❗️Everyone’s favorite peel!❗️
❗️Everyone’s favorite peel!❗️
❗️Let’s talk 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧❗️⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭? This is The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I’m sure you’ve seen 1000 posts about it, but now you’ve seen 1001...and who doesn’t love a nice bubbles shot?! 😜 Don’t be confused by the name — it isn’t one of those masks that dries and you literally physically peel off from your face. This type of “peel” is actually chemical. According to their website, it is “An exfoliating solution to help fight visible blemishes and improve the look of skin texture and radiance.”⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐇𝐨𝐰-𝐓𝐨 & 𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: Apply to a 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧, 𝐝𝐫𝐲 face. Leave on for UP TO 10 minutes. My skin is pretty tolerant, and can do the full 10. Some people say the tingling or burning is too strong to leave on that long — I don’t think it should “burn” but a nice tingle lets you know it’s working. I wash off with warm water on a washcloth, but that’s just personal preference. Recommended use is a maximum of twice/week (I use mine every Friday without fail!). I also follow up with the PTR Rose Stem Cell mask each time to lock in hydration.⁣ ⁣⁣ After 10 minutes, my skin always feels SO soft and smooth. My sister said it helped immensely with her eczema after just one use.⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞: This little gem is $7.20 for a 1oz bottle. According to my skincare app, I’ve used it 40 times since I purchased it in mid-April. I also let my sister use it (maybe twice?) and spilled a whole bunch of it when I knocked it over once...and it STILL isn’t gone. I’ve got 1-2 uses left, and a backup on standby! I really can’t believe how many uses I’ve gotten out of one bottle. This product is more than worth it. Even if you decide it isn’t for you after trying it, you’ve only spent about $7. I’ve (shamefully) ordered drinks from Starbucks that cost more than that.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐏𝐒𝐀: Oh and please use sunscreen (every day, but ESPECIALLY) after using this as the high concentration of AHA/BHA leaves your skin extra photosensitive! ⁣ Also, swipe to see it on my face (I’m trying to show more of myself on this page). A thin layer is all you need! ☺️ ⁣ 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘹𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘵?

PM Routine
PM Routine
Started this routine faithfully for about two weeks all together using these all together at night. I’ve been using Arbonne cleanser and night cream for years but have added the other things in too. Arbonne Cleanser- I love this anti aging cleanser for its ingredients, texture and it gets all my makeup off too. So I use this first. DIFFERIN - Daily Deep Cleanser BPO 5% I use this cleanser after my makeup is off and scrub jt around with my face scrubber pictured. I also let it sit on my skin for a couple minutes so it can soak in and work then I wash it off. insta natural - Organic Rose Water I forgot to picture this but I use this as my toner. I never notice if one toner works over the other but I always make sure to use a toner after I wash my face. De La Cruz - Sulfur Ointment, Acne Medication, Maximum Strength I honestly use this more before I do my morning routine but sometimes I do it before my nighttime routine after I cleanse my face. I leave it on for awhile to dry up my zits. Sometimes at this point I use a serum, I alternate between insta natural - Dark Spot Corrector or insta natural - Age Defying & Skin Clearing Serum or insta natural - Skin Brightening Serum, Anti-Aging or ARBONNE Renewal serum or ARBONNE Spot correcting essence..... or I do The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Then I use my ARBONNE NIGHT CREAM. I use my DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel on top of my night cream so I don’t overly dry out my skin. I don’t use this retinoid the same night I use The ordinary peeling solution though. I may have a couple times but it will definitely make your skin red and hot which I don’t want to overly irritate my skin either. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil I use this with a drop of emu oil to help lock in moisture, help my acne scarring and help heal whatever acne I do have. I noticed a slight difference using the emu oil (definitely leaves your skin so soft in the morning) but the minute I started using insta natural - Age Defying & Skin Clearing Serum whether morning or night and DIFFERIN - Daily Deep Cleanser BPO 5% DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel I noticed a huge difference in my acne, inflammation and texture of my skin. I hope this can help someone else like this app has helped me! It’s so nice to finally see some improvement in your skin.

