It is a good choice for morning routine. But make sure you are not allergic to alcohol. It is very expensive. CLINIQUE - Clarifying Lotion 2 For Dry Combination Skin How to Use It: Apply on cotton pads, gently rub the face It has an obvious smell of alcohol. My face felt burned after using it. I really don't like it. I am using it to wipe my table now. It actually works quite well. BTW I don't like this design. It is so inconvenient to pour it out. The mouth is way too big, to the point I think you can even drink it... Have you used any of these product? How do you like it? 💞

Toner for Dry Combination skin
CLINIQUE - Clarifying Lotion 2 For Dry Combination Skin My mom has always used Clinique so by default I always played around with her makeup and skincare and it got familiar with the brand. By the time I decided it wanted to get my own products, Clinique was my first choice because it felt safe. I have now moved on from Clinique but I still use some of it’s products, this being one of them. This toner is for Dry Combibarion skin aka Type 2 according to Clinique. It’s gentle and promises to sweep away pollution, from and dulling flakes to reveal smoother and clearer skin. Drier skins benefits from exfoliation twice a day by removing all am skin flakes that sometimes act as a barrier and prevent it from absorbing all the moisture it needs. It also claims to help fine lines disappears. I personally haven’t noticed that change just by using this toner. The formula is gentle despite have an alcohol smell. It’s definitely gentler than the other toners for the other skin types. Texture is just like any other toner, watery, and leaves your skin with a cool sensation. My experience has always been positive. It worked, it cleans deep and actually helps heal acne and Dry patches. The reason I switched is because I felt like my skin “plateaud” since their step routine is all it new. So I decided to move in an and explore other options. Would I recommend it? If you’re looking for an affordable skincare care line, that’s simple and easy to use, then do consider buying the toner suited for your skin type. If you’ve been around, you can probably find other options to experiment with. I think the product is worth it, it’s nothing crazy but it’s a good deal for such an iconic brand.

How do you exfoliate? Serum or Toner?
Sometimes I feel like the more I learn about skincare, the more confused I get 🤷🏻♀️ I just finished reading Caroline Hirons new book “Skincare: the ultimate no nonsense guide”. I definitely recommend it. I’ll post soon some of my biggest take aways. But, the major thing it left me confused about is exfoliating and acids Caroline Hirons, the Queen of skincare, recommends acid toning twice a day. You should have 2-3 acid toners in your skincare line-up and rotate them, a stronger one followed by gentler, different kinds of acids. I was hoping her treatment section she would touch on acids and how she uses both, but she didn’t talk about acids as serums. Before my skincare journey I was using CLINIQUE - Clarifying Lotion 2 For Dry Combination Skin I had no complaints. It was gentle. I wouldn’t really call it exfoliating. But, after reading the ingredients and seeing alcohol at the top and dyes, I’ve decided to ditch it. I was also using CLINIQUE - CLINIQUE Exfoliating Scrub Again, no complaints. A gentle 7-day scrub. But, I learned that chemical exfoliation is better than physical, so I decided to stop using this everyday. I learned that adding AHA & BHA into your routine is important in your 30s. I tried SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment And wow 🤩 it claims that you can notice smoother & brighter skin in 3mins. MINUTES! Not months or weeks. And it is true! I love this serum. I was using 1-2 times a week. Adding acids slowly to my routine. I never experienced any irritation. I also purchased The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HAto see how it compared to the Sunday Riley Good Genes, since it’s less than 10% the price. I’ll give a review after I’ve been using it at least a month. I’ve also tried Kate Somerville - Liquid ExfoliKate Triple Acid Resurfacing Treatment This is a strong acid toner. More similar to the products that Caroline Hirons recommends. I don’t love it as much as the Sunday Riley. It smells strong. And I find it more irritating. I’ve used it every other day and that seems like too much. I do find it stings. Here’s my questions: How do you exfoliate? Serums? Or toners? Or both? To make matters more confusing, what about night creams with AHAs??? How often? I’ve read no more than twice a week. But products recommend daily. And Caroline Hirons is recommending twice a day (although alternating between gentle & strong). I think like the serums more than a strong toner. I will try a new gentler toner for twice daily use. And continue using a serum twice weekly in the evenings. I’d love to hear how you incorporate acids into your routine! Thanks 😊

My Basic Skin Care Routine
Launched in 1968, Clinique premiered as the world’s first allergy tested, dermatologist-driven beauty brand at Saks Fifth Avenue in the New York. I I am currently on a basic Clinique skin care routine which works perfectly well on my combination skin (semi-oily T-zone and dry cheeks with the occasional breakouts on the forehead and chin). The brand is one of my favorites for its noticable clarifying effects without spending a big budget. 🌟Step 1: Take The Day Off Makeup Remover – 4.2oz / 6.7oz This make-up remover dissolves and removes my long-wearing makeup, even those layers of touch-ups added throughout the day. The liquid does not sting my face and feels gentle on my dry cheeks. To use: shake the bottle before using, then soaking a cotton ball or pad with remover. Cleanse one eye area at a time by applying to eye area and holding it for several seconds, then wipe with downward strokes. Repeat using fresh cotton ball if necessary. The remover can even tackle my long lasting lipstick (check my lipstick review) and waterproof mascara without drying my lips and eyes. Score! 🌟Step 2: Liquid Facial Soap Mild – 13.5oz I believe in a powerful yet gentle cleanser as a clean face is everything to having great and plump skin. Clinique liquid facial soap is a considered a cult product. It cleanses any remaining residue on my face without stripping my face dry. On days that I skip make-up products, just the facial soap does it for me. The pump dispenses also helps me obtain just the right amount to clean. To use: lather facial soap between palms and massage over face and throat. Rinse clean and pat the skin dry. I use this twice a day as it does not cause my skin to feel too tight. 🌟Step 3: Clarifying Lotion 2 – 6.7oz / 13.5oz / 16.5oz Already a must-have in my bathroom, Lotion 2 helps me to wipe away any dead skin and make-up residue for a tighter smoother skin. After using this for years, I am always assured that my face is indeed super clean, and it also helps to reduce the size of my pores. The lotion also helps the skin to better absorb the next step – moisturizer! Unlike other toners, Lotion 2 is not too drying for me and although it stings my face a little, I feel that it works best for my combination skin. To use: soak a cotton ball or pad, sweep over cleansed face and throat twice daily. 🌟Step 4: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel – 1.7oz / 4.2oz / 6.7oz Like Lotion 2, this moisturizer is one of my all-time favorites and although I do switch between different brands, I find myself going back to this one if I just need a a suitable moisturizer for my skin. This formula is best for oily combination or oily skin types, hence it is perfect for me to use all over the face and neck during warmer months or coupled with a strong serum in winter. I can spread the oil-free lightweight lotion across my face easily without it feeling too greasy (even on my T-zone) and my skin absorbs it really quickly too. Its natural ingredients keep my skin moisturized without feeling oily for the whole day or night.