Super effective! But use with caution ⚠️

Exfoliation is a very important step in skincare routine. Between physical and chemical exfoliators, (while I've seen my share of some very good physical ones,) I'll always prefer chemical exfoliators. One of the most effective ones out there is the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution which needs no introduction. There's no doubt this peel works, but I want to go ahead and document my experience with this peel. I've used it for about 4-5 months now. My skin: dry-combination, normal on good days and dry-sensitive on bad ones. Age: 26, medium skin tone. Off the bat, it's definitely super effective and (almost) does justice to the ingredient list. And for the price point, it's probably the best one out there. But since every skin is unique, here's my take on it: 1. For my skin on good days, I leave it on for 7-9 mins. And I also apply a thin layer (see pic). It leaves my skin very soft with a noticeable glow the next day. 2. Yes, it causes purging. You need to be patient for at least 3 weeks once you start. I typically leave the bumps be, and they go away in a week. If the breakout lasts longer, reevaluate if your skin is reacting to the product and not purging. 3. It stings a little. I've noticed, however, that it stings more if your skin is irritated (as above) or if it's extra dry. So make sure you moisturize your skin a bit extra during the day when plan to apply it. If it is stinging unbearably, remove it asap coz it could be causing a chemical burn. After a skin detox (checkout my previous post), I can use it without stinging. 4. For sensitive days, this is an absolute and resounding NO. I applied it once when my skin was a bit sensitized/irritated and I had a very tiny dot of a chemical burn right above my lip after 4ish minutes (my skin was extra sensitive there). *for interested parties, I cured the burn by applying aloe regularly and staying off of skincare for a while except for a cool moisturizer from my fridge. Neutrogena hydro boost or FAB ultra repair are two good options for that. 5. Start out with a milder exfoliant. I had used the pixi glow tonic before. It's a good start but now that I know better, I'd suggest starting off with the Ordinary Lactic Acid to build your tolerance. 6. My husband leaves it on for 8-10 mins once a week comfortably. For me, I leave it less than 8 (typically 6) once every 1-2 weeks. 7. While the peel is awesome, honestly for me it's not a necessity. If I regularly use my Lactic Acid and Salicylic Acids (each of them once a week), this peel could be like a little extra once in a while and that's about it. 8. I did, however, start applying it as a body exfoliant on my scar. I have a scar of a bike injury gash on my calf and I'm applying it there. I'll keep you posted if it works and fades the scar :) So here it is, my not so brief experience with the Ordinary peel. Hope it helps! 😁

Importance of Exfoliation!!!
Importance of Exfoliation!!!
Happy Monday Everyone🖤 It’s the start of a new week and I need you all to pay very close attention to what you are about to read! Exfoliating is essential in every skin routine regardless of what skin type you have PERIOD. You need to exfoliate! This step in your routine targets all skin issues from acne to large pores and to smoother skin. Check out these benefits of exfoliating: 1. Helps reduce hormonal acne! To all my high school and college students, school gets stressful. For me personally, I break out when I’m stressed. However, exfoliating prevents breakouts from appearing and helps acne go away faster. 2. Helps even skin tone and provides smoother skin. If you are suffering from textured skin, acne scarring, and hyperpigmentation. Through exfoliating those skin issues will fade away overtime. 3. Exfoliating regulates the oil in your skin which also helps to unclog pores to prevent future breakouts. (key for my folks with oily and combination skin) 4. Removes dead skin cells to promote new cell growth. Getting rid of those dead skin cells will promote smoother skin. 5. PREVENTS AND TREATS ACNE BIG TIME! _____________________________________ I am currently using Paulas Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant. I use this once every evening and use The Ordinary’s AHA+ BHA Peeling Solution about twice a month. I prefer chemical exfoliants over physical exfoliants because physical exfoliants can be harsh and ruin your protective barrier. Things to Remember: 1. Do not over exfoliate. Follow the instructions label on your product. 2. If you exfoliate, you must wear sunscreen. Exfoliating can cause sensitivity to the skin. So please wear sunscreen to protect your protective barrier. 3. Use exfoliants that have AHA and BHA as ingredients.PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

Here's my latest skin haul awaiting to arrive in the mail. I'll be trying and reviewing to give you my truthful opinion on how these work for me and why I think they are (or are not) a good product. Have you personally tried any of these? Sound off in the comments your thoughts. Give me time to get through each of these products since I'll be trying them out for atleast a week at a time.