Effective Evening Skincare Routine for Busy/ Lazy Ladies
Your to-do list feels endless, the days are long, and yet, we feel like we can’t get everything accomplished most of the time! On days when we feel overwhelmed and unproductive, a quick and relaxing night time skincare routine will help set us up for waking up to great skin. On usual evenings, I spend more time to take care of my skin as it gives me a chance to relax and unwind with the lovely scented products as well. I don’t use this routine often, maybe only once a month when I have a late night out or when I stay up late for work. Here are bare minimum I do to my combination skin in my PM routine in order to keep my complexion in tip-top shape. My priorities are to make sure that my T-zone and pores are cleansed thoroughly so that I don’t go to bed with clogged pores, and that my dry cheeks get their hydration recovery overnight. o Face scrub Exfoliation is critical for me, and I scrub my face at least once a week. I rarely wear make-up these days, so I skip make-up remover. A face scrub not only helps to cleanse the day’s debris and dirt off my face, it also assists to cleanse my pores and rough spots. My go-to scrub for the longest time is the ST. Ives - Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub, widely available in all stores. My skin gets extra nutrients from its formula containing 100% natural walnut shell powder to give soft, smooth, and glowing skin. o Tone and Moisturize Since a face scrub can still be drying for the face, the toner will still be part of the fast beauty routine. Instead of adding the face toner on a cotton pad, I apply the liquid with my palms for a quick hydrating boost. I use CLINIQUE - Clarifying Lotion 2 For Dry Combination Skin as it is one of the most effective toners I have used to clean and hydrate my combination skin well. The formula gets absorbed quickly into the skin, allowing me to quickly apply moisturizer as the next step. For moisturizer, I choose a trusty clean beauty product - sukin - Purely Ageless Restorative Night Cream 120ml to do two things at the same time. Formulated with richer ingredients like pure ribose, macadamia oil and cocoa butter for an intense hydration boost, the cream also works as an anti-aging cream also helps to improve skin elasticity and fight signs of ageing thanks to the added white hibiscus and baobab fruit. o Go to Sleep with Sleeping Mask Ever since I discoverd the convenience of a sleeping mask, I have never looked back. They put a whole new defination to sleeping beauty. When I just want to hit the pillow fast, I skip the sheet mask and slather on a rich, nourishing sleeping mask gel on my face for a quick, final seal of hydration on my face. My go-to sleeping mask is LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask, a cult beauty product in many places. I apply the soothing jelly-like cream on my moisturized face and leave it on overnight, until I wash my face on the next morning. Suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin, the sleeping mask with highly concentrated Hydro Ionized Mineral Water delivers high doses of moisture to my skin while I sleep. I also adore its relaxing trademark Calming Sleepscent, infused with orange flower, rose, and sandalwood. Check out the Lip Sleeping Mask product by the same brand too; you won’t regret it, especially in harsh winters.

My Skin Changed So Much After I Found A Good Toner!😮😮
Often disregarded or skipped, face toners should be considered as an important step to your skin care routine for well-cleansed, hydrated and supple skin. I rely on toners to provide a quick hit of hydration on my dry cheeks while removing dead skin cells on my T-zone. It also essentially preps my skin and balances my skin pH to absorb the benefits of the products that I will use after, especially since cleansing can be harsh for the skin. As the city that I am residing in now is hot and dry, I am currently using a toner that helps to boost hydration at the same time. Muji’s Moisturizing Toning WaterMUJI - HIGH MOISTURIZING TONING WATER has not disappoint me so far. One of my favorite lifestyle brands, Muji was founded in Japan in 1980 to offer products that are actually useful for the customer and maintain an ideal of the proper balance between living and the objects that make it possible. I only started using their range of skin care line recently, including this hydrating toner for sensitive skin. Infused with natural water from Kamaishi, Japan, the toner also contains natural grapefruit extract and purslane extract. Both ingredients have astringent properties to help regulate the build-up of oil in the pores. To use, I lightly squeeze the bottle and pour onto the product on a cotton pad before swiping it across my cleansed face. The gentle liquid preps and hydrates my skin well for the serum and moisturizer I use next. On days when I use heavy make-up and when I need a more thorough skin detox, I use Clinique’s Clarifying Lotion 2 - For Dry Combination Skin. CLINIQUE - Clarifying Lotion 2 For Dry Combination SkinThe liquid never fails to cleans my face even more by effectively sweeping away pollution residue, grime, skin flakes to reveal smoother, clearer skin. To apply, I pour the toner on a cotton ball or pad and sweep it gently over face and neck. It is always satisfying to see dirt and gunk trapped on the cotton, thanks to this toner. Although suitable for use in day and night, I only use this toner at night as it can feel stingy or harsh on the face, especially during the bitty dry winter climate. Still, this is definitely one of the most effective toners you can use to clean and hydrate combination skin well!

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.2 DAYS AGO
